A sign outdoors advertises the flavor of the day and a monthly menu of each flavor of the day is available online, if you want to plan ahead for your visit. If you've not been to this Milwaukee icon, it's a must-stop; the custard is really, really good. The retail store is set up like a 50s type diner, and there are plenty of folks ready to take your order. There is no seating indoors, just a few tables for standing-only to munch and chat. However, there is outdoor seating like a mini amphitheater on cement steps, and when the weather is nice, it is not unusual to see large groups of customers sitting outside eating ice cream or other treats or burgers. My date got a scoop of the dirt cake in a cup. We switched half way through so that we each got half a scoop of each. I will mention, 'scoop' is deceptive. My scoop filled my entire cup. They're very generous with the scooping! The Door County brownie ice cream was chocolate ice cream with generous chunks of brownie, and, of course, Door County cherries. The cheese was nice and melty and gooey too. For what I spent for the burger and fries I would pay that amount at Kopp's but that would include a shake, but because I don't spend that kind of coin for a cheeseburger meal like that it's okay.
