Not the largest samosa I've had but definitely one of the prettiest.. Look at that colour!
Monika C.

I've only ever had the samosa here but they've been consistently good. Each samosa will put you back by 80¢ and they are on the smaller side. The filling mainly consists of potatoes and they don't go overboard with the spices but it is quite fragrant and tasty. They're also good cold and reheated as well! After you pay, the person helping you will walk over to the end of a long counter filled with snacks and desserts and grab your order from under a food heater. Not sure how often the food gets cycled through but mine have always been warm. I've definitely had better samosas and I have previously found a hair baked into one of my orders (which account for the lower rating) but it's pretty convenient to swing by for a snack. The hair thing only ever happened once so no need to fear, I'm sure it was a fluke!

Good selection of dishes.
Karen C.

Good Indian food here! Didn't go for the buffet ($15.95?) as we can't eat that much. Cheaper for me to order a la carte off the menu. I also feel the food is fresher when they make it just for me ;). Had the fish pakora, lamb curry, butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, fish curry, and aloo gobi. Enjoyed everything with naan bread. Nothing too spicy. Finished off with a good Indian coffee. Spacious, good for groups. Lacking atmosphere and decor, but the food is good. Friendly service. Pay by credit card at the counter.

Amazing buffet but you have to go at the right time. Early lunch or early dinner time. Plus their sweet selection is amazing!

I was not expecting this restaurant to be as big as it is. The space here is truly massive, and…read morewhile it was mostly empty when we came at around 2:30 - I can picture the hubbub of activity that would be present during peak dinner hours. This does seem to be a highly recommended place to eat Indian food in Surrey. I had the Non-Veg Thali, which isn't on the menu, but the waitress helpfully let us know about. It's very customizable - and I went with garlic naan, rice, two tandoori chicken pieces, lamb vindaloo, and shahi paneer - all in a single plate! Pretty much everything was excellent. I'm not even sure where to start. The garlic naan was fantastic. Soft, buttery, with just a slight hint of garlic and lightly charred on the outside. I could honestly eat this by itself and be satisfied. Garlic naan is a staple of what I order whenever eating Indian food, and this might be the best one I've had. The shahi paneer was also great; tomato-forward, creamy, and the paneer was super soft. The lamb vindaloo was a real standout. It was immensely flavorful - not lacking for spice at all - but you don't just taste capsaicin - you taste all the cumin, cardamom, and garam mixed in with the curry. But the lamb itself is the best part of the curry; it's so tender and juicy. The absolute peak, though, was the tandoori chicken. These were two large dark meat pieces, which were cooked to absolute perfection - retaining so much juice and fat. The skin was a perfect deep orange, seasoned with a ton more spices. It's like eating fried chicken but without the breading, but this was arguably even better. The masala fries were the only thing kind of a miss - as they lacked any masala. The price of the thali was only 23 CAD. That's a pretty insane deal for how much food you get - I was unable to finish everything on my plate despite being very hungry. Honestly two people could share this and be satisfied. When you consider how much sharing and new orders for bread, rice, and curries goes on at your typical Indian restaurant, this is crazy good value. Overall, I would classify this as the best Indian food I've had outside of Asia. 9.5/10

We even arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. The samosas were crispy and flavorful. The lamb curry was super tender and had a nice spice. The chicken vindaloo and butter chicken were also amazing. We also couldn't get enough of the garlic naan.

They gave two slices of naan bread. The masala chicken is good, but the portion is smaller than other places. The restaurant is quite small with large tables. The location is central and it was easy to find street parking on Main Street. Even though it was a Saturday, we were the only table for most of the evening. We were a bit anxious because of the lack of customers; however, there were delivery drivers picking up orders regularly, so it looks like most people did not dine in. The place is clean and seating was comfortable. There is a bell on the table for us to call the server when we were ready to order. We ordered the Lamb Shan-e-Babur that serves 2, the Prawn Coconut, and the Chicken Karahi. The dishes do not come with any rice or naan, so we had 2 orders of rice and 2 orders of naan. Even though the rice portion was generous, we still found it quite pricy. Each of us was given a bottle of water (Pure Life), unnecessary use of plastic is not something that I like to see. And even worse was the surprise when we got the bill that there was a charge for it! The food was delivered by a robot. The portion was reasonable and the taste was good. The lamb was well cooked and tender, the prawns tasted very fresh, and the chicken had the perfect taste, the spice level was just right for all of us. The only thing that was a problem was there were some small sharp broken pieces of bone in the Chicken Karahi, my friend had a painful bite when she thought she was only having the sauce on rice. I would come back for the taste of the food, but I will definitely turn down the bottled water.

I would also describe the food as modern since there are some cool fusion dishes such as the mango burrata (I didn't end up ordering this but I wish I did!) I love lamb biryanis and this place has the most colorful and aesthetic lamb biryani I've ever seen. The samosas were also plated with a lot of creativity and artistic touches. Overall the food was very flavorful. I'm already thinking about my next bowl of biryani!

I want to start this review by giving a big shoutout to Pemba who was our server, he was so kind and took such good care of us and recommended really good items based on what we wanted. Everything I tried from here was 10/10! Some stand out items - :: Bombay pomfret fry - OH! The masala and coating on this was sooo good we were sucking on the bones till the very end. Such a great appetizer! :: Lasooni palak burrata - I was a little apprehensive about this at first because burrata and palak didn't seem like something I would want to try but I was wrong! This was one of my favourite dishes. It was such a delicious fusion item. For dessert, I would recommend getting their soan papdi malai khwaab and their malai ghewar. Not too sweet, just perfect. For drinks, aam pana with gin is the way to go. I really cannot wait to come back and order everything again!
