Platter 3. California rolls, dragon rolls, spicy salmon rolls and a combination of red snapper, salmon, shrimp sashimi

Updated (October 2021) to add the sushi, sashimi and roll platter -- so fresh and delicious!

I live right by the area and come here to satisfy my sushi cravings. Usual days for lunch I come here as well. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but portions are good and fish is fresh enough to liking. Although Miso soup is very bland and almost no taste. I usually throw out the miso soup as I don't drink it and it is definitely not fresh. Prices are okay, but I would recommend getting the VIP card for someone who comes all the time if you're looking for getting a few $ off of ur order. Seating is small but it is usually always busy when I go, therefore I get take out majority of the time. I always order the salmon lover when I come as that is the only thing I really enjoy from the menu. I've had the chicken cutlet, black dragon roll, tempura and calamari before all was good. Only thing is tempura batter could be improved as it can be very thick and over-battered sometimes. Staff is okay, they tend to not pay attention to students as much from my experience considering I am one. Service can be slow since there are only 1-2 servers.

Salmon Lover and a side of brown rice ! Mmm looks good!

I come here quite frequently and it never disappoints! Parking is easy and service is never an issue. The food is really fresh, I've done both take out and dine in and I never regret it. I have tried quite a few of their Bento boxes and I'm obsessed with their Salmon Lover dish! They even offer brown rice! In a nutshell they are consistent with their food, their service and offer competitive prices! I cannot complain with that

Hawaii Roll and Rainbow Cheese Roll

I live in Port Union and hadn't tried this place yet, so when my girlfriend offered up this place for dinner on a Saturday night ,I had to take her up on it and I am so glad I did! There wasnt anyone else dining in when we arrived so we just sat down at a table near the front. They have a lot of great options for rolls ranging from the basic to the more advanced. My girlfriend ordered the Golden California Roll and the Dynamite Roll. I tried one of the Golden California pieces and I quite enjoyed it. They used a nice light and flaky tempura batter so it wasn't too heavy or oily. I ordered the Hawaii Roll and the Rainbow Cheese Roll. I was very impressed with my choices. The Hawaii roll or usually known as Philadelphia Roll is my go to roll at any sushi establishment. I definitely give them points for creativity with the Cheese Roll, every piece was so good!! I had never tried anything like it before and will come back just for this roll. Service could have been a bit more attentive, but overall they are on point with their sushi!

Located in a small plaza with a good amount of parking and most likely near a highschool. Came on a weekday during lunch hours and the place was filled with young and hungry teenagers. Service was still pretty decent. Got the chirashi for $12.99 which is basically assorted sashimi on a bowl of rice. The sashimi was fresh and came in a pretty decent portion size. The sashimi that were included: tuna, salmon, red snapper, red clam and some processed crab. Meal came with they typical salad and miso soup. Everything tasted good but I have definately had better chirashi dishes that have way better sashimi options like uni and salmon roe. Not too sure if this is authentic Japanese place as I could hear with workers speaking Cantonese.

This was my first time ordering Sushi from here, they definitely have a big variety of rolls and the prices are reasonable. The rolls are big and taste good! However I would not recommend the beef terriyaki...the cut of meat is hard to chew and it did not taste fresh at all. Overall the sushi is great and it's worth it it if you live in the area!

One of the hidden gems in Scarborough! It's a great sushi restaurant that you wouldn't expect to find in this area. Sashimi was fresh, the presentation was beautiful and the good in general tasted great! Highly recommended. They have a promo right now where you can buy a membership card for $10 which gets you 10% off forever (no exp date!) and you will get $10 worth of coupons on top of that. Not bad if you're a frequent diner!

