He took the time to answer all of our questions, gave us excellent recommendations, and never made us feel rushed. He was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, which made shopping so much easier and more enjoyable. It's rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about helping customers, and his outstanding customer service really stood out. I had a disappointing experience at this Azusa location today. When I got to the register, the cashier was noticeably rude her name is Michelle . I greeted her with a "hello," but she didn't acknowledge me, make eye contact, or respond. She also handled my items carelessly by tossing them into the bag. When I asked her a question, she ignored me completely. What stood out to me was that she was friendly and conversational with the customer before me and the customer after me, but treated me very differently. Because of that, I left the store feeling disrespected and, honestly, discriminated against. After I got home, I called the store to report what happened. The employee who answered the phone was kind, professional, and took my concerns seriously. Shortly afterward, the store manager Eddie called me back. He apologized and told me they had reviewed the security cameras and confirmed that the cashier did not acknowledge me and was handling my items inappropriately. I appreciate that the manager took the time to investigate and respond so quickly. I'm grateful for the professionalism shown by the employee who answered the phone and the store manager. However, no customer should be made to feel ignored or treated differently while simply trying to make a purchase. I hope this situation is addressed so other customers don't have a similar experience. read more

I've been coming here for a while now and have not been able to express the gratitude this place and the Staff has been. Often times you take for granted " the everyday " In between citrus and APU, it's been a lifeline for many in the neighborhood. I found myself going in there just about every other day to pick up odds and ends. I love the fresh fruit stand inside and the sushi counter. We recently moved back to LA county for medical reasons. We hit this Stater Brothers meat department and we're greeted by friendly employees, with excellent customer service skills, and with a smile. One afternoon, I went to buy some chicken in the self help meat case. I touched the package and was concerned if it was cold enough. I approached a professional, friendly manager, Jesse, and told him my concern. Jesse grabbed his thermal gun and he put me at ease when he showed me the temperature on his gun. I told Jesse I was going through chemotherapy at the City of Hope and would become very ill if I encountered mishandled food. He was very empathetic towards me and we always waived and said hi, and yes, we were on a first name basis. Then, there is Isaak, again, super friendly, always with a smile. He suggested a cut on some spareribs that was just perfection, cutting the breast bone into riblets. Jillian (sp), is next. Professional, friendly, always with kind smile, and always ready to find the perfect cut of meat. I remember that perfect chuck roast she cut for us about a month ago. The other day, I wanted cook some shrimp for my son. I use DoorDash now that I am under hospice care in a cottage at the City of Hope. It is extemely expensive. I called the meat department and spoke to Jesse I wasn't able to find the shrimp he was talking about through the DoorDash app. He set it up for me and I was able to get what I needed. He and his crew even removed the tails for me, and that package of shrimp made easily into the skillet for a delicious appetizer for my amazing son. When my son got here, I was feeling so bad, he had to cook the shrimp under my instructions. Now, I don't want to miss the other employees in the meat department who know my journey. Eveyone of them know my journey and are ever so kind and friendly. Jesse is managing at the highest level with buy in from his staff and all of them working as a cohesive team, a well oiled machine and that's me coming from the grocery business,way back in the early 70's. I highly recommend this Stater Brothers location, as the place to shop, especially if you like great cuts of meat and great service with a smile from Jesse and his amazing crew! I hope the Stater Brothers supervisors and district managers honor this amazing meat department and staff. I took the time. Thank you, Jesse! read more

Iris has worst customer service!!! I was waiting in line holding a lot of stuff didn't expect to get . Line was long and finally had two customers in front me. Iris takes the person behind me and leaves me there carrying all the stuff. I told her that was not nice I was next and you see I'm carrying all this stuff and she ignored me. Staters wtf do you have people like that working there? I was operations manager for huge company and would immediately send her back to customer service training! Iris should not be cashier. She didn't even apologize . The checker I had apologized for her trying to protect his colleague. Poor guy was working so hard with wrist band. They recently opened their sushi station. I decided to wait a couple weeks before trying it. I had gone in a couple of times while doing my shopping. Finally decided to try it, and it was a huge disappointment from the selection to the taste, all of their selection is based on imitation crab, very little fish. They had zero nigiri options. After finally deciding on two rolls I went with a spicy salmon roll and a basic salmon roll. The rice did not taste fresh even though they are preparing it daily from 10 to 6. The ginger was either bad or not a good quality. The prices ranged from eight dollars up to $12 per roll. Unfortunately I will not be returning for the sushi. read more

This Stater Bros has provides everything that I need for my weekly grocery for great prices! However, I am never able to come during the day because the lines are too long. Example: Every time I want to grab some porterhouse or skirt steaks from the butcher, it takes forever to get them because of how many other people he needs to attend to. Btw shoutout to the butcher Paul. I just met him yesterday during a late night grocery run and found out he's a cool guy, and has a great attitude. I've had multiple interactions with him beforehand but I would never be able to talk because he's way too busy to. The cashiers are nice, the store is clean, I just don't like dealing with the queues, and in my experience the queues are at their peak between 2-7pm. read more

This makes the second time & last time ordering a 3ft sandwich from the deli. You pay the price $59.99 and both times bread is dry. The lettuce old, skimpy on tomatoes. My suggestion Subway of Jersey Mike both right down the street from Stater Bros. This complaint is with the CORPORATE OFFICE. Their price changed increased on the sub sandwiches. Why is it more expensive to pre-order sandwiches at $16.99 vs. buying the pre-made ones over the counter at $13.99. A $3.00 increase to ask in advance for the same item. I would think pre-ordering them would help the store order enough supplies in advance and save them money. Shame on this up charge. You just lost my 7 years of business with you. read more
