One of the best lunches on West Broadway. Chicken or Lamb lunch specials are not just excellent but reasonably priced and very filling. They even include a small dessert. Every dish has complex, and in my view, authentic flavours. This review is for Chef's Flavour, which is a rebrand of the previous Tandoori Fusion. According to the staff, 1 owner/partner cashed out, so the 2nd one now runs the place. My understanding is that everything else (such as the recipes) are unchanged. The place looks pretty modern and is brightly lit. Looks like they have a decent bar selection too. Staff are friendly and chatty. As of the time of writing, there is a dinner special. I had a lamb curry combo. Comes with (plain or garlic) naan, some salad, a bowl of rice, and a tandoori chicken drumstick. Pretty tasty stuff. Portion size was a wee bit small though, as the combo bowls are physically smaller than the non combo bowls. Garlic naan is nice and buttery. Special mention. Paneer lababdar - nice big chunks of paneer. Really good sauce. Food was definitely tasty. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point. Recommended. read more

The restaurant was empty the entire time we were there. Normally that could be a great clue but the dishes were acceptable with some a bit too sweet and others a tad too Canadianized. The fish pakora, sauce and naan were very good, as was the mango pudding. We're planning to try it again and maybe update this review then. read more

Wanted to really like this place but it lacked spice and I mean any spice. The full chicken (tandoori) was all dark meat and definitely not cooked in a tandoori oven. I went there with a few friends to celebrate a birthday this evening. We ordered lamb pasanda, chicken curry, vegetarian (aloo gobi) and tandoori halibut. The food was excellent, and everyone felt the standard was as high as anywhere in the city or even overseas in some of our favorite places to eat curry. The service is very friendly, not pushy. Definitely on the rotation as one of the best Indian restaurants in Vancouver. Has a Neighbourhood feel to it. read more

It has been 6 years that I keep coming to this restaurant. And, it is still my "the" favourite restaurant. Recently, there was a change in the interior, and for that now it has a newer look. Apparently, their name has been also changed to "Chef's Flavour", from "Tandoori Fusion". If you are ordering online, you may have already noticed this name change. When it comes to their menu, there has been some changes there too. For Lunch specials, now you have more than 2 choices; instead of Butter Chicken or Lamb Curry option, you get to pick a meat dish out of 10 choices. Same for the dinner specials that now whether you are by yourself or you have a company, there are dinner special options to cater both. And, they are new and very delicious. Management is the same, so is the flavour of the food. The taste is always unwavering and portions are still generous. Since Covid-19 started 5 years ago, their price change has been very minimal, and still resisting this never-ending inflationary current climate is something to appreciate as a customer. We ordered four different dishes to go, namely, Lamb Pasanda, Butter Chicken, Lamb Biryani and Matter Paneer. The Lamb Pasanda was not cooked enough and very tough to chew. Our guest stop eating it after the first bite. The Butter Chicken was very sweet as too much suger was used. Our guest also stopped eating that one too. The Lamb Biryni had no spices or flavour; just pieces of very tough lamb and rice with some corriander leaves. The Paneer was just ok, not great but just ok. I talked to manager about the bad experience. They apologized and offered two free dishes on our next order. Sorry there will not be a next time for us. We will not be recommending this resturant for anyone. Stayaway. and one stars. read more

I love Indian food so much as it's usually the best for vegetarians and this is no exception. I usually get dal makini, palak paneer and/or samosas. At lunch they have an awesome thali set as well. The servings are huge! It's a small resto, and has a tiny patio. , The servers are always polite. It's a great Indian option in kits! read more

Visiting Vancouver and was undecided on were to eat. Group picked T.F. and what a excellent pick. The lunch special was excellent. I was full. The ice cream was home made, and included. Got takeout. Small dark restaurant with limited seating. Naan and rice comes with meals. Very large portions and flavorful spices. But everything I ordered was very salty. Naan- excellent. Kashmiri pulao (rice) - delicious! Eggplant bartha- good but salty. Dal- good but salty. Chicken hyberdali- tender moist chicken. Salty. Lamb methi- SO salty and oily that we could not eat it. It's not often that I give 5 stars to Indian cuisine since I'm generally not a fan of the bold flavors, but I was pretty darn impressed by the food I had at Tandoori Fusion. My friend and I arrived around 7 pm on a Friday and there were only a handful of tables empty. Granted, it's a small and cozy place where you'll be sitting pretty close to your neighbors, but I never saw anyone wait for more than a couple minutes. Soon after we got seated, we were given soup on the house. I've never had Indian soup before, but didn't like it after trying a sip. It was very sour and a little bit spicy. We ordered tandoori chicken (8 pieces for $16) and paneer tikka masala ($14). I don't eat it often, but the tandoor chicken was some of the best chicken I've had recently, period. It was SO tender and juicy and flavorful. Luckily it wasn't very spicy so I could actually eat it. Both my friend and I were very impressed with how much paneer and veggies were in the curry. Typically restaurants don't include too much paneer in the paneer curries, but according to my friend (who has been here multiple times), Tandoori Fusion very consistently provides generous amounts of paneer and veggies in their curry. Plus the curry itself tasted great too, with just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. Parking in the area is all metered. I ended up in this end of town for n appointment, and as hungry guides me to make a quick decision, we popped in here as the lunch special looked good. When we arrived it was quiet and almost empty,but by the tune we left it was full. The reason, the food was great. Really good. As you can see from my photo the tray has numerous items. For me, basmati rice, daal, vegetable curry a samosa, a dessert,a small salad and fresh naan. Great value. For my hubby the same but with butter chicken instead of vegetable curry. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was good and efficient. Not over the top friendly, but efficient. We definitely would go back. Great value and food. read more

