I made an appointment to have my refrigerator checked. It was preforming poorly. The technician stated that the control was in need of a replacement. He quoted a price of approximately $349. He would have to order the part. He stated that he will call me within 20 mins to 1 hr. He never called. I also never received my email receipt. He stated it takes hrs! I had another company come to my house. A brand new control cost $500. He was honest to say that it wasn't worth it. Purchasing a new refrigerator would be the better choice. I'm certain the B & A Appliance was waiting to find a used control to sell it to me. That's why they only give you a 90 day warranty. NO business ethics. They came to fix my oven, said they needed an expensive part and would order it. Called them after weeks, they hadn't ordered it. Finally the part came, they came to my apartment and then said it was the wrong part. They left, then said they needed to come back one more time to check what was needed, then never showed up. Went to the store and spoke with Jay, took my info and said he would come to my home the next day between 1-6pm. Next day I called to confirm at 2:15, women had no record of my appointment. She called back ten minutes later and said Jay would be there by 6. Called back store at 6:10 left message, Jay calls me and said he would at my home in a half hour. 7:05 I call Jay said he still with a customer, didn't believe him. They came the same day we called and replaced a faulty ignitor on an old Dacor stove at a very reasonable cost. I was amazed!

TERRIBLE, would not recommend to anybody. Recently had a horrible experience with a burner repair in which the technician spent 5 mins, broke off the top of the one of the screws securing the burner and informed me that he would need to get another part and somebody else to help him drill out the screw. After three last minute cancellations by the technician which took over 2 weeks, I had enough and went with another appliance repairman who promptly showed up on the time and date he promised and fixed it. As is often the case with repair services, it depends on who you get. We had one guy come out who got confused and left. But then Joaquin came out and he was awesome. He figured out the problem very quickly, was as nice as can be, and returned exactly when he said he would. When he came back with the parts he needed, Alex was also with him, and Alex was also fantastic. So if you have a washer or dryer issue, and ask for Joaquin or Alex, you'll be in good hands. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews but unfortunately my recent experience with B&A warranted one. While their technicians are lovely and seem to definitely know their stuff, the overall customer service experience has been terrible. The staff answering their phones have repeatedly messed up my details re: scheduling appointments and despite multiple polite requests for a callback for a final assessment of my malfunctioning dryer, I have still received nothing. Unfortunately I'll be using another company in the future which is a pity given how obliging and knowledgable their technicians seem. read more

Absolutely irresponsible people, you can leave your phone and address and wait for them to never call you back. Their service is not good either. Got a refurbished stove from them years ago and got problems with the oven right from the beginning and they sent a guy more than twice that didn't fix it,so I finally gave up. I've never written a Yelp review before, and I am generally sympathetic to small businesses, but my experience with B&A was too bad to keep to myself. B&A supplies my landlord with refurbished refrigerators. My experience with these fridges is that they're cheap and last typically 6-8 months (by comparison, the lifespan of a well-maintained fridge is supposed to be about 13 years). As a tenant, this is already a nightmare. But scheduling an appointment with B&A to fix a broken part is absolutely insane. We're talking about appointments made and never followed through with, being berated by the B&A dispatcher, and chronically late repairmen who go one or more hours over the time frame initially given. In the last week, our fridge broke down and needed a repair (eventually a replacement)--I would say I sunk about 10 hours taking off work to wait for B&A repair, and wasted about $90 in spoiled groceries. If B&A was even remotely invested in doing right by their customers, this would be "sh*t happens" scenario. But the consistently shoddy service and inability to answer basic questions or make right by their mistakes makes me feel that B&A is knowingly exploiting its customer base. With that said, the repairman that eventually showed up was great, helpful, understanding, if not overworked. This leads me to believe this is a problem with the management. To those giving 5 stars: some of you outright say that you use B&A to supply your small businesses or rental units. If that's the case, shame on you. I am cross-posting this with B&L appliances, the same company but listed another name. Which brings me to another point: the whole setup of the company is confusing, with two phones going to the same dispatcher, alternately listing the company as B&A and B&L, and labels on the fridges reading "Prispect Ave." I'm not sure if this is a horribly inept business, or a downright predatory one. read more

We called B & A to get the washer and dryers for our building serviced. Joaquin and Stewart came the very next day and did a great job of assessing each washer and dryer and serviced and cleaned them. They were very pleasant and thorough and we will continue to use this company whenever we need appliance servicing. Everything working great now and pricing was very reasonable. Avoid this shop: Although the people in the shop seemed nice enough when I stopped by to schedule a belt replacement for our stacking dryer, the repairman who showed up was grossly incompetent. The day he was scheduled to come he was late, so the shop gave me his cell number to speak with directly. I called the man and rescheduled for the next day; I also told him the type of machine (a stacking, gas-powered Frigidaire) so that he could be better prepared. When he showed up the next day, he appeared to be in a great hurry. Without looking to see what the tolerances were, he immediately began shoving the dryer backwards, attempting to shift its position on top of the washing machine, and promptly crushed the exhaust vent pipe. Not being able to shift the dryer forwards, he attempted pry up the machine with a phillips screw driver- and dented the face plate. I pointed out what he was doing, and asked him where his helper was- I had given information about the machine, surely he would know that help was needed? He answered by criticizing the workers who had installed it, saying "They didn't know what they were doing" (the original installers were stellar- professional and neat to perfection), put his screwdriver back in his bag, and practically ran out of the door while telling me that I should "Find someone else to repair it if I wasn't happy with him". Indeed. Extraordinary lack of professionalism, and now I have two more things to repair on this machine. Don't let this shop into your home! read more

I bought a 2nd hand washer from than and on the first they the machine was washing fine but by the time it was time to rinse omg It started to shaking like we were having an earthquake ! They came an told me it was just my floor being up evened so I moved it up to a leveled floor and it gotten worse! They even came and changed the machine and still the same nonsense ! Bob, your service man was sent here by our home warranty company. Not only did he have an attitude when he came, he spent very little time trying to diagnose the problem, and he totally misdiagnosed the dryer problem. He told us he didn't know what else it could be so when we said we would have to get someone out here who could find the problem, he got angry and stated that he didn't have to stand here and be insulted and stormed out. He did however cash the check right away. Another repair service came out and found the problem in a matter of minutes. We will never use B & L for anything again read more

I have been a customer at B & L for many years and have had no issues with their service or merchandise. The owners have always been honest and the prices fair. Their son Ariel has joined the team as of last year and I must say i have never met a more customer friendly person in my life. He even goes the extra step to find solutions to any issues my tenants may have. apart from the service provided the only downfall is the delivery guys they tend to be loud and foul mouthed sometimes.my suggestion replace them with guys like Ariel and this business could be five star all the way. read more
