Baby blues is reopened after a devasting fire. but it now has vegan options. the eggplant and seitan skewer are magnificant. be sure to get the spinach and baked beans-- heavenly. of course it has the regular bbq options for the meatosaurous, but do try the vegan stuff. you won't be disappointed. Baby Blues BBQ Catering is OUTSTANDING!!! I used them to cater my Dad's 70th birthday for about 25 people. They arranged for everything (BBQ rental, tables, setup, serving, clean up, and serving SENSATIONAL food). Their team was as friendly and helpful as imaginable...professional and easy to work with from start to finish. The staff at the event were awesome, the presentation was great and most importantly, the food was raved about by all! In particular, everyone loved the Memphis Ribs, the Babyback Ribs, Cornbread and the Mac n Cheese. And the BBQ chicken was great too. Many folks at the party asked for their number and hoped to use them in the near future. It was a total success. I can't recommend Baby Blues highly enough! 5-Star experience for sure! read more

These guys are great. I recently went to the Stagecoach Music Festival and they had a booth at Guys Stagecoach Smokehouse. Out of all the 20 or so BBQ stands they were by far the least expensive one. I had the Pork Suicide king which had the pork, cole slaw and the best cornbread around. Also the girls who worked the booth were very Friendly and helpful when it came to describing what the dish was. They always had a smile on their face even after a long hot hard day. I can't wait to someday try one of their restaurants when I'm in the LA area because I know if the food taste half as good as what they had there I will be very happy. Learned of Baby blues BBQ from an episode from the Food Network Channel. So I thought I'd give it a try. Upon arrival at the west hollywood location we were sat near a piece of art that depicted a dark complicted man writing on a chalk board..He wrote.."Obama 100th Monk".. However you could tell that the character in the piece of art wasnt finished writing the last word. Puzzled I called the waiter over and ask what is the character writing? He went on to tell me that it said Obama 100th Monkey! He als advised me that the restaurant received numerous compliant during grand opening..by the way grand opening was 1yr and 1/2 ago... I'm an African American female and needless to say I was "offended" by the art work. I cancelled my order and advised the waitress of my concerns. In my opinion, by the art work still hanging on the wall 1 1/2 later gives me the impression that the owners think that it's ok and are desensatized by what it represents. I will be posting a picture of the art work at this restaurant on facebook and advising people on my twitter NOT to patronize Baby Blues ! I'm very very disappointed! read more

I have used BBB four times to cater lunches with customers in the LA area. I love that they are apart of The Office Express and will deliver almost anywhere. 1. I love the bbq chicken, I don't eat pork so sorry no report on the ribs/pulled pork 2. Initially the collard greens were weird but just okay but I got a off batch because now I live for them 3. The cornbread is not your traditional cornbread, it's heavier and just different but good.. it's paid so well with collard greens. 4. Beans are average 5. The Mac and cheese is good but I am lactose intolerant so really have had a lot of this... Overall, I will continue to order from this place as since the initial order (which was okay but not great) food has become good and reliable.. and my customers love it!! read more