There are a few different Indian restaurants in this area, and I'm pretty sure this is my favorite! Their prices are slightly higher than the others, but the dishes also come with naan or rice, so after accounting for that, I think it works out to be a similar price. What I really like about Tandoori Fusion though is that their portion sizes are very large. Whenever we get takeout, I have an Indian Thanksgiving (i.e. I basically overeat waaaaay too much), and we still have leftovers! The only thing they could improve is the spice level - we always order "hot", but it's not very spicy. Maybe next time I'll try asking for "extra hot". read more

I went here as part of a group dinner one weeknight evening. The seating was awkward because we had such a large group. They had to split the 14 of us among two separate aisle tables. Service wasn't that great either, as they seemed quite impatient to serve our whole group. The menu was pretty fun to read and was a good conversation starter since it gave an explanation about the "Tandoori" term and the various different types of curries and spiciness levels. I ordered the Prawn Masala for $16 which tasted like a pretty basic curry dish with tomatoes, onions, and fish. The reason I call it basic is because I didn't really taste that many spices or flavors besides the tomatoes and onions. I think in general, their curries didn't have too much flavor since I also tried the Chicken Curry, and had similar complaints. I also think they messed up my order since I ordered the 3/3 spiciness level, and other people's dishes with a 2/3 spiciness level were hotter then mine. The naan was also too oily for my tastes. However, another friend ordered the Lamb Seekh Kebab for $14 which tasted much better. The takeaway from this trip would be that if I ever went back, I would order off their "Tandoori Fusion" section of the menu instead. These dishes seemed more inspired compared to the basic curries spread across the rest of the menu. read more

After having had take out from here several times (see previous review) I have now made it in for their lunch specials a few times and I am equally impressed. The restaurant is small with only about 12 tables, it is casually but nicely decorated. Lots of regulars seem to frequent here. The service has been good, although I do think the waitress we've had should provide more information to customers about the lunch specials - it hasn't been mentioned once, I've had to ask about it. They do have a sandwich board outside with that info so maybe she feels that is adequate, but as a new customer to the restaurant you may not see it/be looking for it. The lunch special is a great deal at approx $11 for vegetarian and $12 for meat. I've tried the butter chicken, chicken curry and most recently the goat curry which far exceeded my expectations. The meat lunch special comes with salad, 1 pc tandoori chicken, vegetarian dish/lentils, rice, naan and a small dessert. A great value and very delicious combination. They are also licensed so I was able to enjoy a glass of wine with my lunch. My go to Indian place in Vancouver for take out or dining out; keep up the good work! read more

For pure quality of delicious, traditional, straightforward Indian food, it would be very difficult to find a better place in a thousand mile radius. I suppose the people who make the food are very nice. We ate lunch inside the restaurant once too. The ambiance wasn't bad. But I am far less capable of extolling these virrtues. My primary body of experience with this place is a large warm bag filled with takeout packaging, all stuffed with mindbending deliciousness that usually lasts two or three days, because we can't constrain ourselves when we order. read more

