I stopped here in my way to st Simon's because I ate here many times when I lived in Brunswick. I got a table quickly which was a surprise because they were very busy. I debated between shrimp and oysters and the buffet. I chose the buffet because the menu indicated there was lots of different seafood the buffet and I was hoping for some vegetables too. Big mistake. There was no oysters, no scallops and only one vegetable, green beans. There was a small salad bar, so I did have some of that. The best thing was the fried shrimp and the shrimp in the shrimp boil. The deviled crab was not good.Sigh, I paid a huge amount of money and was so disappointed. The interior has not been updated at all, which was a surprise as popular as it is. Learned a hard lesson....look at the buffet before you order it. Today we stopped into B&J's for lunch. I had the shrimp and my husband and son both had the buffet. There was fried fish and fried chicken on the buffet along with green beans, cabbage, Mac and cheese, rice, beans, biscuits etc with apple cobbler and ice cream for dessert. The shrimp here are excellent and always fresh. They do a dinner buffet on Friday and Saturday that has quite a bit of seafood on it as well as steaks, sausages, chicken etc. the dining room is just about always busy as it's a really popular place but the waitresses take good care of everyone. It is not a romantic spot or particularly good for small kids (crowded busy dining room with lots of people carrying buffet plates) but is perfect for people who want really good food at a good price and anyone who appreciated fresh shrimp. read more

We've been several times for their fried chicken buffet at lunch time and it is consistently good. I am not a huge fried chicken fan but I will happily eat their fried chicken any time. A pretty good selection with fried chicken, fried pork chops, pulled pork for proteins with mashed potatoes, gravy, mac & cheese, lima beans, collard greens and biscuits for sides. Now, this is a southern seafood buffet! My family and I have been coming here for a few years now. We drive from Jacksonville to eat here. The fried fish and shrimp are to die for, and the mac and cheese are among my favorites. If you want to eat the buffet, you must get there early or expect to wait a reasonable amount of time. Hushpuppies were good, nice and crispy but don't eat too many or you won't be able to finish those shrimp! Also had some cole slaw, again pace yourself. A couple in our party had the crab legs and declared them wonderful! If you travel with someone who likes crab legs, be patient, they take some time but they were pretty outstanding. They had a light, but crunchy batter on them. The fries were good, but a bit on the greasy side. The hush puppies were awesome. Locals definitely know about this place, but not many tourists there the day we went. The staff knew a lot of the regulars by name, and were awesome. The buffet and salad bar looked simple, but good. What a presentation...shrimp on a platter, mounded high, atop a pile of crispy French fries. They were delicious, not over breaded, most importantly, not overcooked Firm sweet meat & did I mention HOW MANY!? There must've been 40+ shrimp, we lost count ($30 including two side dishes). Our smart local-knowledge friends' ribeye was also ginormous, 1 1/2" thick & had to have weighted 2 pounds ($43 w 2 sides) They'll be eating on that hunk for days!
