Simply put, DELICIOUS! Service was amazing. Young lady working the front. Big smile, and genuine. Fast serve and prices are on point. I felt like I just stepped back in time to when I was a little boy buying pastries at Gigante's bakery in Pittsburgh. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories! Stopped in for a sweet treat and was amazed at the selection of cakes, danish, and all manner of sweets. I picked up a package of biscotti and a jelly donut, though I was tempted by all the beautifully decorated cakes. There was only one person ahead of me, so I was able to be in and out of this shop quickly. The person who helped me was helpful and I would definitely recommend this cute shop. read more

They make a great cappuccino. The coffee is strong and rich-flavored. Now they use to make decaf cappuccino as well and sorry to say they now scowl at me when I ask. As if I ask for a shot of Bailey's in my coffee. I was told they never did which is NOT true. The stars are for the creative cupcakes which are also delicious, the cookies and pastries are amazing. The bread,rolls,stuffed and plain croissants are absolutely fabulous. I would like to say all the cakes are great but it has been hit or miss. Have ordered from the case not a custom order for holidays, birthdays and special dinners. Sometimes they are delicious and taste freshly made. A few times it tastes like a day old box cake. I could do better at Stop and Shop and again not all of them. Consistency would be nice and I am just not sure if maybe there were a few day old cakes and if so then maybe tell me and give me the option if I want to take it. There was an absolutely yummy chocolate BD cake and the cake pops have been good treats. No real seating - I think there are two stools by the door. This meant to be take out and go. Some staff more knowledgeable and helpful when ordering a lot than others and understandable with high turnover places. read more

I came here recently to order a birthday cake f oh r my son's first birthday. I met with them in person and emailed some inspiration photos. I would say the cake design was not exactly what I had in mind but looked nice! I liked the cake a lot, it was moist and not too sweet. I just didn't love the chocolate frosting, no chocolate flavor. I came back to get some treats for my husbands birthday - I got him a Boston crème donut and all of their Oreo treats! The Oreo cupcake was amazing!! I love their cake but again, the frosting didn't have much flavor. The Oreo brownie and mousse cup were delicious! My husband said the Boston crème donut was delicious and packed with filing! Cute and classic family bakery - a massive variety of all the baked goods you can imagine and more. They also have donuts and according to other reviewers, empanadas! The prices are super reasonable and the people are very friendly. I've tried their donuts and apple fritter, which are quite good and would be excellent if they just had more glaze on them. Next time I plan to try some of the more standard items like the brownies and am very interested to try the empanadas! A very pleasant experience - would recommend trying! read more

If you need a cake or backed good for a special occasion, Baba's is an excellent choice. The staff is very helpful and can make suggestions or make whatever you have in mind. The quality is always excellent and I always get lots of compliments. We've had Birthday cakes, even a wedding cake. It's also super that if you have a food allergy they can tell you, for example, whether there is almond flour in a cake. Love this bakery! read more

We arrived after they were closed but they were nice enough to unlock the door for us and let us in. Very friendly staff. This was our first time at Baba's and we will definitely be back. The desserts we so delicious, I didn't have time to take a picture before they were fully devoured. Can't wait to come back and try some of their other treats. read more

F and I stopped in this lovely bakery while we were in town on business. Baba just looked so interesting and enticing. When we went in we were greeting warmly by one of the owners. Her husband was the baker and she ran the store. The cases were well stocked ( empty shelves, is a pet peeve of mine) with yummy looking cakes, pastries, bread and cookies. We spend some time chatting and met the baker husband too. (I'm sorry I don't remember their names) We only purchased a huge chunk of crumb cake, which was delicious, but would definitely make this our go to bakery if we lived nearby. read more

I'm a crumb cake connoisseur. I went in to get some muffins and donuts and coffee. Than their crumb cake took my eye. It's 2/3 crum and 1/3 cake. This is how crumb cake is supposed to be. I took a bite and all the crumb crumbled off. I was disappointed. I've had the same ratio on crumb cake and it stayed intact after biting it. This cake was dry and crumb was also dry. It should've stayed together. Their coffee was very good. And the buttered roll was very fresh as well as the glazed cruller I got. The crumb cake will not prevent me from coming back. I've been here before for their bread and apple turnovers. They never disappointed. I will be back but not for the crumb cake. There was more crumbs in the bag after I took a bite than in my mouth. Nice local small business worth trying. read more

