I've been a member here since October of last year. I really wanted to get back into shape after…read moresurgery, and I stopped in to book personal training. I was referred to Andy Ferguson, and he has been laser focused on getting me to my goals. He's knowledgeable and precise in his approach, and has a wholistic perspective that has been very effective. Trophy is also a very good gym, this location is just the right size, is clean, and has good equipment. The staff are friendly and professional - Greyson, john, Gina, and the entire staff is friendly and warm. When I need help they are responsive. I've been to many gyms/trainers, from Los Angeles Equinox, to San Antonio Golds Gym, and Houston 24 hour fitness, but Trophy has really honed in on what makes a gym great and has fair pricing. Plus, parking is convenient and free.

From day 1 every single person on staff was welcoming and personable. One thing that was abnormal about this gym was the community within the gym. I moved to Dallas knowing no one and found this to be a very social gym. Majority of my friends came from meeting other members and trainers. The classes are motivating, the free recovery sessions are a game changer, the trainers are SUPER knowledgeable, and the amenities of a hot tub, sauna, and steam room are the cherry on top. If you are looking for a gym, look no further. Joining Trophy way the best decision I made next to moving to Dallas.

Highly recommend…read more Quick look rating: 5/5 Quality, 5/5 Experience I found out about Jay's Boot Camp from a friend at work. I had asked her how she got in shape before her wedding. She told me her and her fiancé would go to this bootcamp at 5:30 am, MWF down at the AAC parking lot. Looked up the bootcamp on line and registered for the next up and coming bootcamp. The bootcamps are one hour long, three times a week for four weeks! They have a number of different locations and times. The grapevine location used to meet at T/Th 5:30am or 6pm and Saturday at 8am for your third time that week. So it varies on the times and locations. In my opinion, go early in the morning when it's cool and you can get the camp behind you for the day! They also have a one week camp, it is in-between the month long camps. Those will help you prep for the upcoming camp. It's well worth it, to do the short "Blast" camp. As long as you're doing this bootcamp, change over your diet. You will thank me later! You also want to hydrate with lots of water! All you need for this camp is a yoga mat, a bottle of water, two sets of small weights and a great attitude! You do want to show up early to stretch and get ready! You do not want to be late! Jay and his trainers will run you into the ground! I used to run full marathons and thought I was in shape! Heck, the first time I went out there, I got my tail handed to me on a silver plater! We did so many different drills that nearly killed me! I first attended the group at the AAC, it was roughly 200 females and 6 guys and all different ages, weights and athletic ability. There was very little time for rest or recovery. If you do miss a session, you can go to another location or time. They start out the first week by giving you a military test and then again at the end of the four weeks. The military test is pretty simple, how many pushups can you do in two minutes and then sit-ups. It is based off of your age and your sex. The third part of the test is how fast can you run two miles, and there again it's based off of your age and sex. One of the best things is that is not boring and they change it up all the time. They even change up the trainers. Also the different groups will have different personalities, example is the grapevine location five years ago were really in shape, they had been going for years! After going to these camps for a while, I got to know a number of these trainers. Jay & Lin run these camps and are great folks! Now they are going to push you, but they want you to also listen to your body! If there are certain drill that you can't do, just modify what you're doing, but they want you to push yourself! The whole group is full of some great motivation! Give JaysBootCamp.com a try! Highly recommend!

I got an e-mail about it and thought, "What else am I going to be doing at 5:30 am? I could use something other than running or the gym. Plus, it's on the field at the Cotton Bowl, so that will be fun." I also rationalized it by thinking, "Oh, it's a freeby promo just to get people interested in his training. It won't be too hard or he'll scare people away." I could not have been more mistaken. For background, I have never trained with Jay's group before, but I have finished three Ironman triathlons. I am currently training with the Dallas Running Club for an upcoming marathon, so I went into Jay's session with a high-level of cardio conditioning. (I'm not a couch potato.) But this little 1 hour boot camp made me want to puke. I found myself sand-bagging half of the exercises, trying to blend in so no one notices I suck, constantly checking my watch, and hiding behind girls. After this session, however, I thought, 1) I need to do more pushups. I suck for a dude. And 2) I'd rather go run hard for two hours than do anything else with Jay (that's a compliment). In fact, when we finally broke up the old school calisthenics and started running, I was thinking, "Thank God, finally something I can do. Can we please just run some more?" The session was attended by mostly 20-somethings, but there were 'older' members and attendeeds of all fitness levels. He had about a half-dozen instructors who, as would be expected at a BOOT CAMP session, frequently barked orders about simple but effective exercises (but they were never negative or intimidating). I'd really like to read reviews of something who forked over the money and went through an entire program. Overall, if one morning's workout makes me want to cry for my mommy and call in sick for work, I can only imagine how good one of his month-long classes are.

