Encompass is a cute, definitely wellness based studio right behind Title Boxing. The first class I attended was their Slow Flow Yoga and Sound Bath Meditation. Me, not being a huge fan of yoga unless it's hot or restore, figured this was the perfect class to start with - especially with the addition of the crystal bowls! The class was in the dark with candles and salt lamps. It started with a meditation, moved into slow flow yoga and stretching, and ended cuddled up listening and feeling the sound bath. It was very hearing and olfactory based 45 minutes. At the beginning of class, she gave us drops of essential oils into our hands to smell (they smelled amazing, and I ended up rubbing some into my neck). Throughout class she sprayed scent into the air, and burned incense. She had a chime she played sporadically and the crystal bowls at the end of class, sang and vibrated the body. It was a very unique experience and class, and it was very enjoyable. I felt very relaxed by the end of it. The studio is very cute, and well equipped. They have a ton of weights, mats, bolsters, blocks, straps and other yoga props. On top of the studio, they also have a sauna in the back - the perfect cherry after a wellness class. They do have to compete with Title next door, so at times you can hear the music and instructor on speaker from there. Because of this, the music in Encompass is turned up a little louder, which was just fine by me, but I couldn't hear the instructor very well a few times. I really enjoyed Encompass, and I'll for sure be coming in as much as I can in the next 16 days, but their schedule is a little harder for me to work into my day. Classes are more spaced out and sporadic throughout the day, and if I want to attend a class, I have to plan my entire day better. Their classes definitely have a more wellness-vibe; the majority are yoga based. It's well worth a stop in for some awesome yoga, or relaxation classes. (They do have a few cardio ones as well!)

I just wanted something simple where I can focus on my mental health while reintroducing movement into my daily routine. Something that reminded me of Berkeley without being too Berkeley about it. Encompass really embodies that for me. I'm still trying out classes and looking for the perfect class fit in terms of time and my own schedule but I found the instructors and the other patrons to be friendly, kind, and supportive. It really is a warm and welcoming place, and I think that was the intention from the start. Adaptions are made as needed to poses, support is always offered and they really do feel like they believe that it's your practice, and that you should have the most say on what your body does. I'm not a physical person, I'm not really big on it but honestly, I feel like this was a good fit for me. I think the prices are reasonable but they aren't the cheapest option. However, small classes make it worth the price. The classes offered are at a variety of different times during the week and that does make it easier to find at least one or two classes that you can take the time for. There are a good mix between yoga and cardio classes with meditation sprinkled through out. I really feel like when it comes to yoga studios, you may need to try a few out before you find the one that works for you. But this one was a fit for me right off the bat.

It's a super intimate setting with only four reformers, which I really appreciate because it means more attention and guidance from the instructor. She was helpful, friendly, and welcoming, and guided us thru the movements while still keeping the class challenging. There's parking in the front and streets. I had no issues finding one. I'll def be back for Tuesday Pilates and more of these intimate classes.

These are reformer classes and because they are small sized classes (4 reformers in the studio) each student gets ample attention from the instructor and is able to be corrected on form, ask questions, make modifications, etc. They also have cute pop-ups and collaborations with other small businesses. It is also in the cutest area (I love the Central 9th area) and has free parking. I recommend grabbing a breakfast sandwich next door at Central 9th Market if you're doing a morning class, or some food/drinks at Bar Nohm, The Pearl, Laziz, or Scion Cider if you're doing a night class. Definitely check it out if you haven't, because it's incredible.

Each session had a different theme, but all were relaxing and left me feeling grounded, refreshed, and almost euphoric from the salt in the air. The space is cute and comfortable with chairs you can sit or lay back in. The instructor guided the first half; and then, the second half we were allowed space to just be with our thoughts and emotions. Staff at check-in were friendly and helpful. There's plenty of parking in the lot. Definitely a nice place to reset, so it'll be part of my frequent routine.

Loved my one-hour pilates class led by Candance!…read more The class started with a short warm-up, followed by exercises that targeted different body parts/muscle groups one at a time on a reformer machine. Candance considered everyone's input on what body parts to focus on working out for our session, gave helpful modification tips to each individual, and chose music that wasn't distracting. This Point Pilates location offers plenty of natural lighting and a very clean space. This was my favorite pilates class I've taken at any studio in SLC by far. I have some physical limitations and Candance was able to work with me. While staying safe, I felt challenged, and I learned that having a small class with an instructor who pays attention to each person is invaluable.

I have been practicing at Lifted Life since August. I am a very novice yoga practitioner and every…read moreinstructor has been very patient with me. I'd consider myself quite inflexible from my hips down, but I've never felt "less than" or singled out. On the contrary, Julz, Traci, Deb, and Sue have all been very encouraging of using blocks, bolsters, straps, and modifications so I can still practice the poses they are signaling. I've found yoga is just as much about a journey of self/mindfulness as it is a journey of the physical body. Lifted Life emphasizes this whole approach to yoga - the mental, the spiritual, and the physical. They are good about sharing yoga traditions and teachings without being super "hippie" - I'm trying to say I've never felt uncomfortable, feeling forced to feel or believe one thing or another. This is a very peaceful studio. There are some instructors that are more "power yoga" type than others, but I've found the class descriptions to be very helpful and accurate in finding the class that suits my mood or physical needs/limitations. There are yoga mats to rent. They have lots of bolsters, blocks, and straps so you don't have to bring your own. They also have yoga related books, oils, mats, and other things to purchase in the lobby area. I've found all the instructors take past or current injuries or health conditions seriously. You can often hear the instructor suggesting a modification or sharing a reminder to an individual class member based on a fused spine, a hip injury, scoliosis, growing flexibility, and, of course, pregnancy. They offer only a limited number of evening classes at this time, but that's because evening classes were poorly attended. (I know this firsthand because I love the evening classes.) Julz's evening Light I class is the perfect way to unwind for the day and get ready for bed. Traci's Light I classes are perfect for those of us looking to grow our flexibility and/or strength or who need to practice functional movements. (She has us do chair yoga sometimes which, I'm surprised to find, I actually like every now and again.) Sue's evening Mixed is a great flow class. I've worked with Traci the most and she is a great instructor for any level yoga. Julz is also fantastic. Both give great verbal cues and have extensive knowledge on how to practice yoga for your body in that moment. I'm really grateful I've found Lifted Life. It's been an integral part of my physical and mental health journey this year. I highly recommend it. I have attend yoga classes all over the country and Lifted Life is a treasure. Focusing on making every post accurate and purposeful, inviting new awareness and consciousness, friendship, education, Lifted Life offers all of this and more. Fortunately that meant I was prescribed weekly massage as part of my recovery for a knee injury and sciatica. I worked with Caitlin and she is amazing. Super targeted and effective, I feel like a lot of underlying tightness was addressed and my body's circulation and mobility are now much improved. Honestly the best masseuse I've ever worked with. Before I returned to California, Heather made sure I had a good supply of Chinese herbs so my body could continue to resolve its issues. That really helped since I live in a rural area. Heather's knowledge of herbal remedies is extensive and she is diligent about continuing her education in this area and in all the other disciplines the practice provides. Our whole family attended yoga classes at the clinic and we all enjoyed them immensely as well as improved our strength, flexibility, balance and focus.
