I can't believe that I was working with the same company as these bad reviews refer to. James…read moreCollentro was the person I worked with and found him knowledgeable and professional. The price was good. I got 4 estimates. The company that gave me a lower price gave me a bad feeling. The install went smoothly and the system has been working well for a month. I had an eight inch strip that was being missed. I called Jim directly and he came out the next day and shifted a sprinkler head to resolve the problem. They used the top line parts offered by the manufacturer. I recommend this company.

Automatic Rain Lawn and Sprinkles Review…read more I would not recommend Automatic Rain Lawn and Sprinkles. For anything. I spoke with both of the owners yesterday and was floored with their level of unprofessionalism. I would be happy to settle this matter in small claims court. The Tech who I spoke with over the phone told me " if you can refuse to pay and have a clear conscience, then good, good for you." I told him I would. He also wished me luck as I looked for another company to service my system. So maybe he's not as horrible and nasty as the front desk clerk I spoke with. Thanks to him wishing me "luck" I found a company that charges less and does more. Here are a few tips for Automatic Rain Lawn and Sprinkles - 1. Don't promise work is included and then because gas prices go up try and nickel and dime your customers (this only ensures you don't get repeat business). 2. Quote people for the work you do before the work is done (this will ensure everyone is on the same page) 3. You could change your name to Automatic Pain Lawn and Sprinkles (this is a more accurate name). My tips are free of charge. What happened? Well, I purchased my home in late fall of 2021. The previous owner did not do winterization on their irrigation system and the external main shut off valve was cracked. I called Automatic Rain and Lawn Sprinkles to have them come out and replace the valve and winterize my irrigation system. When the Technician arrived to winterize the system and replace the valve he had some cooked up reason why he wouldn't replace the valve this winter. He told me "if you sign up for Spring Start Up I'll include replacing the valve" I asked him what was included with "Spring Start Up" and he said "we open the water valve and start the system and check for issues." There wasn't a single thing he mentioned that I wasn't capable of doing. However, I agreed that if he'd replace the valve I'd sign up for the spring start up. When the technician left I noticed there was nothing written on my receipt about the valve. I called Automatic Rain Lawn and Sprinkles and was assured that if "Curt" the tech who came out said he'd "replace that valve in the spring then he would because he is our most tenured employee." So with that being said I rested easy and waited for spring. When it came time for start up the same technician came out to perform the service and replace the valve. Not once was anything mentioned that there could be any sort of additional cost incurred and clearly that is what I expected considering what I was promised by front desk lady and my buddy Curt (I'm not sure we're still buddies). After a few months I received a bill in the mail including labor and parts. I called that lovely front desk clerk again to discuss what we had previously talked about during my winterization. She told me that she would contact the technician and get back to me within 24 hours. A month went by and I figured they had realized their mistake and I should think no more of it. I received another bill in the mail with only the cost for the part. I called the front desk clerk and explained that this is not something I was going to be paying for. I had been promised that if I signed up for the Spring Start Up the valve would also be included in that service. The front desk clerk was very rude and nasty she told me that there is no way that that is what was explained because she "knows" the tech and he would "never" use words like that. She didn't say I was a liar but it sure seems like that's what she was getting at. She had the tech call me and when he did I explained that because of his lack of proper communication, this would not be a bill I would be willing to pay. And that I would happily see him in small claims court if he felt that that is what needed to be done so that we could resolve this. I would recommend TLC Incorporated for all of your Irrigation needs. They were very helpful over the phone and I am excited to have them come out and "Quote" me for adding zones.

The issues I described in my original review were frustrating, especially the missed appointments and lack of communication. That said, the company has been much more responsive and communicative since then, and they have gone above and beyond to address my concerns. I appreciate the accountability and the effort they've shown. My original experience still happened, but I also think it's fair to recognize that they have worked hard to regain my trust.