I signed up for personal training at what I understood was a flat rate. After learning about additional charges that were never explained to me when I signed up (80 dollar initial scan fee, 50 dollars a month for inbody scan, 3% processing charge, 80 dollar gym membership) I was very alarmed. I thought I was signing up for a flat rate of 640, but with the additional charges it ended up being 800 dollars a month - none of this was outlined in the contract I signed. When I asked him to send me the contract so I could verify the fees are not in the contract, he refused and said it was all explained verbally to me (which is 100% a lie and if it were true, it's unethical to charge customers based on 'verbal' agreements). He ended up not charging me for two months of the gym - which if it would have ended there I would have been completely fine and not feel the need to write this. I decided to complete my 3 month contract and after that I would not be able to financially support 800 a month and would no longer be signing up for additional months. When I informed Taylor I would be cancelling I received an e-mail with a notice of my cancellation and in the notes "Has been a pain in the a** since day 1" when I confronted him about this he said "oh it's just a jovial joke, you know", didn't apologize! and went on to belittle me saying I am the problem and he never has issues like this. I have never felt so disrespected and talked down to in my entire life. All I was trying to do was understand additional charges that were not in my contract nor communicated to me and instead of realizing there is a gap in his business model he shifts the blame to me "I've never had this problem with anyone but you". Just so disrespectful, I am extremely appalled. I would never ever recommend anyone doing business with Taylor. This is not how you treat someone paying you 800 dollars a month. And to anyone from the gym who is going to respond to this.... it isn't about the money, it's about being ethical with your contracts and how you treated me. Five stars for the gym, equipment, and my amazing trainer. Zero stars for the way they treat their customers.

barre3 -- Dallas, TX…read more barre3 was the first barre class I ever tried, and it completely changed how I view fitness. I originally found it through ClassPass, and now I find myself rebooking over and over again -- it's truly become one of the biggest reasons I fell back in love with working out. What I love most is how fun and uplifting every class feels. It's this perfect mix of cardio, strength training, and balance work, but somehow it feels more like a dance party than a workout. The music, the energy, and the lighting all create a space that pushes you while still being gentle and encouraging. The instructors are so friendly and supportive, and even the owner teaches classes, which really says a lot about the culture here. You can tell they genuinely care about their community -- they remember your name, cheer you on, and make you feel comfortable no matter your fitness level. Every time I leave, I feel stronger, more confident, and more connected -- both to myself and to the people around me. It's rare to find a studio that combines great workouts, amazing instructors, and a true sense of belonging, but barre3 does exactly that. It's no surprise they're opening more locations -- once you try one class, you'll understand why!

My two favorite alternative instructors are the best. Incredible people. I do have one gripe that stopped me short of rating. On two occasions I registered for one of the "challenges." The challenge itself was no problem at all and I enjoyed it. However, receiving the prize which was a T-Shirt became a bit of a hassle for one and a big let down for the most recent challenge "Goal Getter Challenge" back in January. Upon successfully completing the challenge, I followed the remaining step to confirm which was featured in an email and in the CG app. I've confirmed the completion on Jan 17, well ahead of the deadline of Mar 19 along with confirming it multiple times weekly after Jan 17th. I periodically checked my email to for a delivery notification along with checking my mailbox. Til this day, I did not receive any notification nor the T-Shirt that was promised upon completing the challenge. I spoke with a representative on July 14 about the issue. I was told that they didn't have any in stock whereas the deadline passed. I asked about a refund or store credit and the representative told me the challenge was non-refundable nor there was any chance of getting store credit. I told the representative I didn't receive any notification about any delays of the T-Shirt being delivered and explained to her why I am being subjected to being penalized on the account of an issue that occurred on CGs end. She countered by saying an email was sent out to campers to confirm the delay. Based on the details she provided, it was sent out in on of the weekly email updates months ago. At this point, I knew I wasn't going to get compensated. She did offer a coupon but I refused it. However, I did check every weekly email I received and not one of those emails contained any information about the delay of the "Goal Getter" Challenge" T-Shirt. I do not delete any of my emails (yahoo) so I know none were deleted. In other words, she told a lie. One of Camp Gladiator core values include "Integrity." Although I was disappointed about the situation, I'm extra disappointed that I was lied to about the email notification that was allegedly sent out to all campers. If I am wrong, I will recant that part of my statement. Other than that one discrepancy, Camp Gladiator is pretty cool.