We selected Baby Blues for our wedding reception because of their amazing BBQ, yet also received a fantastic catering team to help set everything up in the process. The manager Kasey, was especially awesome. She was always available, put our worries at ease, and did a wonderful job coordinating everything! We had tried a variety of restaurants for catering, including multiple BBQ places across Los Angeles. My wife and I thought Baby Blues had the best food of the group. That and they also seemed very professional and courteous. We ended up getting the three meat platter with the three sides, and that worked out great! We had so many complements on the food, with a few people even going up for thirds! They even provided separate meals for special requests, and had it arranged for the reception. Baby Blues Catering Team is about as good as it gets. They all were extremely professional and cordial. They moved all the chairs from our ceremony to the reception area and set up all the center pieces and table settings. They constantly went around to make sure everything went smoothly. They even recommended a great party rental place! We used them for bartending service. Their bartenders were very professional and made the setting look and feel like a real bar! Kasey was awesome! She made everything run very smoothly, had a specific timeline for how everything should be run, and was always available. She gave us quite a few great suggestions for what to order, how many, and cocktail hour. With Baby Blues, you just can't go wrong. Great food and great service. I love BBQ and I loved when Baby Blues had a location in WeHo. So last night I decided to make the hike to Venice for some good BBQ. The food was good as always but the parking and the area . I really miss the other location. I don't know who decided to close the WeHo location but I think they made a big mistake. I am going to have to be really craving some BBQ to go back there. Just had a wrap party for the company, and the Baby Blues crew came out and did us up right! Everyone was raving about the food. The BBQ was delicious, the chicken was juicy and flavorful, the pulled pork and beef brisket were both tender and yummy, I can't wait to go back and visit the restaurant again. The sides were all scrumdelicious! The mac & cheese was a favorite among kids and adults both; the beans, cornbread and cole slaw were all got thumbs up as well. The stars are for the delivery driver and the baby back ribs as they were both good. I spent over $500 (Not including the tip) on just meat for my daughters "Baby-Q" baby shower. When I searched for places that would deliver I ran across Baby blues. I called and asked questions. (I always ask A LOT of question so there is NO misunderstanding) since this is her first baby I wanted this to be extra special. She specifically requested smokey Bar b q. Not just grilled. So when I called I asked if it had a strong smokey flavor. I asked if they smoked it for a long time and didn't just grill it. I was assured that this is smoked. That it is "Slow and low" and that it had the strong smoky flavor. It did NOT. It tasted like it was grilled with liquid smoke.Very disappointed about that. I requested the chicken be cut and that the breasts be slit in two. They cut the chicken alright, but unfortunately it was with no rhyme or reason. The only piece you could really make out was the leg and 2 of them were just the bone. The wings were cut at the tip and part of it was attached to the breast which they cut across (This gives you a big fat piece with a partial wing attached and the other piece is just bone) The chicken was dry on the small pieces, however the thicker piecer were better. The Brisket..... Probably the most disappointing of all as we LOVE brisket..... They asked if I wanted it chopped or sliced. Told me sliced was most requested so I went with sliced, it was THICK!!!! Im talking a thin steak. It was just Meh! I will note that I got home, cut it up, re-cooked it and added Barbq sauce and it was much better! I made the greens, mac n cheese, potato salad and corn bread muffins myself and I am glad I did. There was a TON of meat left over. I threw away a full tray mixed with brisket and chicken into the trash. I probably wasted over $200 because it really wasn't that good. The ribs however were good falling off the bone. So needless to say future Birthday parties and events will be catered by someone else. Any suggestions? (On a side note: I am usually really good at reading reviews and I would normally have noticed that this company doesn't address any negative reviews. Best place for ribs and sides in LA besides baby blues weho. I'm partial to the westside though. I've had everything on the menu and I love almost all of it. Baby back ribs are my favorite on the menu. Not cause anything else is less tasty just cause its my favorite rib. NOT REVIEW OF CATERING... This is a review of the Venice location dine-in experience. The only reason it's not a 5 is because my wife and I really didn't like the brisket sandwich. To each his own, though. Other than that, this place was very good. We had the slow roasted chicken (5 stars). The brisket sandwich (1 star). Corn on the cob (5 stars). Mac n cheese (4 stars). Baked beans (4 stars) kind of tasted more like chili then typical baked beans but still good in a unique way. Corn bread (5 stars) it's dense. BBQ sauces (5 stars) the very hot... is very hot, but feel free to be a man and set your mouth on fire and pretend it isn't that bad to impress your honey. Atmosphere is a dive, but cool. Food came out super quick on a Sunday afternoon. Prices are reasonable for a good amount of food. Spent about $35. read more

Baby Blues catered my daughter's backyard wedding. Nicolas and two servers arrived a couple of hours before dinner was served and used our grill to warm up the food. The meats were to die for and sides were great. Mac & cheese was a big hit as were the baked beans which are vegetarian so worked well for our vegetarians. They served for about 2 hours. Wow! What an amazing place and great food.. This place is a must if your ever in LA, the owners rob and Rick where so accommodating and couldn't have been nicer.. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, I had the prime rib which looks lim it came off a dinosaur it's so big and the wings (get the hot wings) where so soft and succulent I couldn't stop smiling.. Baby Blues catered at my work once. Their pulled pork sandwiches and mac n' cheese were good, but they're fried okra and banana cream pudding (with vanilla wafers!) completely stole the show. I kept sneaking back for more okra, and everyone at work circled the pudding like vultures. It was beyond good. I'm usually not a fan of rich desserts, but Baby Blues proved me wrong. Service was good and overall a good experience. The beef rib was one of the best I ever had with a good smoke flavor and a nice sauce. I like the sauce in that it had nice flavor and not overly peppered. Sides were all good, The disappointing meat was the baby back ribs. I don't know what happened such as someone forgot to put them in the smoker or something but the baby backs had no bark, no smoke ring and absolutely no smoke flavor. so a hit with the beef rib but a miss on the baby backs. Well with all these great reviews being so old, I have to bring everyone up to date in July 2016. I spent $45 for a four meat selection combo that fit in a regular size foam container. Absolutely Ridiculous- a leg-quarter, and what should have been two selections of baby back ribs was large bone ribs they had cut in half and they did not even cut from the small end of the slab which consisted of probably 6 bones with tri-tip that was not so tasty nor tender. Everything was horrible but the coleslaw. the other sides I ordered were mac n cheese (gummy and no flavor) and the yams ?? - what a waste- I could have really had a good meal at a Thai or fish company restaurant. This meal could not feed two people. so disappointed - just a waste of my money- I should have paid a bill that would have been a very delicious flavor, because I did not get any good flavor from the slop that they served me. read more