This was the second time that we discovered that our sprinkler system was leaking after Campbell worked on it. In late 2023, their poor workmanship resulted in leaks so severe that Campbell had to generate a letter for us to send to the water company confirming that it was their fault that our water usage was so high- and not ours- so that we could ask for an adjustment to our bill. In 2025, we hired them again (I know, shame on us) to do our spring service on April 16th. The next day, we discovered that the system was leaking where Campbell had replaced a solenoid, so we immediately contacted their office to request that someone come out and quickly correct the problem. Their admin told us she would get us scheduled ASAP, but then we didn't hear from her, or anyone else in Campbell's office, for a week. On April 23rd, she finally emailed us to tell us that Campbell was unable to come fix the damage they had caused until May 8th- more than three weeks from the initial job that they botched. We called asking speak to one of the owners, Colby, but no one ever responded. On the morning of the 24th, having not received any response, I filed a formal complaint with the Virginia State Corporation Commission. I emailed the office Thursday the 24th, to advise that we had been trying unsuccessfully to elicit any kind of response from Campbell, and requested again that Colby contact me, as I had worked with him before. Their admin told me he was "in the field" and unavailable. She asked if we would be at home over the weekend so that Campbell could send a crew to fix their work, and I confirmed that we could make ourselves available. A couple of hours later, she rescinded that offer, claiming that they were "fully booked." I called to let her know that I had filed a complaint with the SCC, and she shrieked at me and hung up. After not hearing from Campbell for another four days, I emailed the other owner, Taylor, directly on April 28th to ask him to contact me. He never responded. Instead, their awful desk admin replied to me on April 29th claiming that I had reported Campbell to the "Business Bureau" (I assume she meant the "Better Business Bureau," which was false anyway, as it was the SCC) and that she interpreted that as a change in our "desire to keep the appointment," and asking me to clarify. I asked her AGAIN to have Taylor or Colby contact me, and left both of my phone numbers and my schedule. She claimed, despite their inordinately "busy" schedule, that they were both at a conference, but assured me they would contact me the next day. She then emailed me on the 30th to claim that their travel had been delayed, but assured me (again) that one of them would contact me the following day. Finally, on May 1st Taylor actually called me. I ran him through the entire summary, and he claimed he would get it fixed, and also sent me a follow-up text message claiming that he would be in touch the next day. Anyone who has read this far will know what's coming next: Taylor in fact, did not contact me the next day, May 2nd. Instead, he sent me an invoice for the still-incomplete work. Campbell didn't correct leaks in our system until May 8th, and when the tech arrived, he expressed total confusion regarding why it took weeks to send someone to complete less than 30 minutes' worth of work. Oh, but don't worry- Taylor texted me the very next day to eagerly check on the status of his payment. At this point, I was done chasing him and his company, and sent him his ever-so-precious, ever-so-sought-after check for payment in full, along with a letter expressing how disappointed we were. Save yourself the hassle and don't hire these people. But DM me if you want to see even more details, including the screenshots and time stamps for all the times I tried to get them to actually do their job.

Once the landscape architect, Zach, arrived he immediately listened to our concerns about our yard and then asked what we would like to have done as well. He mapped out a plan for our yard, gave us options, and helped us prioritize. We liked the plan but knew we had to wait to start on a part of it because of utility work on the house too. Zach got us in sooner on the other part of the work not affected by the utility work and needless to say, we are VERY pleased. Did I tell you he listened to us? Our many questions and emails were responded to promptly and his answers were clear. The work so far is beautiful. I will keep you all posted about the final outcome of our project.

I was so disappointed with Bruce and Denison Landscaping. May 22, 2024 Bruce came by to take photos…read moreso I could get an estimate for irrigation system. Unfortunately I did not hear from Bruce for some time. Bruce finally text me back june 3rd and stated the following, "Hey, John, sorry for the delay. Frankly the quality of the grass that you have there scares Me a little bit so we will not be providing a quote for this work. It is superior, 4 inch of lush. The best I've seen." I've asked others if they've ever heard of a company providing this excuse, and of course no one has. I can understand why the company has poor review. I would not recommend your company for anything.
