We were in a dire situation with an unfortunate loss for the family and then lost keys on top of that. I called at least 6 locksmiths. Some did not answer at all (and never returned messages even though it was around 1:30pm on Friday). I called B OK and Janelle answered immediately, was professional and kind and had no problem giving a solid quote over the phone which just happened to be at least $100 less than the other companies called. We set an appointment for between 3 and 4pm. Joe called 15 minutes before arriving, called when he arrived and all on time and as promised. I needed a copy of a car key for a Toyota Rav4. I looked into getting just a metal copy (no chip) and a few places either wouldn't do it or wanted to charge $60 + for a key that doesn't even start the engine! I contacted this company about having three locks rekeyed through yelp. To my surprise I had a response for Janel within ten minutes, which I found surprising. She gave me the rates which was an extremely fair quote. She informed me they could be there the same day. I however was not at the property and made an appointment for the following day and was advised they would contact me 15 minutes prior to arrival. That day I was contacted by Frankie and he said he would be a few minutes late, which was only 10 minutes. When he arrived, he looked at the locks and said it would take about 15 minutes....I was shocked at how quickly it was finished. I contracted with B OK locksmith dealing directly with the owner to create a key for a lock. I was quoted a price with the owner fully understanding what the circumstances were to create a new key. Also I asked for several other services. I arrived to check on progress and on the counter was my battery with the new key in it. I was not called to tell me that it was ready for pick up. I Inquired on what the price would be for the other services and my new key. The price to create a new key was now double what he quoted me. The owners employee and wife were very rude to me when I voice my displeasure of being charge double what they told me the price would be. I offered to pay for it anyway and they ended up taking the new key away from my lock and telling me to leave. This was the second time I have dealt with this store and come away disappoint it. The handle and locking mechanism to the door to the backyard was falling apart. I called a local lock company who is highly recommended. They sent out a repair person, looked at the door and said, "We don't work on that brand of door." I didn't know the brand to begin with. To their credit, I was not charged for the visit but I still had the problem. After reading the Yelp reviews, I called B-OK. Joe arrived on time, assessed the condition of the door lock and provided an estimate of the cost to replace the mechanism that was very expensive. That could have been the end of the story but instead, he offered an alternative solution that did not involve replacing the entire mechanism. His honesty and professionalism was greatly appreciated.
