Waited for them to come for an hour through insurance and it took another 30 min for him to find a very well indicated parking garage and open the door from the 3d attempt to get the key (though the window was a little open) and another 20 min literally to process the credit card. Searching this page to leave a review, I looked over the reviews other had left and came across one that was stating pretty much what I had to say Our experiences were obviously very similiar. This leads me to believe that since they have the ball in their court (i.e. they have your vehicle) that certain employees have and are taking this "power" they have too far. Taking advantage of people who are at a disadvantage by denying requests for retrieving basic items needed for hygiene or feeding a pet, or just a clean set of clothes. Not every one has the ability to afford rent in the bay area and the problem is only getting worse. The amount of folks forced to live in their vehicle even on a temporary basis has increased significantly in the past few years. Like I said it's only getting worse. Being told it's the law by not allowing any release of property is just simply not true. I don't believe we have laws in this country or this State that purposely inflict undo hardship or further distress on persons already dealing with an awful situation of their vehicle being impounded. This is not Russia or Saudi Arabia or any other place that holds those less fortunate as lesser class citizens denied basic human rights and simple dignity by those who appear to have more power. Using the power in a situation that could have easily been dealt with like human beings were encountering each other in an uncomfortable, unfortunate kind of event instead of a powerful, mean and downright distasteful manner that I and others have certainly been faced with dealing with this tow company. The specifics aren't important, the experience of being subjected to a lesser than reasonable manner harkening to days of evil war lords and their subjects living at there mercy. May I suggest the owners of this company make the investment in sensitivity training for their employees. Have a proper policy and procedure manual drawn up and required reading for all who will be dealing with their customers. Afterall without customers, employees don't get paychecks and businesses do not make a profit. Thank you for the opportunity to have a platform with which I hope to be a catalyst for change for the greater good even if only the portion of our population whose vehicles are impounded for one reason or another. Most of us have grown all too accustomed to disappointment; some more than others. Now I'm not one to get my hopes up, but to the delight of my flickering soul, true to the word, within mere moments he was there. Rockstar, savior, Superhero in reflective trousers. *Darin. His truck appears as a beacon of hope on this overcast morning and I am uplifted. With the speed, drive, and efficiency of a goblin on a rage potion, *Darin has my keys back in my weary hands. He does not know how grateful I am for his work. I want to give him a tip or gift as thanks, but I don't carry cash and the only (socially appropriate) thing I have to give is a gift card. He politely declines but mentions that if I gave him a yelp review, that his boss would compensate him. I called to have a tow truck pick up my car because we had a flat close to home and just turned around and drove our car home. I asked for B & D to tow our car from our house to a local tire shop, because our car does not come with a donut or spare. B and D said a tow truck would be here in 45-60 min. After waiting 1 hour and 40 mins I called back asking where the driver was because the tire shop was closing soon and I didn't think we were going to make it before they closed. The girl who answered the phone said she would call and check location of our driver? Then 10 mins later, after waiting on hold, a different girl who was very rude, said thanks for holding how can I help you? No report or status of where the driver was. I then said - we need to cancel because the tire shop closes in 30 min and the truck is still not here. Girl rudely said fine- I'll cancel. Thank God our car is at home and I'm not sitting on the side of the road. We'll be calling someone else tomorrow. read more

I called these folks after Triple A provided me with 2 worthless phone numbers for companies that will supposedly tow a travel trailer (mind you, mine is only 1700 lbs!). These guys will tow anything their truck can lift, and they provide road service (battery, flat tire, lock out, fuel) in addition to towing your trailer/RV to a repair place or transporting your vehicle or RV somewhere. Kinda like what Triple A is supposed to (since I paid them extra dues for trailer AND vehicle service), but actually does not. These guys were awesome. Not only did they come to the storage yard where I store my travel trailer, but Darin lifted my trailer w/the hydraulic lift and helped me troubleshoot the problem with the dolly wheel on the hitch and saved me a tow, added cost for a repair I didn't need, and all the time it would take to get the trailer to and from a repair place. Rear-ended by an 83 year old getting off the freeway. CHP involved because we were still technically on the freeway. They called B & D towing and another company. One for my car and one for the 83 year old. We both needed flatbeds to tow the cars away. B & D was the first and site. They were going to take the other car as it was easier to load, but the CHP officer asked them to take mine as I had my 91 year old mother with me and it was nearly 100 degrees out. As he was loading my car, I asked if I could put my mother in his truck so she could sit in the air conditioning and he said sure. I got her in and after he loaded my car we still had a bit of time before we left. He and my mother chatted. When it came time to get her out of his truck, she nearly fell and he and my husband (who arrived) pretty much caught her. Alvaro was so respectful of my mother and very nice to us as well. Later that day we went to their tow yard to empty my car out and again, they were very nice and helpful. Hopefully I don't need another tow for a VERY LONG TIME but if I do I will use them again. read more

