Waited 12 minutes before a server even noticed us, and took our drink order. This is unacceptable on a weeknight. I know a lot of the issues with this place are because Burleson is a train wreck when it comes to going out to eat anywhere. Never enough parking, and ridiculous waiting lines. The roasted chicken was some of the best I have ever had. The sides were good ole southern comfort food. All the food was brought out to use at once, when she handed me the fried chicken she was this was "2 orders of fried chicken" so I assume she was going to bring out 1 more order but never did. My party also didn't know how many pieces were in an order so we assume our server was right. Our food was great, sides good, I forgot how great the corn was! She asked us how checks were gonna be split... most of our party was separate. My friend who didn't get to place an order because the server ignored him even received a check for an order of fried chicken that he didn't place an order for and just shared with our party. My couple friend who shared an order... 1) we weren't aware if you share you'll be charged a "vegetable plate" 2) our server never mention that and other Babe's location ever told/charged us that before. So my friend who didn't order end up paying for food he didn't actually get. Service going downhill fast. Second time in a month with poor service. Wait staff standing around talking by kitchen, managers talking with cashier instead of watching floor and employees. Empty drink glasses for 10 to 20 minutes. Not filling all drinks at table. Generally no one watching customers at table. we tried to flag down anyone for replacement silverware for dropped silverware on floor. No one watching!! The corn was my favorite side and cuts through all the saltiness of everything else. The mash and gravy were as expected. The chicken: smoked chicken had a nice smoky flavor. The chicken tenders were better than expected. The fried chicken really hit the spot. The white meat was tender and moist - the way white meat should be. It was a very satisfying first 10 minutes... ...then you hit the wall. You start to slow down. The salt is over-bearing and you feel like crap. It's a feeling you never want to feel again. I seriously thought I was going to pass out or vomit from too much food. I honestly think the food was simply too salty. Some say, this is a place you go to every few months. I'm sad that this location doesn't have the train running around the villages inside like the Arlington location has, but I also admire that each location has its own unique look. This casual dining house is just what it appears, simple, family style food with casual atmosphere and service. So simple, but so good. Menu consists of Country Fried steak, fried chicken, sometimes chicken tenders or catfish, but always serviced with mashed potatoes, green beans, cream corn, rolls, and gravy. DEFINTELY not for those on a diet, but seriously it is a great gift every so often. Visit it once and you will be back. Service is fast once you get a table, but you may have to wait at busy times.
