They went out to inspect the job after quoting me a price and stopped responding. I had to find another vendor.

We called two weeks ago to get them to come out and replace a glass pane that broke in our home. We were given a quote but no way to pay for the service. Then when we tried to reach out to them to get confirmation of the job or is and when the work would be done we got zero response from them. Two weeks we waited and there's been zero contact and we had to go find another company to replace the sliding glass door. On top of that the man who came to take measurements of the door was completely dismissive of my fiance and she said he didn't give her any information other than "don't use the door" and " it will be 10-12 days". She said he walked in took the measurements and walked about without ever stopping to hold a conversation about the service request. The office person I spoke to said Brian was out in the field and I would get a call back Sat. Still no response. Completely unprofessional behavior and a over lack of communication. This was such a horrible experience. Such an unprofessional crew that I felt I was in a third world country. When I pointed out some blood stain on the glass, the guy just used his spit to clean it and his jacket arm to wipe it. Yuck! Even after asking multiple times to collect all the broken glass pieces, they did such a sloppy job that there are glass pieces all around. Of course, I was the only one wearing a mask. Even when I asked them to wear a mask, no response! When I pointed out the caulking running down the glass, they said they were not done and would clean everything up before leaving, but first wanted the payment!! The good: This business responds to Yelp requests lightning fast. I was able to easily schedule a residential window repair for next day service. I was told I'd get a call one hour before and set the appointment for 10am. The bad: No one called me an hour before, which is no big deal, but then no one showed up for the service appointment at 10am! I did get a call at 11:32am. The caller didn't say who he was or what company he was with. He literally just blurted out, "You still need the window repair?" Very unprofessional. In fact, they even offered to come that same day, but we weren't available until the next day so they came then. When they came, they actually had the wrong sized glass. They had asked us to measure beforehand and we did, but I guess our door was a less common size. However, they promptly made the swap and got it installed that same day. I was contacted by the Austin Police notifying me that my front store window was smashed and the store was burglarized. This owner was the rudest, ugliest, most unprofessional maintenance person I've ever dealt with. They advertise as 24-hour service, when, in fact, it took a week for a window. Then they wanted to UPCHARGE ME AN EMERGENCY FEE to install it after 5:00 p.m. (bait-and-switch crap). Upon being notified that the window was in, and refusing to pay an "emergency fee" after 5:00 pm to install (some people work 9-5), the folks were already en route, and w/o my knowing had actually gone around the side of the house and installed the window, which was fine. This was in the middle of the workday at 2:30 pm. I shared (via text msg.) that I was presently working and on a Zoom call w/ eight other participants and that I'd call afterwards for remaining payment (only half). This man got ugly, demanding, belligerent and then literally instructed his son to go and REMOVE THE WINDOW from my home. Meanwhile, I'm trying to communicate with him by muting my volume and turning off video w/ no luck as he was getting even more belligerent. Like, I wasn't going to pay my balance, which was only half! I mean, we're talking $175!! This man threatened me and was yelling at me and ended up hanging up on me and then refused to respond when I texted him (after work) that there was an issue with the install. There was glass left all over in and around the window and the window sill, as well as the cardboard and tape that had covered the space w/ no glass. I'll be reporting B&B Plate Glass to the BBB as well. The only reason charges were not disputed to Chase was b/c we needed the window following a break-in and didn't want to start the process over. These guys were awesome! I got drunk and fell into my friends window and was in serious need of fixing it as well as fixing my life. I called these guys and most places charge a $300 emergency fee but they straight up were like "be there in a couple of hours" no emergency fee no hassle. Sure enough 3 hours later they pull up, fix it in 5 minutes and jetted! Super friendly, professional, stress free! I love them. Don't hire this company. I had 3 windows which needed replacement, made arrangements with my tenants who took off of work to be present, and B & B Plate Glass no showed....without any communication. I only found out the day after from the tenants that they never arrived. If you want glass company who is reliable with great customer service, I would look elsewhere. Brien's response isnt the full story as you would imagine. He asked to arrive at 12pm due to rain. I told him to arrive at 1030pm. I called B& B plate glass a week ago for a residential window glass replacement. I was asked to text a picture and received a reasonable estimate in a return text. When I called the office to schedule as requested in the text, is where the problems began. The office gal said she would call me right back, but didn't. I had a missed call that night from the installer. I then called the next morning and spoke to the installer- he said he could come that afternoon and measure and possibly replace the glass. Never showed up or called. I called the office the next morning- the office gal said she would talk to the installer and call me right back. No call back. I called two more times that day and no answer. I tried once yesterday and today with no answer. I am SO disappointed. I will never recommend this company and in the meantime we are a week later with a broken window still. Brien came out to replace a broken window pane in my front picture window - he was fast (came next day), professional, and much less expensive than the two chain store competitors I also received quotes from. I believe his installation fee was close to 1/3 of what another quote asked for. Most importantly he did a great job with my window! He even offered to put extra caulk around my other panes to help reduce rattling/noise since they are old single-pane windows. Would definitely recommend over any of the chain options! read more

We had called B&B Plate Glass to replace the rollers on our sliding glass door. Brien from B & B was on time and friendly. He got to work on the door right away and could tell the replacement rollers he had wouldn't fit. He went to the local Lowes where we had purchased the door and found the correct rollers. Brien was back in no time and had the door back together in no time and made the adjustments so the door would lock properly. There was no extra charge for having to get different rollers. I first tried the local franchise of a national chain: I didn't get the call-backs that were promised, the tech seemed unsure of his own measurements, and there was no sense of urgency. On the other hand: Brien made sure to call in the glass order while he was still working. He was still working because he made sure I had cut-to-size plywood in my door to secure it while we waited for my glass to come in. It was all done in two days.
