    The sweets

This is a pretty popular place. I dropped by here on Saturday late afternoon to buy some samosas. The 4 tables were taken, having a late lunch or early dinner at about 4pm. There was a 10 minutes wait for the samosas and during that period, more people came in to order take out. People also came here to order huge quantity of food for their parties. From what I overheard, you could just call them 2-3 days in advance to place the order. I ordered 2 beef samosas, 2 chicken samosas, 2 veggie samosas and gulab jamun. The price of the veggie samosa has increased to $0.99 each. That is quite pricey now? The samosas were freshly fried and came with the tangy-sweet dip. They remained crispy and warm even after an hour despite the cold weather. Of them, I like the veggie samosa best (mostly potato in it), followed by the beef. Both were minced but the beef had a stronger flavor than the chicken. The gulab jamun was delicious. It did not come with syrup but it was not needed. It was sweet enough. If you ever need a jolt of sugar, eat this. It will wake you up. Besides plain, it also came sprinkled with desiccated coconut. I will like to go back again to try the thali meal and other dishes.

    Seriously?!

Check your bill total!!! They lady charged me 9.50 for 6 veg samosas (0.99 each). Because she didn't actually tell me how much I was paying and just turned the interact machine on the counter to me I just tapped and left. I realized within four minutes that she overcharged me and called back. I was transferred to three different Indian ladies all of whom didn't know who did it. Finally the last lady asked me to come back with the receipt (because she's on her lunch break and can't help me right now) and she would look into it. Wtf?! Well seeing as how they didn't give me an actual receipt just a visa receipt I can't prove anything and I'm not driving through traffic for her to "look into it". I have a feeling they probably do this often. I'm actually pretty pissed off that I tipped her on top of it!!! They should call themselves Baba Shady The icing on the cake was that for six samosas I was giving one small container of chutney. Cheap and a rip off!

I was threading my eyebrows next door for $5 (Money's) and so I decided to check this place out. Samosas are $0.8 for veggie/$1.99 for chicken or beef for take out. I ordered 2 beef and 2 chicken samosas to try. I ordered at 11:41am. The order is ready at 11:54am. The samosas do not come with sauce, FYI. They do accept Visa and MC though. The inside is quite small, but there are 3 quad tables for dine-in patrons. We see a rotation of younger groups of East Indians coming in for take out - signs of approval (as I am not East Indian). They do have another location in Surrey, which I haven't tried. The taste, size, price: $2/samosa is pretty high...but then it has meat filling. There is very minimal spice and flavour. It is about the same size as other samosas I have had. Overall: Not coming back for samosas.

3.5. We ordered biryani, butter chicken, and garlic naan to go. Even though we had to wait a bit, the food was still hot and tasted really fresh. Prices are very good, especially compared to some of the other choices in the area. We would repeat and recommend.

Chana Bhature and veggie samosas $6.40!!!! So filling

We ordered the Paneer Lababdar with garlic naans, and the combination was absolutely delicious. The rich, flavorful curry paired perfectly with the soft, freshly made garlic naans--it was the kind of meal that had us reaching for every last bite. Another detail worth mentioning is that the restrooms were clean and well maintained, which always reflects positively on the restaurant. If you're looking for flavorful Indian food, generous portions, and good service, Bombay Bistro is definitely worth a visit. We'd happily come back to try more dishes from the menu.

We were a big group of 12 including infant and toddler and they managed everything beautifully. Another big group of 10+ came in when we were leaving around 9+ pm. The place was not huge but they can do big groups. Reservations recommended. This was my second time trying East African/Indian food. I still didn't know much about it. R and I shared a choma (grilled) platter which had 3 types of meat, choice of carbs and raw vegs. The server recommended Chicken Serena which was grilled chicken with some sauce and herbs. This was my favorite dish. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The other two meats were the beef ribs (pretty good) and Mishkaki (skewer beef - a bit dry and hard). I love the masala potatoes which was the best thing on the platter. The raw vegs looked like coleslaw without any sauce. It was just a dab of sauce on the side. Not enough for the shredded vegs. I also had the masala chai which was very weak and very bland. Skip this tea. R tried the on tap beer - Baadshah Pilsner - a south Asian craft beer produced by Magic Malt Brewing in Langley. Interesting. Good to try for $5. There was also live music. It can get quite loud when they were singing. Nice patio out front and parking on street and in their lot.

B got the Kheema Mani which was East African stuffed flatbread with ground beef. I had a bit of it and it was very delicious. I got the beef ribs with masala potatoes. It also came with a side of salad. The beef ribs was flavorful. Portion size was pretty good. B also got a side of garlic naan. That was delicious. The naan was made fresh inhouse. Overall the food was good. I highly recommend coming here if you have not been.

Downloaded it, filled in my info to sign up. It didn't work. Tried again - same results. Ordered via Uber Eats. (2)My go-to is Chicken Tikka - no onions. I clicked on the Allergy tab for onions, however when it arrived my Chicken Tikka was COVERED with them!! it said 3 times on the receipt NO Onions /Allergy. This was completely ignored ! Despite scraping them all off and smothering a piece in Raita, my tongue is still tingling and swollen. (3)The Naan Bread was so dry, thin and over cooked it was the consistency of a burnt cracker. I tried soaking it in some water between paper towels and microwaving it, but it was so thin in many places it snapped. I'm used to Naan being thick and soft with some blackened edges. I like to put my chicken inside with Raita and eat it like a pita wrap. Not with this stuff ! (4)Nowhere on the website or Uber app does it say that the Butter Chicken comes with rice. So I order a side of rice for my husband. 3 containers of rice show up. Had I known it was already included (most places will tell you ) I would have saved the 6$. He didn't need 3 containers. (6)The free dish included when you spend 40$ was Papri Chaat . It was something I never heard of, but sounded good. I'm Sure it would have been if the wafers (Papri) wasn't It was completely soggy. (7) I also told them no Chutney as it would go to waste. They sent 3 containers .... The Good- It was quick from order to delivery. The Raita was delicious. Butter Chicken was enjoyed by my Husband. The flavour of the Chicken Tikka once all the onions were scraped off. Had they substituted cabbage for the onions it would've been really good. Thankfully Uber refunded me the 20$ for the Chicken. This wasn't a dislike - it was a safety issue For nearly 70$ this is unacceptable. *See photos

Here's what we ordered and loved: Chilli Chicken - Deep-fried boneless chicken cooked with ginger and green peppers. It's like Chinese sweet and sour chicken but with a delicious spicy kick! Chana Puri - Two HUGE deep-fried wheat breads served with chickpeas, pickle, and salad. The chickpeas were so flavourful, and the puri was light and crispy. This is a must-order! Chicken Tikka Masala - Grilled chicken in a creamy, tomato-based sauce. Perfectly balanced and so comforting. Lamb Korma - Boneless lamb cooked in a rich white cashew nut sauce. The lamb was tender and full of flavour -- we loved the spice balance! Garlic Naan - Soft, perfectly cooked (not burnt!), and great texture. A must-have pairing with any curry. Every dish was so tasty that it was hard to pick a single winner of the night -- but if we had to choose, the Chana Puri and Lamb Korma were our top picks! The menu offers a great mix of classic favourites and unique regional dishes. Everything tasted authentic, fresh, and made with care. Tasty Planet is a small, casual restaurant located in a plaza at 6th Street & 10th Avenue (Highway 1A) -- right on the Burnaby/New Westminster boundary.
