The driver (Paul, I think) who picked me up from Berli's was great - on time, really nice and friendly - and was the best part of the entire experience. I called the Friday before to reserve the car I wanted (full-size, Altima or Camry) and I was told it wouldn't be a problem, they would have plenty of cars at 9:30am on Tuesday. I made her PROMISE she would have the car on the lot. When I arrived to pick up my car, they ONLY HAD 2 CARS - a Corolla and an SUV. Long story short, I started asking a shitload of questions and made the guy go back and forth showing me both cars, letting me sit inside of them, asked him to tell me about their gas mileage (which he wasn't very knowledgable), etc. until LUCKILY an Altima pulled in (destined for the Ford dealership). I asked if I could have it and they let me. NOTE: the Altima is not great and smells like someone has smoked in it, even though there is a strict no smoking policy. If I had my choice, I would have rented from Enterprise.

I needed to add another driver onto my rental agreement so popped into this Avis location to get this done. The reviews were not mistaken, as the lady that helped us provided great customer service. Unfortunately she was not able to add the second driver for just two out of the six days that I requested, and I had to pay an additional $65 to have an additional driver for the duration of the rental (other places will do this free of charge), but this is more of a corporate thing and not due to lack of service by the rep. We were in and out within 5 minutes - she made everything very easy and convenient.

I just had the worst customer service experience I've ever had with Budget/Avis…read more I reserved a gas vehicle for 12:00 PM on August 6th. When I arrived at the Budget location, there was a sign directing all customers to Avis. I went over there only to find a line about 27 people deep and waited 40 minutes just to reach the counter. When it was finally my turn, the employee looked up my reservation and told me there were no gas vehicles available--only EVs. I explained that I was driving to a remote area where charging infrastructure isn't reliable, so an EV wasn't an option. He then told me I'd have to go on a 2-hour waitlist for a gas vehicle, and even then there was no guarantee I'd get one. I reminded him that I had a reservation for a gas car at noon. His response? "The reservation is for the time, not the car." That completely defeats the purpose of making a reservation. I explained that I had an event to get to and was understandably frustrated. A supervisor came over, and after I explained everything, his response was, "What do you want me to do about it, cry or be sad for you?" I've never been spoken to like that by someone in customer service. It was incredibly unprofessional and showed a complete lack of respect for customers. They offered no solution other than waiting two hours for a vehicle that wasn't even guaranteed to be available. I told them to cancel my reservation. The employee said he did, but I had a feeling he hadn't. I called Budget customer service afterward, and sure enough, the reservation was still active--they had to cancel it over the phone. Thankfully, I opened Turo, found a vehicle immediately, and was on the road within minutes. Reservations should mean something. Stop overbooking vehicles and start treating customers with respect. This experience was unacceptable. Turo for the win.

I alternate between this location and the one a little further down Burnet because they both have great staff and they've gotten to know me and my needs as a disaster worker. Every time i've been to this location Ive gotten a free upgrade to an SUV at the economy rate because he knows that Im often driving in the the country and don't want to get stuck in deep water on dirt driveway. The gentleman that works at this location has on several occasions ordered vehicles from the airport for me, when i've had enough time to wait for a better car. That's awesome service and why i keep coming back!

This is one of the offices which helped me out when I had an issue with one of my rental cars, which was not rented from this office (rented in Houston), but they were nice about it. I was later billed way too much, in fact it should have been free, but I'm not sure if that's the fault of this office or the company. They've been shady like that for a long time and it gets really old. I kind of tend to blame both. For the experience I had when I came in here it was okay. For trying to reach them afterwards it was awful. And for the overcharging that left a negative taste in my mouth. Overall I'll give them a three but it could easily have been a two and some people would have given them a one considering.
