I have wanting to B-Lux since I arrived at Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky. I saw the Milkshakes so huge and upscale, but I was craving a Burger. I only go here as it's convenient, but maybe I should look into delivery more. Waiter Aquaman was great, he was friendly, checked in on us, let us know our food was coming, and even had no issue giving us the allergen binder. The allergens binder showed if something could be made without an allergen or if that was an integral part that couldn't be removed. It didn't give a break down of everything, but more so the meal as a whole. Like it showed the crybaby burger could be made without milk, but didn't show specifically if things like the bun, sauce, or both contained the milk like how Olive Garden gives a full break down. There were empy tables yet it was an hour wait for two burgers. The burgers were also pressed very flat so no way did they actually take long to cook. It was a $5 upcharge to substitute an impossible patty for a normal patty. That's almost enough for an entire burger at Five Guys and the patty was so thin it wasn't all that filling. Drinks were served in plastic cups with lids, not reusable. Normal atmosphere, no wait, and seemed clean. Tasted fine, but not great. read more

The smash burger was definitely all that it was said to be- crispy on the edges but not dry and so tasty, the pub chips were the perfect accompaniment! The pretzel was not only HUGE but SO GOOD, especially with the honey hot dip! The service and ambiance was amazing every time- they were great with my kids and always quick and friendly service. The place was so clean and had a very cool vibe with windows to see right into the water park which was pretty neat! Do you B-long at B-Lux? I B-lieve you do! Just B-ring a lot of money, it's not crazy expensive but my Diet Pepsi (sorry no coke) was 3 bucks, the fry upgrade was also 3 bucks. For a resort restaurant, not bad. I mean it's the Kalahari resort, that means water slides, people are walking around barefoot in the restaurant, good looking people everywhere, you know, fun stuff. It was definitely a nice change of pace and quiet which I did not expect but needed. 2 kids had the cheeseburger and fries and they enjoyed them, 1 had the chicken bites and she devoured those. I went with my son and grandsons My son and I had burger. I had the B_Lux burger and fries. It was a huge 2 burger smash patty with cheese. It was juicy and very tasty . The fries were cooked perfectly also crunchy and seasoned well.There was way more than I could eat though. My son couldn't eat all of his either.My one grandson ate everything and The youngest did not eat all of his kids meal either, We all really liked the food, and the pickle was delicious on top of the branded bun.It was a nice presentation with excellent food. Our server was attentive and friendly. Devin was also polite and good with following up on us. The prices were reasonable for the food. When we arrived, there was no indication of where the breakfast was (it is in the back of the restaurant through a set of French doors). There was no hostess. We passed an employee in the main part of the restaurant who simply pointed us in the direction we needed to go. We sat down and the waitress took our drink order. We proceeded to the buffet. When I got back to the table, Laura (who I later learned was the manager) was grabbing our items from the table. She rudely said that the table we were seated at was for a different party and that we should have waited to be seated. I explained the no hostess situation and she rolled her eyes and said we should have waited for someone. She threw our items at another table and said the new waitress would get our drink orders once we were all seated. I later learned she broke the screen on my phone. I went to let my family know of our new seat and apparently Laura felt it appropriate to attack my 14 and 16 year old and tell them that they should learn manners and should have waited for a hostess. As a restaurant manager myself, the behavior by this manager was appalling! We spent close to $2000 to stay at the hotel. At a minimum, she could learn to be polite and take responsibility for her employees having not done their job. What an absolute waste of money! Breakfast was $25/person and the food was bland and basic. They cram everyone in like sardines so you are bumping people and tables going to and from the buffet. If we ever go to Kalahari again, we'll venture down the street to a cafe where people treat people the way they should. read more

