Chain restaurants can be hit or miss, so I was pleasantly surprised with the quick service, cleanliness, and delicious food at Mo's. I ordered the Crispy Fried Shrimp entree which came with a cup of clam chowder and fries. The side of cocktail sauce complemented the shrimp perfectly, and the fries were piping hot and crispy as well. To top it off, the restaurant offers gorgeous views of the Columbia River. Now I have been to ALL the MO's restaurants. A beautiful site to relax, have lunch and watch the ships go by. A tad windy today so we got a window seat inside and didn't miss a thing! I have been going to Moe's since I was a kid and now I'm bringing my kid. Growing up we always went to the SIletz bay location but now as an adult we frequent the Astoria location. The food is always consistent. The service is usually on point and the atmosphere is what you would want. There is a pretty view almost anywhere you sit. I am very nostalgic for Moe's, it never disappoints us. I believe Moe's to be falling into a new food trend specifically in the Northwest, where it has became underrated as a great place, because so many people say its overrated. It's not. Its a great classic seafood restaurant. Great chowder, great fish and shrimp. Our family loves the grilled cheese. Highly reccomend getting that and dumping it in some chowder. read more

I had originally wanted the Mexican restaurant that was nearby, but somehow ended up in the parking lot for Mo's - it was cold and rainy and what else is more perfect on a day like that than fish and chips? Inside, I discovered something I was unaware of that I needed in my life - a banana slug plush! I was seated rather promptly with a great view of the water! I know it's a chain and touristy, but the recent reviews for chowder were all great so we decided have lunch here. We had the chowder with shrimp bread bowl and a child's portion of halibut and fries. That left room for the Marion berry cobbler. Our server was Jennifer and she was great. Usually when my family and I hit the coast, we like to stop at Mo's since it's always been one of our favorites for chowder. Over the years, we've noticed the food at some locations (like Seaside and Cannon Beach) has lost a bit of flavor, so we weren't sure what to expect this time. Best fish and chips I've had in years. The clam chowder was mild and delicious (I don't like it when it's really fishy tasting). I went with a large group, and despite all the orders coming in at once, the food came out quickly. Our server was a pro and answered all of our questions and made our visit very smooth. Finally visited our local Mo's - took my adult family here. We really enjoyed our meal here. The halibut fish and chips is hard to beat. My son got the platter. He liked it, but fried clams, I dunno, seems like its always half clams, half pieces of fried batter. The fries are great here! I'm not a fan of the chowder, for me its too thick/chalky with too many potatoes. But my mom LOVED it. Fortunately I was able to opt for a salad instead of chowder, and my salad was super-fresh, tasty and the blue cheese dressing was good. You have options! We had a window table and were able to watch the fascinating array of shipping traffic go by. Our server was fantastic. Prices were about what you might expect in a 'touristy' restaurant (i.e. up there) with great views. Lots of Mos gift items available. Interesting historical stuff in the entry way (like a menu from the 50's) If you're visiting, certainly worth a stop from some fish and chips and the lovely view. read more

A good meal, not a stand out though. The fish and chips were the highlight tonight with nicely breaded cod and very good fries. The side salad was also fresh and decent sized. The cannonball chowder was just ok. It just felt it was missing something taste wise and the sourdough was a bit on the dry side. Our onion ring appetizer was also good, but could have used a bit more ranch than provided on the fish plate. Our server was Nate and kept up on drinks and such. The interior of the place consists of wood tables and wood bench seats. Nothing special, and designed to get you out sooner than later due to discomfort on the toosh. We enjoyed the oyster shooters. Be careful the horseradish is on the bottom. The shrimp was piled high on cabbage with a creamy garlic sauce. Then we order the beer battered halibut. The fish was thick and tender. The beer batter was tasty. The chips were slightly crunchy on the outside but a nice size for dipping. We were greeted by two different individuals coming into the restaurant very friendly. Our waitress was also very friendly and efficient. We had an enjoyable lunch with a view of the water.
