Really wanted to like them because the people that pick up the rugs are very friendly, but when I got my 15k rug back it did not look the same at all. It was much dark and flatter than before. I don't want to say they ruined my 15k rug but they kind of did and they just said that these things happen to certain rugs and you signed a disclaimer saying that things can go wrong. So beware, there is a chance they will ruin your very expensive heirloom rug and you will pay a steep price for it and get nothing back. read more

I reached out to Babash Rug Services to see if they would be able to connect two runners together to create a custom size. They asked to see the rugs (I sent a link), and came back with a "Yes, of course!" I asked if I could send them directly from the manufacturer, and they also said yes to that - no problem. A few weeks passed after the rugs were delivered from the manufacturer. I finally reached out, and they said the rug was ready for pick up. I scheduled the appointment and went in. The final product was completely unacceptable. The two rugs that were connected had two different piles - obviously a manufacturing issue - but it looked like two different shades of the rug had been sewn together. I asked why they didn't call me to tell me there was an issue. "We thought you knew about it." How was I supposed to know about it when it came from the manufacturer? Also - why didn't they call to just confirm? These particular runners - a Persian style - had a border on each end of the rug. Instead of connecting the rug so the border didn't show in the middle of the rug, they left the border. I asked why. "Well, you wanted it to be XX length, and so we had to." Why didn't you call to confirm? I would have told you to ditch the extra five inches so we could have continuity? The runner looks terrible. This could all have been avoided with a simple phone call or text (their preferred way of communication) with some photos. I would have returned one of the rugs, spoken with the manufacturer, and made sure that the two rugs to be joined had the same pile and color. I would have asked that they shorten the rug slightly so there isn't a random border four feet into a 17 foot runner. When I wrote back to them and asked for a refund for the shoddy job, they offered $150 of the $400 charge. Insane, considering their lack of communication set me back a couple of grand on the rugs alone. This could have all been avoided if they'd just called me to ask these questions, instead of just assuming a customer was totally okay with a product that looks like trash. The color difference in the photos don't do it justice. As a response to the below: No, the differing colors aren't your fault. Your lack of communication on both the color and inclusion of the border is your fault. read more

I have a client who had a stained French area rug with moth damage that had been in her garage for years that we recently rediscovered. We found Babash on Yelp and all of the great reviews. We contacted them and they were very responsive and suggested that we bring the rug in for inspection. I took the rug into their Canoga Park location and the owner greeted me personally. He inspected the rug and based on his observations, touch, and smell, and his extensive knowledge, he suggested that it may have been glue even though we thought it was animal feces. He shared that he would try his best to get the stain out with their treatment methods and explained the process very transparently. Two weeks later, they contacted us to say it was ready and they had gotten the stain out for a VERY reasonable price. You can't even tell that there was a stain! The moth damage would require extensive costs due to the craftsmanship and time required and so we're deferring those repairs at this time but again, Babash educated us on the very skilled and intensive process it would take to repair the moth damage. Thanks Alex! Overall, the reviews on Yelp were all validated based on our experience. The owner, his son, and his team are very realistic about setting expectations, communicating, extremely knowledgeable, and professional. We have a wool rug that our new puppy was using as a potty pad. It had stains all over it & smelled like urine... it was getting really bad. We couldn't get him to stop going potty on this rug. We used all kinds of carpet cleaner on it (which can apparently destroy the rug even worse) to try to get rid of the scent so that he wouldn't smell it and think that it was a place to go potty, but nothing stopped him. The rug was disgusting. We thought we were going to have to get rid of it, but we decided to have it cleaned first to see if we could salvage it. We had someone come to the house to clean the rug but it was so bad, after looking at it, he said he couldn't do it but he referred us to Babash Rug Services. He said that they do more in-depth/thorough rug cleaning, which is what we needed. We brought the rug to them in horrible condition and when we went to pick it up after it was cleaned, it was like brand new! They did an amazing job and it looks like the rug was never dirty. it looks beautiful and has no bad smell. They definitely exceeded my expectations for this rug! They had great customer service and I felt that their pricing wasn't outrageous. It was well worth it! I plan on bringing all of my other wool rugs to them for cleaning in the future. I had rated this company 5 stars when I first brought in with my urine saturated and moth infested rug. My name and review is still on their front page! Many years later, it was the very same area that has the many moth holes with just as bad an infestation! The urination was not cleaned completely and the worst is when they restored and put back my rug. They covered the old urinated area under my sofa which delayed this discovery. I am only writing this review to bring awareness that maybe urine enzyme treatment is not effective as it has presented. It is necessary to be transparent and professional about this. Customer's expectation needs to be guided in advanced with a preventive protocol otherwise it WILL REOCCUR without any new urination exposure! Old protein residue might still be there covered under sofa without routine vacuum is a recipe to foster moth growth! I have exact the same occurrence at all the old damaged area. This time I am going to go through a few treatments and preventive moth routine care before I engage $5,000.00 restoration work! I will also like to see Babash more responsible for this result with procedure to manage reoccurrence but review or test their enzyme treatment to make sure it is effective. read more