Wouldn't return. Dishes were uniformly under spiced and uninteresting. The "full" tandoori chicken oddly included several legs and two thighs... a dark meat Franken-Chx. A biryani showed up 15 minutes after the dishes it was supposed to accompany; a raita never materialized. Service was perplexingly bad in a half-empty restaurant, as empty glasses and bowls piled up and were never cleared. A "super, super spicy, please" dal had hardly any zip. Chutneys were clearly pre-fab. Channa that came with papri chaat was obviously canned and soggy. A spinach cheese naan was doughy and raw in parts. Such decadent Indian dishes and lovely service! Your meal starts off with a complimentary soup. For us, it was a thick and delicious yellow lentil soup. For main courses, I would highly recommend the CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA. It is scrumptious and has a thick consistency that provides a great mouth feel, and is perfect for dipping your naan! The beautiful flavour and texture are a product of the tomato base and the spices rather than from cream or fat. The BEEF CURRY is delicious, as well, spicier and less sweet than the tikka masala. I would suggest trying the chicken, lamb or seafood version because the beef was just a tad dry. Nonetheless, served with the delicious curry sauce, the dish was still tasty. A new Indian in Kits. I am excited and have to try it. Indian food in Vancouver tends to be pretty weak, so I am hoping... Thought I would pick up some take out and eat it at home on the deck. As it was for two, I ordered a starter of veg pakora followed by the classic chicken tikka masala. Actually the most popular dish of any kind in the UK. More than fish and chips. True! Also thought I would try Palaak Paneer. Each dish came with a choice of rice or naan, which is a nice deal. Arrived to collect and the food was ready on time, as promised. Place was reasonably busy and smelled great, so that's a good sign. The servers were exceptionally friendly, full of smiles. Nice decor inside too. I'm figuring this must be okay if it's this popular. So off we went back home to try it. The pakoras came with a little salad and two dips. They were very nice. Lots of flavour and a nice amount of spice. The dips were great. Good portion too. My favourite starter is a good onion bhaji, so I was surprised not to find it available here. Hopefully they might address that, but these were good anyway. On to the mains. The flavours in both dishes were really good. Lots of evidence of spices and sliced onion in the tikka masala. The palaak paneer (spinach and Indian cheese) was very tasty. Perhaps the spinach was a little too pulpy, but it was rich and had lots of flavour. I would have liked to have had a bit more of a sense of the fresh spinach the dish promises. The only issue I had with the tikka masala was the apparent oiliness of it. You could see a layer of oil floating on the top. This is not uncommon in Indian, but it really can be cooked with less oil, or ghee, and I would urge them to cut back. Taste was great, but that's my only concern. Naan bread was excellent and large. Rice portion was also huge. Easily enough for two. In fact, my wife and I ate about half of the main courses, so this will be an excellent left over. Portions are not an issue here, folks. I really enjoyed it and hope that they read this and will consider cutting back on the ghee and maybe even adding onion bhaji to the menu. I will be back! read more

I have a hard time finding good Indian food in Vancouver. I am a major critic, when it comes to Indian food. My first experience here, dining in, exceeded my expectations. So I am giving it a full five stars. Came here for a late lunch after a morning of pampering. For 4 girls we ordered quite a bit. Got the butter chicken, lamb curry, a vegetable curry, spinich and cheese Naan, garlic Naan, 2 orders of rice and a veggie pakora. Spinich and cheese Naan was great with the yogurt that comes with it. The lamb curry was good, until I had the butter chicken curry. Hands down for me, the butter chicken was the best of the three. For the carbs, I'm not big on rice, I generally like to have my curry with Naan instead. But today I think I had an even proportion of both. Not that many tables, probably 8 - but can be adjusted. Decor was simple, and good ventilation. You can order take out too! The wait wasn't that long for our food, but then again there was only one other table that was occupied when we went at 2pm! This is my go to place when I crave Indian food. The best dish I have had is the lamb biryani. Delicious and a complete meal which means you can add a chai or dessert and still pay less than 20. What I like about it is that the portions of the curries are so big there is always some to take away for lunch the next day. I recommend the Butter chicken and Matar Paneer and Dal for Vegetarians. The lunch buffet is something to try too. I won't say the food is excellent but good, affordable and convenient for sure. The service is okay and hit and miss. They once gave me the wrong red wine and when I inquired about it I was just told it was wrong, no apology or attempts at redressing it! Still food wins. Bonus: They always have complimentary starters when you go for dinner. read more

So this review might be a little biased. See, I grew up in a Pakistani household (yes, in Pakistan) so when I search for or try out a new South Asian place, I'm not looking for what might be the "best" South Asian. I'm just looking for what comes closest to making me feel like I'm back in Pakistan, eating my mommy's delicious Pakistani food. And Tandoori Fusion absolutely does it. So, not surprisingly, it's my favourite Indian restaraunt in all of Vancouver. Should you go eat here if you're South Asian and looking for a taste of home? After a couple of recommendations we recently ordered from Tandoori Fusion for the very first time and we very impressed. Food was amazingly tasty, really plentiful portions (we got 4 good sized meals from an order for just two of us) - excellent value for the price! Highly recommend. Restaurant looks nice too but we'll wait for the post-Covid era to try it I guess. Will definitely order takeout again though.......soon! read more

So far this the very best food I've had in the Vancouver area. Have come to this city over the last few years I've yet to encounter a meal as great as the food served here. Exceptional is the only way to describe it. My wife calls it the best meal of her life. With good reason....the food is full of flavor and life. The Tandoori combo girl plate is a feats of meats packed with flavor. The chicks curry, butter chicken is some of the best I've ever had anywhere. I have yet to leave here disappointed. Just had lunch here and oh my goodness, their lunch deal is AWESOME. I got a chicken curry and pakora curry, along with a small samosa and yogurt, which all came with lots of naan breads. $10.99 for this whole thing was unbelievably amazing! The chicken curry had so many deep flavors, I decided to eat less of it to take it home for later. I was even given a small mango ice cream for dessert, which had little pistachio nuts on top. The decor is nice, but what blew me away was the constant smiles from my server. She really completed my experience at this place! Lovely service, lovely food...