I went here on Friday with a large group of 10 of us. It wasn't very crowded and we had reservations, so we're seated immediately upon arrival. This restaurant is very pretty and the staff was very friendly and provided quick service. My friend and I shared the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese, along with a burger and fries. The Mac and cheese was good, but could use more chicken. The burger was excellent, and cooked well. We also go the Moscow mule which was also excellent! I snuck away with my kiddos for a few days and we ate a late lunch. I expected to pay a ridiculous amount but was pleasantly surprised with the total. I literally spent more at the snack bar on food. I ordered the southwest burger and it was cooked perfectly but I was surprised that it lacked flavor. I would order it again but would ask for extra sauce to add to it. Kid #1 got a regular burger and fries and he wasn't able to finish the fries which is crazy, they were very good. The actual food killed the whole experience. Nothing we ordered was hot. It was giving premade. The burger was dry, corn dogs was lukewarm, chicken wings still had some pink in them so they definitely was under cook but also they been sitting out for a while. The only thing that made the kids and us kinda enjoy ourselves was the look of the milkshakes, but they fail short with all the stuff that comes on the milkshakes they still were flavorless and taste like whip cream ONLY. I wish I would have gotten our services name she was AMAZING, she definitely needs a raise and her serving style needs to be duplicated. You'd think our food would have already been at the table as it was some how amazingly cooked an hour into our two hour wait to be seated. The food was cold long after we reached the hangry point. However the three times we were accidentally served onion rings we didn't order made it more funny than sad at a certain point. Like every other experience in the resort, this is spendy. However the food is of a higher quality which makes you feel that you're not being completely ripped off. I enjoyed my chicken Ranch wrap very much, lots of fresh ingredients and prepared very well. My son's hamburger looked good, and my daughter indicated her chicken wings had also been very good. A milkshake was shared for dessert, and it was certainly delicious. The room is fun with its various appointments, and the staff is very attentive and polite. I visited this restaurant on 08/18/2023. There's a sign and verbiage posted on the menu that states, 20% gratuity is added to bills for parties of 8 or more. Well, there were 7 ppl total in my party ( 4 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 toddler) and 20% gratuity was added. The dishonest waitress pulled a fast one and marked the computer that it was a party of 8. Reviewing the receipt, you can clearly see 7 meals/ 7 drinks... Acting in good faith is important. There are people willing to go above and beyond when leaving tips. We didn't cause any issues. The restaurant wasn't busy, we didn't ask for much. We just wanted to eat dinner. This left a bad impression. An investigation needs to happen because I'm sure I wasn't the first person this happened to. Some of the chips were overcooked but the ones that weren't were delicious. My wife and daughter got the fish and chips. Very large fillet the server said was Alaskan sole - a very mild white fish per her. Everything tased good - fish a little "fishy" so they only ate half. 90 minutes later we had to cut our time at the waterpark short because they both were nauseous. Essentially, this is amusement park food. I didn't expect much, and B-Lux met my expectations. The best thing that I can really say about B-Lux is that our waiter did a good job taking care of our party of 17 (including mostly kids) without too much delay or inaccuracy. Food: The food was not particularity original, and, it was not particularly well executed. I'm told the "Bang Bang Shrimp" were excellent, but the burgers were fair...only fair. Fries? Soggy. Mixed drinks: Terrible. Friggin' terrible. Watered down. Maybe it was just this/these particular bartender(s), but when ALL the drinks seem to be watered down, I start suspecting a systemic directive. Beer selection: Not bad, but nothing special. Price: No bang for your buck. Overpriced and average food is exactly what you should expect at a place like Kalahari (or Great Wolf, or Cedar Point, for that matter). Listen up pal...Sandusky has loads of great places to eat. If you're staying at Kalahari, I urge you to NOT be a lazy ass. Walk your pretty ass to your car, and then drive to one of Sandusky's other (excellent) eating establishments. AND, if the people in your party say some feeble-minded shit like "I don't feel like driving, let's just eat at the lodge," ignore their feelings, sack up, and tell them to get in and buckle up. read more

I think two stars is generous, but here goes. I am reluctant to write bad reviews because I realize the restaurant business is a tough business, and there are off nights. But my meal tonight here was so bad I can't let it go. First the positives: waitress was lovely and very helpful. The appetizers were fine. They consisted of the large pretzel and the fried cauliflower. French fries were ok. But it went downhill from there. My chicken sandwich was inedible. Seriously guys? You can't get deep fried chicken right? My wife's salmon entrée was a disgrace. They must've poured some bottled sauce over the salmon, but it was so bad she could only eat two bites. The rice was dry, and obviously had been sitting somewhere under some sort of heat lamp. We ordered a bloody Mary that was so weak that she couldn't finish it either. I don't understand places like this. If you can offer a bloody Mary, can she get some decent mix? This is a large waterpark and convention center with multiple restaurants. I would recommend that they pay some attention to this place because it's not good and the prices are not are expensive. Our bill came to over $150 for four people and trust me it wasn't worth it. We went to B-Lux with our 9 year old daughter for dinner after her taekwondo tournament on Saturday. The atmosphere is really nice, with big booths, lots of other seating , and nice lighting and decor . I got the Fresca margarita and my husband got the maple bacon bourbon old fashioned, we both really enjoyed our drinks. My husband got a burger and I got the Nashville chicken sandwich. Both were deliciousssssss and we would get it all again . The house made chips were also delicious and addicting! My daughter got the kids grilled cheese and enjoyed it too. The only thing I would suggest is that since there is already mac and cheese on the normal menu, it would be great to have that be the kind of mac and cheese on the kids menu. No parent wants to pay for subpar Kraft mac and cheese that be bought at the store for $1. With such wonderful food, it was just a shame that's the type of Mac they offered for kids. We also split the strawberry cheesecake shake which was huge and very good. Our server, I can't remember her name but it started with a T, was great. I do like how they offered a $10 arcade game card with 40 credits for only $6 with purchase of meals. My family of 3, each got 1 for the arcade and that was a good value. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I came to Kalahari for a robotics tournament 6 months ago or so and we had the most awful experience with the hostess. We were 9 people (adults and 17 year old boys) and she sat us in a booth. It was very cramped. I was practically sitting on my friends lap. We kindly asked for another table and the hostess insisted that table was big enough for us even though clearly we were very tight and uncomfortable. She would not budge! Finally we talked to a manager and he got us another table for the kids. Fast forward to now, we figured that was an isolated event and we are here again for a robotics event. We wanted to eat dinner here as a party of 16. We called early in the day and asked to reserve a table and they told us they don't do reservations but that we could come a little earlier to get our names on the waitlist. So we did that. When we get there, they told us they won't be able to accommodate us because they have a reservation for a party of 17! We told them we were told they don't take reservations and it was a first come first serve basis. Apparently for large parties they do. But what really made things maddening is that the two hosts were basically laughing and told us they didn't have any solution for us and just kept laughing. I have never ever had such terrible experiences like this before. With the host staff! Well needless to say, we decided not to eat there since first they didn't seem to want our business and also because of how incredibly rude and unprofessional they were. We ended up going to the Italian restaurant across the lobby from them where we ended up spending over $500 and gladly gave our business to them and their wonderful staff.
