I happened to go on their second night in business. The staff was VERY friendly. I had no less than 3 servers helping me. The salsa was awesome. The pupusas and curtido were good but after half of a Cadillac margarita I started to loose the ability to taste. Fun cover band. Cool vibe. Can't wait to go back! read more

It was the end of another punishing work week, a colleague and I needed to distance ourselves from the office so we could blow off some steam, so a fellow colleague recommended Azul Tequila which was a short drive away. But once you opened the doors, I expected the Beach Boys' "Kokomo" to be played while Tom Cruise mixed "cocktails" at the bar. No such luck, but maybe I'll suggest that next time...because I planned on another visit. Only nick was that we had to ask for our check, but seriously, I didn't want to return to work. Parking (free) - There were plenty of free parking spaces in the outdoor offices/shopping center located at the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Tourney Road. No need to look elsewhere. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - It felt like we'd walked into a beach shack in Cabo San Lucas or Cancun with faux palms and some wood motif; all that was missing was sand on the floor - this was my kind of place! There appeared to be plenty of bench tables once you entered and proceeded towards the back. There was a separate bar area, several promotional posters hung on the walls, and festive beach decorations abound. There was both electric and natural lighting but generally seemed muted. There were several TVs but didn't notice any background music. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops if I weren't at work. Overall, Azul Tequila was a hit with me, and I'm ready to line up for more with some amigos in-tow. The menu was varied, but didn't overwhelm, and seemed like a good place to catch some after-work drinks and maybe a game. However, I'm not sure if they had happy hour or not; it appeared that they would. I found exceptionally good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total paid experience was around $26.00 before tip). Let me start by saying I usually love this place. But went there tonight for dinner. We sat down at 6:20. Waited 15 min to get our drink order. Server took forever to bring drinks to us. She apologized and then said, "I'm going to drop off the other drinks and I'll be right back to take your order." She never came back. Thirty minutes later manager asked if he could take our menus. I then told him we haven't ordered. I told him we were leaving and we paid for our drinks and left. Manager apologized for being short staffed but didn't comp us or offer us a coupon to come back next time. I think this is what angered me the most. If you find yourself in Valencia this is a pretty good mexican restaurant to hit up that is far away enough from the crowded mall or large shopping center restaurants. The restaurant has a dining area with booths and tables, plus a separate bar area with tvs. They have a large drink menu with a variety of margaritas (of course) and a selection of sangrias and micheladas. Their food menu is pretty extensive as well and they have pretty good lunch specials and happy hour specials. However, the prices are pretty cheap even without the specials. The chicken mole enchilada was stuffed with white meat and the dark mole as savory and sweet. Even the chile relleno wasn't over done with egg! If you love spicy food, ask for a side of their homemade habanero salsa! Caliente and good. Spicy mango margarita is also a must! :) read more

After seeing this restaurant's overall Yelp rating of 4 stars, my friend and I decided to stop here for lunch on our way to Anaheim. I would rate Azul Tequila 3 stars for the atmosphere, service, and pricing. Our lunch was served quickly which was nice. However, in regards to the quality and authenticity food, my friend and I did not find it to be 4-star or above quality. The salsa was one of the most bland salsas I've had at a Mexican restaurant, and the refried beans and Spanish rice lacked flavor. My street tacos were good, but those are hard to mess up. My friend said that the cheese in her enchilada wasn't good. It was convenient to stop here for lunch during our road trip, but as far as fulfilling my Mexican food craving, this restaurant missed the mark. read more

Took forever to get our food and drinks. Throughout the dinner we kept having to flag staff down for a refill on waters. We ordered a pitcher of classic margarita, appetizer of ceviche and queso dip. The meat tastes bland like it was boiled in water. The burrito had a weird flavor, like the cheese used was moldy, my girlfriend thinks it tasted like metal or foil. my family and I have been coming here for years, as we have loved their happy hour. Unfortunately, the service tonight has been BEYOND horrid. From the time we were seated until the time we got our order put in was 35 minutes. My mother did not get her beer until 20 minutes after that. The manager did not help us either, all he asked was "have you been helped?" but nothing more. Our waitress seemed very flustered, confused, and stressed out, as if this was her first night on the job (we know it isn't). She blamed the hostess for the mix up, but there should be no excuse in general. Granted, we got seated in the corner in the back, but that does not give the right to go without help for almost an hour. Please do better Azul, and if you cannot handle the amount of customers/are short staffed, don't fill your restaurant up to full capacity. read more

Firrreee chilaquiles!!! I ordered these to go (per usual rn) and the staff was very nice offered me a free drink when I waited cause it was taking a little bit longer than quoted (don't go expecting that probably), they gave me a bag full of chips plenty of salsa, sour cream and guacamole without asking, it's dope; just as much food as if I sat down there. Too many good-looking dishes to choose from! My wife and I left completely stuffed and satisfied. Needed a to-go box for the leftovers. Like other similar type restaurants they will give you chips and salsa, but this place also gives a really good bean dip as well! Our waiter Geovany was very professional and courteous. This restaurant is really nice looking and very close to Magic mountain but sadly the food was just OK. The chips are very fresh but the salsa's are really bland. I had the shrimp fajitas and felt they were only just ok. I was pretty disappointed because I hadn't had fajitas in forever. The margaritas are very strong.
