First warm week of the year, Babe's did not disappoint. Walking by on the street one can instantly see the welcoming vibe of the shop. Workers were upbeat and kind, patrons were filled with smiles and laughs. Many ice cream/frozen treat (vegan) options to choose from including classic scoops with toppings, shakes and malts, and various cone styles. Had a single scoop and was able to share the leftovers with my dog on their outside seating area.

Super tasty ice cream flavors, with so many to choose from! Staff was kind, but quiet. Inside was small, but there is a perfect outside area to enjoy your ice cream. I love how they have dairy free (like 10 options) ice cream! A huge plus. The only negative is the price, we paid $17 for two cups of ice cream.

tl;dr a staple of Kinnickinnic Ave. and a place for families, date nights, hot summer days and more! Gotta love Babe's family owned and operated since 2005! It's a seasonal shop that has about every ice cream flavor you can imagine and creates so many substitutions and "free" options that everyone is accommodated. Dairy free, egg free, tree nut free, gluten free, peanut free, soy free and all natural. In addition to being Kosher certified they even have flavors with no sugar added, caffeinated and non-dairy oat based ice cream! 32 flavors to pick from leaves you standing a bit overwhelmed but the fact you can try a little sample helps you narrow down the field. My 3 yr old twins were strictly COLOR based so a birthday cake with big pops of blue and a pink something was the winners. My husband and I did combos and I fat Elvis and salted Caramel mix! The place is so cute instead the walls are painted in colorful characters and kids enjoying ice cream, all with the classic black and white cow print woven in. You'll always see people sitting out on the patio, enjoying their ice cream and watching the bustling activity on the street and passersby. We will always be happy to support this local shop!

Always had a great experience going here! The service, location and ambiance were great! They have many unique flavors for ice cream & some other items on their menu as well! You can also ask for samples before getting your own and that was probably the best part!

Was craving something sweet and wanted to try a local spot. Not going to lie, I am a sucker for anything butterscotch. I got the scotcheroo with pb, butterscotch and chocolate. It was really good. My only complaint is price for qty. 6.50 for one small scoop in a waffle cone seemed pricey compared to the plenty of custard shops here in MKE. Would be willing to stop by to try another flavor if I was in the area for dinner but won't be rushing back.

If you're looking for a place for ice cream in Bayview, this is a great options for the after dinner or spontaneous ice cream treat. They have plenty of options of flavors including several vegan options, so there is something for everyone! The staff is friendly and helpful, and they're always happy to let you sample any of the flavors before making a decision. The ice cream is delicious we got a cone and a shake! Seating is available outside to enjoy some people watching while enjoying your treat!

I had a really good vegan brownie sundae from here. The only things keeping it from being amazing is the soy ice cream they use. It's not as creamy and yummy as cashew milk, oatmilk, or even almond and coconut milk. It was still good though and I would return if in the area again. I love all of the vegan toppings that are available, not just nuts. There are also other vegan goodies like shakes, ice cream cakes, and ice cream sandwiches. There are lots from which to choose, so kudos to them for that.

We stopped here for some sweets after lunch. They had a pretty good variety of flavors but I felt some were a little odd and not something that most people would embrace (e.g. black licorice) Also, in the end, I was not a fan of the chocolate ice cream that I had but my kids were satisfied with their choices

Super torn up about this review. I like this place, I really do. Today I tried the zoreo ice cream and it was delish! Babe's has a robust selection of soy ice cream flavors which is cool as the Bay View neighborhood has a lot of people that eat a vegan diet. Thumbs up. Interesting, tasty and fun flavors all around. The prices here always give me sticker shock. Always. I think I might need to obtain a second line of credit just to get a single scoop ice cream here. Seriously. Today I got a single scoop and it was $3.93! And, it was stingy. Like, I've never gotten a cone that small and still paid that much money. Like what the heck do the people that own Babe's think that the rest of the people of the world do for a living? Me, I'm a social worker bro.

