I expressed concern about this many times. The salesman was defensive & the owner was dismissive. Received a $250 discount (2.6% of the contract price). With all the prep work I did to my empty house (no furniture, no flooring, most light fixtures removed), the crew had very little to remove or cover before painting. I was replacing wall plate covers this week & found that the cable plates in the living room & master bedroom as well as the light switch plate in the laundry room were NOT removed, but just painted around--more evidence of the lack of quality control & attention to detail on my house. I paid them to paint my house last month; now I'm painting areas that were intentionally not done by their crew. Working with Southern Painting is not worth the hassle & dissatisfaction. I'll definitely be hiring another company for any future painting projects.

what a fabulous painting company! i needed some touch-up work that needed to be done from a…read moreprevious painting job. first, victor came by to note all that needed to be done. he patiently followed me to each room, carefully noting all my concerns and those particular areas that needed to be painted. the painters came the next day, along with victor. victor put blue tape on every area that needed attention. the painters worked diligently and finished in less than 3 hours. they cleaned up, putting my heavy paint pails back in the garage. they were happy to open my windows, when i requested. and most of all, the painting job was impeccable! the paint on my doors had no streaks, painted very smoothly. they masterfully filled in some big holes on one of my doors. i've used this company before and will continue to call them with all my painting needs. thank you atd painting, again!

We had DFW Painting repaint our entire house after we purchase it. This included walls, ceiling,…read moretrim, and some cabinets. They also repaired some large drywall cracks and gaps that opened up due to recent foundation work, as well as two water-damaged windowsills. Our project manager was Damien. Our painting crew was led by Victor. Quote -- they were in the middle of the range, about 1/2 as much as the most expensive quote. The quote process was much more of a "consultation" where he explained all the work and repairs in detail and why each one was necessary. Other companies were just about getting to the final price as quickly as possible, instead of helping us understand each element of work necessary. Quality of work -- house was painted exactly to plan. There was some confusion about one room with a complicated roof line, but after a quick conversation with our project manager we sorted it out without extra expense or time spent. Timing -- The crew finished up a day ahead of schedule. We did not require any touch-ups. Cleanup -- No issues. The house was mostly free of dust and there were only a few "drips" that all came up with some scrubbing. All furniture was protected. Damien is highly professional and very detail-oriented. We were very happy with the work done.

Around 9:00 AM, someone called me to schedule an appointment for the following week. I did schedule for the following week because I honestly thought they were a different painting company, since I had contacted several and also had other estimates being scheduled. I never heard her clearly say she was calling to reschedule today's confirmed appointment. She may have thought she explained that, but the communication of that critical piece was very vague and brief. A proper introduction should have been something like: "Hi, this is Elizabeth with DFW Painting. I know we have you scheduled today at 10:00 AM, but unfortunately we need to reschedule due to..." That would have made the situation clear. That is a basic and proper opening line for something like this. Because her communication was so unclear, I didn't even realize she was canceling today's appointment and that they were the ones that were already scheduled to come. I am an executive who communicates via email, virtually and in person every day. I am well-versed in proper communication. That confusion and lack of professionalism is why I decided not to move forward with them. Communication is paramount.
