Deciding we're done with Marco's our son-in-law recommended Lexy's. Just a couple miles down the road from our hotel so we thought "Why Not!?". After perusing the menu online we found the Neapolitan pizza. (My wife kept calling it the Napoleon) It looked tasty and all the reviews we read mentioned that the quantities of the toppings on all their pizzas were insane. I was hungry. It was a perfect fit. Fast forward about 20 minutes and we arrived to pick up our pizza. There's some seating and table for diners-in. Nothing extravagant, but enough for people who don't want to haul the pizza back to the hotel/home/girlfriend's house/workplace/crematory. Our pie was hot and ready, so pickup was fast. First thing I noticed about this pizza was the weight. It was not light. in fact, it was HEAVY. It also made the car smell great on our way back. When you're as hungry as I was that smell was better than the new car scent that the car wash put in my car earlier that week. Pizza in hand, a bucket of ice and a couple bottles of Dr. Pepper® later and we're ready for food. Holy HELL, this pizza was amazing! Sausage, mushroom, onion, green pepper, and mozzarella never tasted so good. Seriously. This was fantastic. We ordered a large pizza because....pizza. Usually there's a piece or two left over. Not this time. I don't know the story behind Lexy's and I don't know how long it's been there, but I do know that this was, hands down, the best pizza I've ever had in Ft Wayne. The team was very friendly. The place was clean and welcoming. My carry out order was done in 15 minutes! I ordered a 14" supreme pizza for $18.50. They have 10", 14" and 16" sized pizzas. It appears that they have 11 specialty type pizzasto choose from. I didn't see a menu - so no picture for you. They don't have a website. Yelp has a menu for your review. I didn't see any gluten free options. I also believe they only have one type of crust. I did order this pizza as carry out. I had a 25 minute drive home. The aroma of the pizza was very tempting. I was disappointed that the pizza had lost a decent amount of heat during the trip home. The crust is a "thin" hand tossed. It has the softness and consistency of a hand tossed pizza. However, it is really thin...almost like a thin crust pizza. I really liked this texture. The crust was cooked such that the middle was soft with enough firmness that you could pick it up. Only a slight brown color. The pizza edges were a little more crisp without being burnt. The crust was a little bit sweet while sporting a plain flour taste. The pizza had an appropriate amount of toppings. They were evenly scattered so that they weren't piled on top of each other - no layers of toppings. The veggies were crisp. The meats were tender with nice pizza Italian flavor - like you would expect. All these toppings were pulled together nicely with a thick bed of tasty mozzarella cheese. The cheese was plentiful and held in the moisture nicely. The pizza sauce was applied out to the edges. It is rather thin in consistency. It added a little bit of sweet tomato flavoring. Definitely no added spicy heat from the sauce. The sauce does a nice job at accenting the heavy bed of cheese. Overall the pizza was really good. The "thin-ish" hand tossed crust has a good appeal. I'm a cheese lover so I really liked the thick bed of cheese! Cold Pizza Test - the next day the middle of the pizza was still soft. The cheese was still tasty, moist and soft. The toppings lost a fair amount of their flavor. The edges of the pizza seemed to toughen up quickly. Overall a good tasty piece of cold pizza!

IYKYK). It's a personal peeve, but both came with canned mushrooms - fresh mushrooms should be a staple for anywhere that's considered a pizzeria. NOTE: smoking is allowed because this is a tavern in Allen County, out of the Fort Wayne city limits. You should consider carry out if you don't want to sit at a folding table in a smoky bar.