Nice bright and colorful place. Very good ice cream. A tad pricey, but good ice cream will cost more than a cone at McDonald's.

Good ice cream, WAY overpriced. You can get ice cream just as good at half the price at other places.

First, it is worth noting that this is now Gather Bakehouse - same owners, but the name has…read morechanged because they no longer make macarons. I never had a chance to try the macarons, and honestly only found this one because the place that I normally get cinnamon rolls from when I went to treat myself was closed for a holiday break, so I decided to use yelp and branch out and find something new. I was not disappointed! I also tried a ham and cheese, croissant, which was delicious, but I will definitely be back for the cinnamon rolls. They also sell day old cinnamon rolls at a discounted rate, and I am eager to try those as well, because I love the idea of food not going to waste, saving money, and I heat up my cinnamon rolls anyway so I bet it would still be delicious! If not, I am happy to pay full price for the fresh kind, especially knowing that the bakery helps support community members with food insecurity (see photo). They have a sourdough membership, and even though I make my own sourdough (with mixed results), I believe I will try this just so that I can experience all the different varieties they create. I think it will be fun to have something like this to look forward to a couple times a month.

First and foremost, I am big on Parisian pastries especially chocolate croissants. My fiancée told…read moreme I had to try ham rolls on Sundays "because it is a Wisconsin tradition". So we came here one Sunday and got a pound of ham, cheddar cheese and onion rolls. We also had one chocolate croissant and a sprinkled donut for some sweetness in our lives. When we got home she put together these sacred traditions like it was Christmas morning and I had to patiently wait to be told to dig in. Well, not only did I dig in but the ROLLS--they were so crunchy on the outside with the perfect amount of onion and soft/chewy on inside. It went so well with the ham and cheddar that I literally drooled after my first bite for a second. I only use one piece of cheese for two slices of ham, I found that while I might be marrying a Cheese Head, I am slowly becoming one and two was too many. I was also told that it was a cardinal sin to put my BBQ kettle chips in my roll for extra crunch and favor. It didn't need it but I thought why not put everything on my plate together. I'd go back just for the ham rolls on Sunday--if my fiancée would let me lol. The pastries though? The croissant was almost spot on to the ones we had in Paris. I could only tell a slight difference in the layers and butter but it isn't important. This is a gem of a place and while it takes a minute to order and go--it's TOTALLY WORTH IT!

*Update* After seeing my review this is the response I…read morereceived from this "professional": Wow, you really have a lot of time on your hands to now go and post a bad review about my business. Go to hell **I've updated again based on this "businesswoman's" response to the review. She claims she was verbally assaulted. I've attached my email to her stating I was disappointed. If anything I believe telling someone to go to hell is a bit more insulting and maybe I should feel verbally assaulted? This lady really is a class act See original review below: Let me start by saying that the prices displayed on the website are absolutely fictitious. Secondly Judi was very short and rude in her correspondence as soon as I began asking clarifying questions. I requested a quote for one of the most simple designs on her website, from a page that stated that an 8" cake will serve up to 25 people and begins at $54.99. I've attached the picture from the website for reference. All I asked to be changed was the color of the accent icing from blue to pink and silver to gold. When she responded she quoted an initial quote of 20 servings at $75 and 30 servings at $95 (on the website a 10" cake serves up to 38 and starts at $76.99). When I inquired as to why the price jumped $20 she only responded with "My pricing is based on added decorative details that are added to the cake. Please advise." ... okay... so I confirmed we were talking about the same cake and then asked how much it would be without the bottle and pacifier, literally the only two pieces of decoration. She said to subtract $10 from her quotes, again not trying to explain anything. Just very short and rude. So basically, a plain iced cake is $10 more than the quote on the website. I wonder what type of product you would get for the actual price on the website, perhaps simply the cake batter? I'm so sick of businesses gauging their customers for every little thing. Is it really too much to ask that they have some integrity and actually respect their customers or potential customers?
