I was so glad to hear that the Pizza King franchise has a new location closer to my family's house in Fort Wayne! I grew up visiting the State Street location, so while I'm staying with my parents, we HAD to try this location! We decided to call in an order on Friday night, which was a great idea since we didn't think about how busy it would be! Good to see a business thriving even thought inside eating isn't really being practiced in Fort Wayne (pandemic situation, you know). The service over the phone was great--very calm even when it was probably busy inside. Even with the place being busy, they requested 30-35 minutes for a pick up order of a pizza and garlic bread (super fast!). I had to do a bit of waiting outside/inside because so many people were there--but even if you order for pick-up over the phone or online, you need to wait in the line (FYI). However, this was moving really quickly. I think even though I was waiting outside for a bit (the people in line were wearing masks and keeping socially distanced), I probably only waited like 15 minutes. After getting home, we heated up the pizza a little bit--it would have been fine, but we wanted it a bit hotter after the 20 minute drive home. While it wasn't the same experience as getting the pizza at the parlor, but the pizza was great! Just what I was hoping for on a dreary Indiana evening! We split a Royal Feast (with no mushrooms--because I'm not a fan of that vegetable), and it was GREAT!! I am really looking forward to going again and trying the Sriracha Ranch Chicken Feast (a bit spicy it seems!), and DEFINITELY getting the Garlic Cheese Bread again. The Garlic Cheese Bread was really soft and a great amount of cheese--do note that there are 2 in an order, so it was a fight for the extra half between the three of us. Instead, I'd get 2 orders next time!! Overall, I love the efficiency and kindness of those working at the parlour--and I can't wait to go back when we can order in! We just moved to Fort Wayne. My husband remembers Pizza King from his youth, so we had to try it. I was wary of the reviews, but we must have hit a good night! Both the thin crust and the pan pizza (not drenched in oil!) were absolutely delicious. All of the toppings were fresh and generous. We didn't like the idea of diced pepperoni, but they were tasty. This is your standard topping American pizza- no goat cheese or fresh basil (darn), but we will order again! read more

I know they had some start up issues with long waits, etc. but what new restaurant doesn't take a little time to work the bugs out? Their pizza is always terrific, as is their sandwiches and salads. The one time I placed an order and it wasn't correct (because they didn't notice the special written instructions on the grub hub ticket) they immediately took care of it. Today, I called and asked for a special favor (I won't say what because they may not want to advertise that they did this) but their manager, Courtney, was super happy to help and it was really appreciated. Every time I go in it's clean and everyone is friendly. And I love the throwback red phones on the wall! Definitely recommend the veggie feast pizza and the breadsticks - they are a household favorite. read more

Very, very slow and they auto-request a tip on carry out orders, which I think is tacky and makes the customer uncomfortable. Pay your workers more and we can avoid the awkwardness!!! The tip options are super high, too, like 18% 20% or 22% as if they got me refills, extra napkins or brought lids for my kids' drinks. I mean they took an order on the phone, and an hour later (though they said it would be 35 minutes) they ask for a 20% tip? That's quite a stretch. Front of the house and back of the house are two different things. Stop blurring lines and do it right. They're also a little too proud of their pizza at the price they're asking. We ordered large one topping pepperoni and it barely had any toppings on it. We also ordered breadsticks with nacho cheese cups. Breadsticks were tasteless and thin. When going inside to pick up, staff was rude and ignoring incoming phone calls saying they can call back. Our order was almost $30.00 and not worth a penny of it. The food was great I love the phones on the tables. The chick serving us was a jerk and took all of our napkins after we wrote the word penis on them. Some people am I right? We also got told no to service at first by Sofia are server. So all in all the only issue was the server we had and I highly recommend that she gets physiological evaluation. I have been going to pizza king for their royal feast since the 70's. I have to say this is the worst one I have ever had. The dough was not proofed (I'm a pastry chef). I went to this new location when they first opened and although the service was slow, the pizza was great. I tried it again today, ordered carry out and was told it would be 15 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later and my order was ready. I got home ( I live 5 minutes away ) and my pizza was cold and there was about half as much sausage as normal. Very disappointed. This visit was an absolute disaster. It started out just fine, but quickly deteriorated. My toddler son and I wanted pizza on Friday night so we stopped at Pizza King on our way home. They were out of milk, which was totally fine. They put ice in my Coke even though I said no ice. Not a huge deal - it happens all the time. Then, we waited what felt like a long time for our pizza. I didn't actually check the clock so who knows. I picked up the phone to see how much longer the pizza would take and was told 35 more minutes, which seemed ridiculous. The pizza came as I was on the phone so I have no clue what the person in the kitchen was talking about. I had ordered the Hawaiian pizza with marinara instead of BBQ sauce. It had BBQ sauce. I asked to have it redone and waited another 15-20 minutes for that? My toddler was getting antsy so I asked to get it to go and got a refill of my drink to go. I told her "Coke no ice" and followed her to the counter. She asked me again what drink I wanted. Again, I told her. She started putting ice in the cup so I had to say "No ice!" again. She did comp me a bit for the pizza and breadsticks, but I can't imagine I'll go to Pizza King again...especially this location. It was just a hot mess at Pizza King tonight. I overheard them saying that 5 staff called in today. Despite the errors, I really don't blame the staff. What is the manager doing that they have five staff out and are letting the other staff suffer for it?? I'm not sure what could be done, but there were a number of disappointed customers tonight and they have lost my business, at least for quite awhile. read more