This time, it was their new Japanese Fried Chicken Karaage, available in several flavours: Classic, Teriyaki, Sweet Heat, Maple Jalapeño, and Hot Yuzu. They were all delicious and are available as small plates or meal-sized. It was hard to pick a favourite. We also tried their Egg Sando, and Miso Udon Carbonara. As good as everything was, the udon dish turned out to be my favourite. Those flavours really appealed to me. Maybe it was the generous amount of crispy bacon in it! No visit to Fuwa Fuwa would be complete without having some of their delicious beverages. We had the Butterfly Pea Latte, Strawberry Matcha Latte, and Dragon Fruit Refresher. Tip: This cafe has ube baked goods and Japanese meals…read more A few Saturdays ago, I was at Chuck's Roadhouse for lunch. Afterwards, I drove around the plaza to figure out what businesses were there. I was happy to see Fuwa Fuwa Dessert Cafe. I had flagged coming here. Well, it took a gathering of three friends with me to visit this cafe last Thursday. I had only visited the Fuwa Fuwa location in Vaughan. This one in Pickering is special for a bunch of reasons. There was lots of parking at 6 pm on a Thursday evening that was threatening freezing rain. Luckily, we only got rain. Yay! I backed into a tight parking spot. The tight part was due to a snowbank that was in front of the row of parking. I threw out some garbage from my car into a receptacle near this business. I saw one of my friends in the cafe already. Another one said hi to me when I grabbed the door. Our third friend came in a few minutes later. We are a punctual group. It was nice. I looked at the desserts display that I was sitting next to. First, it's deadly to be that close to baked goods. Second, there was a lot of ube. This cafe has Filipino and Japanese influences in its menu offerings. It's cool to me! I had meant to get something with ube in it. I need to go back! We were here for dinner. Normally, you think of fluffy, giggly pancakes when you're at Fuwa Fuwa. This restaurant had a Japanese eats menu. We got the following Japanese combos: - Combo A for two people: - Teriyaki pork katsu rice - Chicken karaage curry - Two miso soups - Two cans of pop - Combo B for two people: - Udon noodle soup - Teriyaki chicken karaage - Two iced matcha lattes We shared the mains and soups family-style, so we could sample everything. Our mains and miso soups came out first. The drinks came out last. The teriyaki pork katsu on rice was yummy. The katsu was crispy on the outside and perfect inside. The rice was fluffy and had some green onions and furikake (dried seaweed flakes). One friend wanted more furikake on it. The rest of us were fine with what we got. I've been into Japanese curry for the longest time. This place made it well. The chicken karaage was crispy, as the curry was separate on the plate and so flavourful. We got rice. It had this sesame shredded cabbage as a side. It was yummy, but we all suggested that it needed red cabbage to add a colourful pop to the dish. We gave the most feedback on the miso soup. It was salty. I ended up taking water that I had filled a cup up at the station in the back and diluted my soup. It was less salty. The problem was that my water was cold and it made my soup cooler. The owner on the store apologized. We did a taste test between a batch of miso soup from yesterday that he had brought to our table versus the saltier one today. I tasted both. Yesterday's didn't have a strong miso flavour. Today's was too salty. I ended mixing the two. The miso flavour was perfect, but it was on the salty side. We got two cans of Coke zero. I can do Coke zero. One of my friends can't. We ended up trading one of the cans for regular Coke, which he likes. My can was cold. It didn't cause a sugar spike. All good. I also had one of the iced matcha lattes. I was thirsty from my miso soup. I loved it. It was cold. The matcha flavour was excellent. It was creamy from the milk in it. Three of us had the udon noodle soup. One of our friends can't have beef. The beef was thinly sliced and yummy. We all loved the chewiness of the udon. The broth wasn't overly salty. I liked it. The jammy egg was perfect. The green onions enhanced this dish. We got teriyaki chicken karaage. I love that it had kewpie mayo drizzled on top. The chicken was moist inside and crunchy on the outside. This dish came with rice and a runny fried egg. Delicious! We ordered a couple of jiggly pancakes: - Berry - Matcha It was my first time having the berry. It was excellent. I loved the berry compote poured all over the pancakes, which absorbed everything like a sponge. The pancakes were fluffy, jiggly, and delicious. I've had the matcha pancakes before. I loved the matcha sauce and the strawberry slices. It was nice having them again. I used the washroom before we called in a night. There are two single stalls. The one that I used was decent. I loved visited this cafe. It was nice spending time with friends over dinner and jiggly pancakes. I will return for the ube goodies! (115)

Fresh salmon daily. I'm not sure why we stopped when it turned into a restaurant. For years I thought it changed ownership. But it hasn't. We tried their sushi yesterday and it was delicious. The bibimbap was meatless and could use more sauce but the rice and egg was perfect. They offered a good Melona variety. The creme brulee was ordered to torch and came in a legit ramekin but I wished the sugar crust was thicker. Great service and environment. I did find the seats a bit cramped especially when sharing the middle booth. We were reminded of the 1.5hr last call and 2hr seating limit a few times though. We sat at the bar area and got to see the chefs hard at work. The care, the precision and the details. Just wow. Prices are a bit high for a casual meal but definitely you are paying for quality. Ordered the premium set combo(ordered the chirashi box as well but will explain later). There is some caviar on the torched roll and little details in the different pieces. The combo came with a few sides. Came with a nice rich broth soup. There was a steamed egg with mushrooms which was so light but rich in flavour. There was salad as well which was refreshing. If you give them a Google review (don't worry I am loyal to yelp), they give you a few extra pieces as well. We also tried the fried oysters which came out fresh and hot and it was delicious. I definitely would be going back, just when I have more time. The only negative I have is the wait. From sitting and ordering, the food came a bit over an hour after. Was in a bit of a rush so had to cancel the chirashi box. Would have loved to try it. Place was rammed. Speaking with the waiter, it was unusually busy. I can't even be mad, they had one guy basically running around doing a lot of hard work. He and the chefs were very apologetic, giving us the oysters as an apology. They were not expecting a full house on a snowy Thursday. I can see why they had a crowd though. Food is amazing. Staff is great. Will definitely be going back