So obviously nobody likes getting towed... We've been towed from our apartment buildings 4 times due to there not being enough parking on the street or there being any visitor spots. We were only assigned one spot, and we have two cars. So as you see, we have a problem. Well this time when we were towed I went in, paid the fee, and we got to chatting with the owner (or manager, not sure but she was in charge) and she noticed how many times we've been there and decided to cut us a break and gave me some of my money back. Seriously getting towed sucks, but when the people doing it are merely doing their job, they really don't have to be sorry.. but they were and really showed that they cared. Left my car outside of a bar so I didn't drink in and drive. When I was able to get a ride back from Antioch to get my car I discovered it was towed. Cost $320 to get it out. They close at 5. I walked in at 504 and was charged an extra $198 for "after hours". Yes $200 because of 4 minutes. Here I was being responsible and it cost me $320. I have a lot of disabilities so I don't work much. $320 is the amount of a whole check for me. I will never recommend this place to anyone! Fee for everything. Surprised there wasn't a charge for using their pen to sign the paperwork. read more

What should have been a $125 tow skyrocketed, we called other local tow companies to compare rates. To make matters worse when I called to see how much the car would be to claim they said $345. The next day we picked the car up and it shockingly jumped to $560. This is misleading and dishonest. I would NEVER recommend this unethical business to anyone. I actually was contacted after leaving the previous post and I ended up receiving the best customer care/support I've encountered in a long time, you would have thought you were speaking to a VIP host at a 5 star hotel. So the tow company is not responsible for stealing my stuff after all and they were more than willing to show me a time table with their corresponding GPS log to show exactly how long they were in possession of the vehicle and exactly where it went and at what times. So not only did they more than clear their name they actually proved that (companies name will not be mentioned for legal reasons) were responsible for the theft and proved they blatantly lied to my face. This company has an evacuation agreement with our residential complex. Once my parking space was blocked by an unfamiliar car, so I parked my car near the house, where all cars are temporarily parked, from arriving delivery services to guests of the complex. Yes, there is a red line, but no others, these lines are drawn simply because someone wanted to. No, I repeat, no fire hydrants, exits, and so on there. And my car, which was four feet from the red line, became the object of the company's earnings. In general, the car was evacuated. In 45 minutes of parking and evacuating the car, they demanded almost $ 350 (half a month of spending on food for my family). And when we called the car thief to take someone else's car from our place, he came up and said that he could not pick it up, since it was not on the red line (it looks like someone has problems with logic). I attach a photo of the wonders of the marking in the parking lot. And also a photo of a damaged bumper, perhaps the car was driven on the rear wheels, so the bumper was pulled. I highly recommend that you return your money back. We talked with the manager of the complex, she said that you can leave cars there for a while. read more

Unfortunately, i have to give one star, but i wouldn't even give any. I just got yelled by a guy who is answering the phone. He sounded really angry. The car parked at my parking spot at my apartment complex. So i had to park my car at the red curb expecting the towing car was coming soon. That was at 8 pm, right now it is 10.32 and the towing car is still not here. My husband called them during this time 3 times, and then in the end i had to call my self. So i don't think the towing car will ever come. They guy answering the phone is absolutely doesn't know how to handle multiple phones and how to solve problems and especially what is the customer service. He was rude and yelling!! My car was towed in Lafayette Friday night less than half a mile. B&D charged me $355 for towing plus storage plus a gate fee. The car was not stored at all, because it was still on the tow truck when I picked it up 5minutes after it was towed. I have no idea how they justify a gate fee. I was in a unsafe area on the freeway and was told by another company it would be over an hour before they could get to me. I would give BD 5, except that the dispatcher on the phone is such a pain. I had a failure on 680 S at morning rush hour ! Struggled to move to the side - it was a harrowing experience. Googled the nearest European shop, called a few to set an appointment. Got one. Called BD Towing. Told the dispatcher that the shop is on 10th Ave, Walnut Creek. She freaking refused to take '10th ave' as an address. Insist on a business name or an 'address' as she calls it and totally gave me a hard time that it has to be an 'address'. Even when I told her I will ride with the driver. All this refusal in the middle of 680 S rush hour I think this person should work walmart checkout and not dispatching calls and customer facing. Driver was excellent, courteous and even shook his head when I told him about the '10th Ave story'. In fact there's less than 20 units on 10th Ave and mostly car shops. For all this stress she quoted me $140 for a 5 min ride. One would guess if you are going to charge $140 - you'd cut the distressed customer some slack read more

Left at a leisurely pace before driving into the neighboring lot for the same thing so I do not feel like he was looking for anyone. My car wasn't able to start I left it overnight in a parking lot, the next morning I had a call from Song asking about the specs on my car, it's a C63 AMG that had a front lip which caused the car to be lower and it couldn't go on a regular tow so he brought his other truck and quickly loaded my car. We had 2 breakdowns in 2 days. The car, a Porsche, was in our driveway and very difficult to tow because of the location. Our battery was dead, so we could not even turn the car. Jesse was simply fantastic! The next day, the car had to be towed because the key would not operate. The car was now in the garage. The tow man was suoerb! (I can't remember his name). However, there was a very slight bit of damage to the low fender which occurred on a very very difficult turn the truck had to make. RIchard at B & D called us several times. He arranged to have the damage repaired at Elite Auto Body in Concord. They were also great!. But all kudos to Richard and the guys at B & D...if everyone treated thier customers like they do, what a happy place we would be living in! read more