Great product and great service! As a self proclaimed connoisseur of sfogliatelle and other Italian pastries, Baba's sfogliatelle is as good as it gets! And if that weren't enough to put them on the map with a superlative, this Italian bakery also offers a seldom found Portuguese treat known as Pastel de Nata (or Pastel de Belem) tht is among the best outside of Portugal. Also noteworthy are the cake pops (daughter's favorite) and Lobster tails (Always a ladies favorite!). I haven't tasted everything but I am working through it! But when I went in to buy an assortment of pastries I was skipped and another customer was taken care of. I told them I was next, but they both talked over me. So, I left. We stopped in here today because I had heard about it, but hadn't had an opportunity to stop in until today. Pastries, cookies, cupcakes and cakes look good. Lots of holiday themed desserts. Bread looked good as well. I am just a little confused as to why an Italian bakery makes and sells empanadas?? We weren't really looking for anything, but figured we needed to at least try something. We got a traditional chocolate brownie. It was OK. Yeah - just OK. If I didn't know we just bought it from an actual bakery, it could have come from almost any supermarket bakery. Perhaps it wasn't one of the best items, but we figured that brownies are pretty easy to do well. Not sure if we'll be back since there is an EXCELLENT Italian bakery (Sorrentos) a couple of towns over. read more

Great little bakery! I moved to the area recently and visited one afternoon. I purchased a rainbow cake, and several pastries and all were good. The owners are warm and friendly. Someone mentioned that they can't understand why an Italian bakery would sell empanadas. Well, that's because the owners are Peruvian, and then again, who cares. Folks can sell anything they want, it doesn't change the goodness of their bake goods. Now if they sold shoes, that's a different story! I'm going back this morning for more delicious baked goods. Ok little bakery in a part of town that is not on Main St. Friendly staff but their options, the day I visited, weren't abundant. I was picking up for a party I was attending so I decided on their already packaged cookies (I was pressed for time). She assured me they were baked in the past 24 hours but upon trying them, they surely weren't (consensus of party goers). They also had no pignoli or rainbow cookies...*head scratch*. I also had their fruit tart which was average. They have coffee, bread and your normal run of the mill pastry selection. A somewhat decent spot to pick up some last minute baked goods but I feel there are better options in the area. read more

The staff is lovely. The products are meh at best. We've been visiting for about a year now. I keep going back hoping the last time, or the last thing we tried, was a fluke but so far it's been the same experience every visit. Madison is in need of a decent bakery and I so badly wanted this spot to be the cute local bakery it could be. In terms of baked goods; Items are dry and taste a day past their prime. Most recently we grabbed a key lime tart and the curd was brown. The crumb cake was flavorless and hard as a rock. We've also tried the croissants, cake pops, cupcakes, and cookies. Everything just feels like they make too much and it sits in the cases too long. I'd love for them to focus on freshness more and less on quantity. read more

Made a perfect Elmo cake for my son's first birthday. They even delivered it to my house when I asked! The driver was wearing gloves and a mask, I really appreciated that. I originally reached out to this bakery, and a few others, on Facebook messenger. Babas was the only one to respond. I spoke with several different employees on the phone after that, and each one was wonderful. I NEVER write reviews, but their customer service was so good I had to write one! A wonderful, polite, and conversational woman runs the place. She is always accommodating for when I have to grab an early coffee and make my train. The croissants are better than any I have had in NYC (at more than half the price). In fact, I will get a large coffee and a few pastries, and the total is still less than half of what I'd have o pay for the same breakfast in the city. All in all, great value for the quality, quantity, and service. I love starting out my mornings at Baba's- always fresh and fast coffee and intellectual banter with the owner. read more

I've stopped here to pick up lunch literally hundreds of times over the past 30 years or so. Sorrento's is as good now as the first time I went there, probably even better! The sandwiches here are outstanding! The quality of the ingredients is first rate and the prices are very reasonable. There's plenty of salads and soup here to go with the sandwiches also. The stars of the show here for me though are the bakery items. Whether it's the cakes, donuts, or pastries, I've never had anything here I didn't like. Some favorites for me are the Napoleons, Lobster Tail, Linser Tarts, and Black & White cookies. My wife loves the Red Velvet Cupcakes and the Cannolis. The Thanksgiving pies from here are always a huge hit. If you haven't been to Sorrento's Bakery, check it out. I'm planning on stopping here for many more years!

The staff was friendly and patient when we decided on what to order. Five items were tried, and each will be described below. Black & White Cookie ($4.50) - This was a traditional sweet that was done right. There was a nice balance of the chocolate and vanilla flavoring while the cookie was not too soft or hard. Chocolate & Vanilla Pretzel ($5.50) - This was very interesting. It was not overly sweet and was large. It was just a different type of pretzel. It was a tad dry, but not bad. Pumpkin Donut ($3) - This had a nice texture, but the actual donut did not have enough sugar I thought. The pumpkin frosting was just right though. Cinabun ($5) - This was very solid. It looked like it was going to be filling, but it was lighter than imagined. The cream cheese frosting was too much for me, but it had a nice texture. Swiss Chalet Wrap ($13.99) - This came with fried eggplant, arugula, tomato bruschetta, and a balsamic dressing. This was my favorite item tried, no doubt. The wrap was filled and nicely made with a good balance of the ingredients. The eggplant was fried ideally too. It was a well put together wrap. The coleslaw that was provided was plain, but there was much provided anyway. Will I go back? I would.
