Larios Market was recommended to me by a wonderful fellow Yelper. You know who you are. Thank you!…read more I wanted to get guacamole, salsa, and chips for a team potluck lunch. I got rave reviews on these items that they are super good at Larios so here I am to confirm. This market is located at the corner of Barranca Ave and Arrow Highway in Covina. It's actually a meat market, but they sell produce and other food/dry items plus hot foods. It's a very small place with maybe 3-4 tight aisles. I went straight to the refrigeration area. I saw lots of different salsas and a handful of guacamole. At first glance, the appearance of the guac did not look appealing to me. It looked brown and kind of watery at the top. I was hesitant to get them, but since they were recommended, I got 3 of them. Now looking back, I should have only gotten one just to try them. It was not that great IMHO. Maybe they were not made that day and have been hanging around for a day or so. However, the roasted red salsa was really really good... I would highly recommend this one. Pico de gallo was decent. Crab ceviche was just okay... too much of the V8 taste. I ended up buying 6 containers and spent over $50 on guac and salsa. Probably more than I need. I didn't bother with the chips as they look more on the oily side. Anyway, staff was nice and helpful. Check out was fast as it wasn't super busy at the time. Parking is limited. They do have a few tables and stools outside in front of the market for those who want to eat here after their food purchase. I'm not sure if I would come back for the guac, but I may come back for the roasted red salsa and possibly their tacos and burritos.

Smelled delicious just getting off the car, the gentleman behind the counter (only assuming he's the owner) beyond grateful for him, super patient with us as we were trying to figure out what to do, we explaining to him our situation and he went out of his was to chop up the carnitas so our boys could eat them in tacos. The lady behind the cashier also very helpful, we purchased a lemon and she was nice enough to cut it for us to it out asking. I can definitely see why they had a line of customers after us, very clean location, and more than friendly employees/owners - carnitas and birria were great!

I guess I entered their delivery door to the meat dept., but they didn't seem to mind. This place is a bit tiny, but it is very neat and have a good selection of meats. The place is clean and shelves are very neatly stocked and organized. And of course I must have been the cheapest buyer in the place. I spent a whole $1.94 for Square Gas foil burners for your stove. They're square aluminum foil to protect food from dripping onto your stove by the burners. I'm a guy, so that's the best I can do for identifying these. The cashier was cheerful and friendly and didn't mind me being a cheap spender. Place: 4 stars well stocked clean market Food: 4 stars meat department looks fresh Price: 4 stars excellent prices for quality / quanity Service: 5 stars friendly, fast and courtous Ambience:4 stars It's OK, just a very nice market Parking: 3 stars tight parking at times NOTE: They need to put a sign (On meat cutter's door) to use other door, so ya don't end up in the meat cutter area.

Finally someone came out and started packing salsas. I'm still waiting to be helped. I finally had to say "excuse me, I need some help"! I get the carnitas and go up front to pay the cashier. Nobody is there. I wait another 10 minutes just waiting for the cashier to appear. The lady that gave me the carnitas kept yelling out a name so that I can get checked out. She yelled for about 5 minutes and nobody showed up. I placed the items I wanted to purchase on the cashier counter and walked out. Their meat is pretty good but there are many other carniceria options around the Azusa area that are just as good with WAY better customer service.

Went today and had to pause when I saw the "under new management" sign outside. Went in anyway and found my fears to be true. Sparse selection, higher prices ( Maybe Biden's fault but still....) and FROZEN salsa! WTF? Who freezes the fresh salsa and tries to see it as an ice block? Bought some Pollo and Asada anyway....had to give them the benefit of doubt....Should have trusted my instincts. Asada was dry and tough....even cooked rare! Would have made great Alien Beef Jerky though! The pollo was fatty and lacked any flavor. Too bad, So Sad. Won't be coming here any more. The drive to ELA to pick up some authentic meats will be a pain in the Bu$% but will totally be worth not having to lose teeth trying to eat the beef jerky from here!
