My wife & I took a little trip up from St. Simons to check out The Fish Dock for lunch. It's about a 50 minute ride if you take Hwy 17. Haley was our server and she did an awesome job in making sure our beers were cold & full as well as asking if we were enjoying our meal. We started out with the peel & eat shrimp. It was a bit different than what I was expecting. The order was more like a BBQ shrimp style. Meaning the shrimp were in a sauce (Old Bay, Butter & Tabasco) more like what you get in New Orleans. The flavor was great but be prepared to use napkins!! For our entrees I had 3 fish tacos (blackened mahi mahi) along with sweet potato fries. Excellent! My wife had the fish bites and asked for mahi mahi ($4 up charge) which were cooked just right along with French fries. She said her food was very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is right on the water with excellent views and has that shabby chic feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lunch on a Thursday afternoon was not busy but cool to experience. I would say on a Friday or Saturday night this place is busy!! I will definitely be coming back and I'll bring some of our friends from Atlanta too!! Thanks for a nice day trip!

Went yesterday for lunch. The service was great. Her recommendations were spot on. Fresh claim and I had the special and seafood so fresh and well prepared! We will be going back again.

Husband had the shrimp plate & I had the salad & baked potato. He said everything was great of what he ordered & my baked potato was pretty good too. Only thing I would change, is the potato seemed a lil over cooked. I like to eat the skin of the potato and this one I was not able to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great salad, flavor and great service, beautiful atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend & we will go again.

This restaurant is really off the beaten path deep into a neighborhood. The parking lot is in front on dirt and rocks. The restaurant is huge inside. Lots of outdoor seating as well. It is a very old seafood restaurant. The service was good. However, my server had pimple patches that were peeling off her face. Pimple patches should be worn at night while sleeping not during the day at work. I was almost afraid the patch was going to fall off her face into our food or drinks. The view of the water is beautiful. It is relaxing to sit outside in a netted covered room while viewing the water. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are disgusting!! The food is very bland. It seems this is more of a local only type of restaurant. We felt out of place.

Arrived at 6:15 pm we were seated promptly and by a window perfect!! Then it went downhill, hardly anyone in the restaurant and we waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and then only after they overheard one of our party question should we leave? Received beverages 20 minutes after arrival 10 minutes later the server came to take our order, 15 minutes later after other customers who were seated after us have already received drinks and their food , our appetizer arrived only one in our party got one , They did ask the server to bring it out first , we guessed they figured everyone else would wait for the entrees as well, the crab stew they said was very good and tasty. We all wished we had gotten it but they shared the oyster crackers with us ! So 20 minutes later the food arrived the shrimp were good grits a little stiff broccoli was good, Cole slaw fresh. So we paid at 7:55 and left Not really sure what was going on different servers were carrying food out to the tables around us the whole time we just had the one server only one person got a refill . Shame

This is a nice hometown feel restaurant. I did not stay as I did a call in order. The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious. Had the crab stew and it was full of crab, and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp and grits also very good. I will definitely be back. Next time I think we will eat there.

Glad to see the restaurant reopened. Staff was friendly and service good. You can't miss with the crab stew and fried local shrimp. My favorite this time of the year is a bucket of local wild oysters! Worth the trip! Will be back!

Great food and views! We stumbled upon it while traveling to Tampa, it is a little out of the way but rustic and good eats.

I debated between shrimp and oysters and the buffet. I chose the buffet because the menu indicated there was lots of different seafood the buffet and I was hoping for some vegetables too. Big mistake. There was no oysters, no scallops and only one vegetable, green beans. There was a small salad bar, so I did have some of that. The best thing was the fried shrimp and the shrimp in the shrimp boil. The deviled crab was not good.Sigh, I paid a huge amount of money and was so disappointed. The interior has not been updated at all, which was a surprise as popular as it is. Learned a hard lesson....look at the buffet before you order it. The shrimp here are excellent and always fresh. They do a dinner buffet on Friday and Saturday that has quite a bit of seafood on it as well as steaks, sausages, chicken etc. the dining room is just about always busy as it's a really popular place but the waitresses take good care of everyone. It is not a romantic spot or particularly good for small kids (crowded busy dining room with lots of people carrying buffet plates) but is perfect for people who want really good food at a good price and anyone who appreciated fresh shrimp.

When we arrived, we were asked if we were OK if the service was a bit slow that night. Since we drove a bit out of the way from Brunswick we were not leaving, but it gave us extra quality family time with the daughter who was visiting. After ordering the wife and daughter went outside to take in the view of the water and look around. Maybe we were just having a great time, or were prepared to wait forever, but once the food came out, we all agreed it wasn't as long as we thought it would be. I ordered the whole fired flounder platter with Oysters,h ush puppies and fried Okra. Everything was perfectly cooked. And as you can see from the pictures I provide the flounder itself was stunning. I also ordered onion rings which were fresh, large and incredible. The Daughter ordered the Founder dinner, and again, just a absolute beautiful cooked piece of fish. The wife order the Grouper Plate, which was probably the least favorite dish of the 3 as she got it blackened, and it was not as well prepared as the other dishes. Overall a very successful dinner night out

Chef Jerome is a piece of SE Georgia history and makes some fantastic food. From the moment we pulled up to the restaurant, Chef Jerome came out and greeted us with hugs and assurances that he was going to take good care of us. The building is eclectic, quirky, rustic, and several more adjectives - but never off-putting. It is comfortable.... When you walk in, you really get a feel for the history of this place - particularly from the tens of thousands of photos that decorate the walls (virtually all of them) throughout the restaurant. There are pictures of locals, travelers and even several celebrities that have feasted at the Diner. Ben Afflect's picture is featured all over the restaurant as he frequents this place whenever he is in town (he even has his own autographed chair hanging on the wall). We were seated in the VIP room and presented with a menu with several good southern dishes from deviled crab, oysters, scallops and of course shrimp to ribs, porkchops, steaks and burgers. They are known for their Wheelchair Platter - which serves 2, 3, or 4 people. This is a collection of things that the Chef has selected for you including fried shrimp, fish, hushpuppies, pork chops, Mac 'n cheese, and other treats. Comes with slaw and potato salad (both fantastic), We ordered the platter for 2 - and it did not disappoint. We also got the sweetpotato logs with a cinnamon dipping sauce (wow!). First - those were some of the best hushpuppies I've ever eaten. Crispy on the outside but fluffy with bits of corn on the inside. yum. Everything else was cooked to perfection. Once we had eaten, Chef Jerome came out and took some pictures (for the wall of course) and had us promising (truthfully) to return soon. This place is a little out of the way. It's down a dirt road and looks a little rustic - but you will be very pleasantly surprised once you go in and let Chef Jerome take care of you. A Definite recommendation! Don't miss this treasure!