What a horrible experience! Took my rug in because my dog had an accident on it, to remove the stain! That was the only reason! The rug was dirty but the stain was my concern. The onwer and his wife were present when I took the rug in. The owner (Reza) clearly explained how he is going to wash the rug and remove the stain by "painting" it. I was concerned if the new paint color and the old color would match and the wife (who seems to be very sweet) assured me that this is his husband's job for the past 30 + years and he knows what he is doing. I even mentioned this is a sentimental piece from my grandma to me and it's very important for me to fix it and they said don't worry we will fix it. They said two weeks! More than three weeks gone by and no sign of them, meanwhile my mom was visiting and no rug in my home!!! I finally called after three weeks and he said "oh the rug has been ready for a while, come get it." The next day comes a text from them (after I called anyways) that the rug is ready for pickup. I went there, so excited to see my clean rug! I go and he showed me a before and after picture! The stain is still there!!! I said wait, the stain even got bigger and is still there! He said well, if you want to fix the stain, it's an extra $400! I already paid $245 (for a 30 year old rug) and he is asking for another $400! I started arguing with him and he kept raising his voice, his son came out of the management room whom wasn't present at the time of deal and clueless! Started mumbling some thing, I tried to ignore him but he kept jumping in and I could smell a strong odor from his mouth which suggested to me was alcohol, it was 11:30AM! They both kept getting in my face, at this point I was in fear of my life! I said fine I'll take the rug, no need to argue with people who seems to be not in the right state of mind. I paid cash in full, I still needed some change back from them but I jumped in my car and left without getting my change back. It was horrible!!! Please note that I'm not a mean person or vindictive, I actually am a teacher and I am very fair. They seems very normal when I first met them. I saw what I saw, I heard what I heard and I smelled what I smelled. Never going back there again! Please be extremely careful. read more

We had a great experience with Ali and his crew. We had a very dirty white shag rug to be cleaned - including pee stains from our puppy - and they did a great job with the challenge! Ali did tell us that the urine stain wouldn't be fully removed - the dog would still be able to smell it and re-mark it, but to us the odor and stain are completely gone (and now we're keeping the dogs away from it!) I found Ali to be very easy to communicate with - especially via text which I always appreciate because it's so much easier. Babash have two locations: one on in West Los Angeles, and the second in Canoga Park. I live in the San Fernando Valley, so I dropped my rug off at their valley location. (They offer a pickup and delivery service,) First, the staff is so helpful and friendly. This is a family owned and run business, and you really feel a sense of family in their care for you product and for the customer. I recently bought an ivory vintage rug from Morocco and brought home. When I examined the rug with the awesome guy in the front office at Babash, he level set on making it a pure ivory color again due to its age. Since it is old I knew that it had likely yellowed over the years but also imagined that some of its brownish tinge might be compliments of the Sahara or a camel or two who'd curled up on it for a nap. I agreed to have it washed regardless. When I picked it up I could not have been happier. While, yes, it does still show some of its age (who doesn't) that brownish yuck is GONE!
