I wish I could reward Baby Jane with more stars but quality has gone down since I last visited. Baby Jane is a cute cocktail bar that also happens to serve decent ramen. I really love the decor of this place, It's very chic and modern (both inside and outside). I would definitely recommend visiting the place in the day and night. It's an entirely different vibe inside and outside. It's normally pretty slow-paced during the morning and afternoon so no reservations needed. On a busy night, it can get packed for dinner and for drinks though. Price wise, Baby Jane is moderately priced for drinks and food. IMO their ramen is a bit overpriced. The base ramen price is about $15 which is a fair price, however, this does not include the most basic ingredient, egg. Eggs are $2-3 extra. Other ramen essentials are considered "extras" so in order to build a "standard" ramen you'd be looking at $18-$20. Other than ramen, they have lots of budget-friendly bowls that run about $10 each. Service: Service was pretty good. My friend and I sat outside and we were attended to, however, definitely took a bit longer than usual as it seems like most of the servers were occupied indoors; however our server was really attentive and courteous when she was attending to us. Food: Tonkotsu ramen I remembered the Tonkatsu Ramen being really good (for Miami) but was really disappointed this time around. the broth was not fresh, the oil started to clot on the surface. This is an indicator that the broth has been sitting out for a while. The ramen itself was also cold and stiff while the chashu pork was burnt. The seaweed was also really soggy even the parts that did not touch the soup. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with their tonkotsu ramen that day. Maybe they were having a bad day, so I will definitely give it another shot sometime soon and provide an update. read more

Covid-era review. This local noodle bar feels like a very New York place to find on a Brickell/Miami street corner. The space is relatively small inside and dominated by a glamorous bar, although in current times the majority of people are going to prefer the outdoor seating options. There are 3-4 high tables that fit two apiece, 3 booths for larger parties, and other assorted seating arrangements. We had the tonkotsu ramen and the fried chicken bao buns. The ramen is delicious, savory, and has thick slices of pork belly with some pleasant, charred flavors. The bao buns have a great sweet and sour sauce with some citrus accents. read more

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to finally check out Baby Jane. After months of seeing it on social media and hearing other friends rave about it, I decided since I was in Brickell and craving some ramen then that I'd take the plunge. When you first walk into Baby Jane, you'll encounter a dimly lit bar with music playing softly in the background. Once I arrived with my friend, we decided to head to the bar which ended up being the smart choice. The server who assisted us was great at guiding use towards choices that were popular and also quite great. Because they were out of shishito peppers, my friend and I ended up ordering the Pork buns which ended up being an amazing choice. It was flavorful, a nice blend of sweet and spicy. As for the drinks, they were okay but not the best. If were to come back, I would probably stick with the beer as a safe choice. Now in terms of the Ramen, I am a bit divided. My friend and I both ended up ordering the Shiro Shoyu Ramen. I did enjoy the ramen and found it to be good, however, in terms of the depth of flavor I found it to be lacking. Once you finish eating the noodles, vegetables, and chicken, the broth is mehhh. I've been to Ramen places where I've asked to have the broth to go to finish off later. Over all, I do think I'd check out Baby Jane again if I were in the Brickell area craving Ramen, but I don't think it would be my first place on the list for Ramen if not. read more

We wanted to grab a drink before the show at James L. Knight, and we are a little hungry too. with a little search of places we both had tagged and wanted to get to, Baby Jane at least was a match geographically. It is in fact, right across the bridge from the theater, so about a 5 minute walk. When we arrived it was only 4ish and I think that was to our benefit. There was no lunch or dinner crowd yet. We grabbed a great lounging table outside and got a couple of beverages. We weren't sure what we were going to get but once we saw the Tonkotsu ramen, it was obvious. We are always down for some good ramen with pork broth. With a couple bowl of ramen ordered, we added on a "Betty Davis" and another fancy drink. They came out fast. Once again mine was the girly looking one, that seems to be happening a lot this month. They were both great drinks, with thoughtful presentation. The ramen came out soon after, and was delicious. We are picky on ramen when we eat out, and I can say it was top-o-the-line. Excellent. Along with excellent service by multiple servers, it couldn't have been better. When we wanted to he check to get going, it came out in a hurry. Over all, it was a solid experience. I've only been to this place before 8 pm so I really can't talk about it's bar/lounge hangout scene. But let's talk about the food I've been here twice, both on a Sunday around 6:30 ish. Sat outside and received great service with very helpful servers to navigate you through their menu. My favorite dish was the ramen. I truly think it's one of the better ramens in the area. tonkostu (unsure of the spelling) was the one that I ordered and I'd order it a million times again. There's lots of shareable plates that are reasonably priced. We got the dumplings- there were only 4 in the order. We also got the street corn. Right in the middle of financial district of Brickell, who knows they serve ramen? Simple and straight forward menu. Tonkotsu Ramen cost 1/2 of the ramen nearby, twice as good! Tasty broth, not as salty like others, which I prefer. Enough fat, velvety on your tongue! I drank all the broth, left the ramen back! The ramen was thinner, curly, wish its a bit more al dente. Pork belly Chashu was perfect charred! Scallion, Black Mushroom yummy! Pork belly bun was good. Edamame was tasty with teriyaki ponzu sauce, very unusually but tasty! Bebito cocktail by Barman Tony was fab. Our server was Juan was great. He was attentive and nice. Not sure why others didn't like it! My go-to ramen spot in Brickell. Miami's ramen game is really struggling, but Baby Jane does a pretty good job at satisfying my deprived cravings. Their Tonkotsu broth is rich and fatty, while their Kombu broth is sweet and lighter. I've found in Miami, sometimes the veggie broth is considerably less flavorful, but vegetarians can rejoice that's not the case here. The noodles are cooked to still have a nice bite as well. The only con was that the music was super loud. I came on a Friday night around 7pm and the music was blasting from speakers on both sides of the restaurant. What a scam. Went here Friday w my friends and they gave us all placebo drinks. Aka mocktails. Aka no booze to get looze. We could tell this was routine but they were willing to gamble; I'm guessing most patrons come in drunk already so only 1/5 actually catches them. We immediately identified the absence of hard liquor and told our waiter. The waiter quickly offered us shots- this is how he had covered it up before, we could tell by how quickly he went into autopilot. The shots came (no Fireball? And you call yourself a bar?!) and they were maybe 1/4 size of a real shot. They charged us full price though, not 1/4 the bill. I've gone to Baby Jane several times throughout the years and recently went for drinks and dinner. The earlier you arrive on a weekend, the better. As you'll have more seating options, and the service will be better. The seating is a bit limited inside but there is also outside seating. Their drinks are pretty tasty and can vary as I've had great drinks made, but other times they've been a little disappointing. I am a fan of their corn yakitori, shrimp bao buns, and Brussels sprouts. The service is usually good, but at times it's not the best and the servers may lack attentiveness. This is an amazing hidden gem in miami ! With most restaurant being closed by 12, I started searching for some late night food options and stumbled upon Baby Jane. The music was amazing, beautiful decor, the service was amazing as well, the ambiance inside was great with many people inside drinking, dancing and having fun. There are also a few spots outside to have food and drinks which is a bit more quiet, as far as the food I ordered the gyoza which were amazing, although they aren't crispy they were served in a soup form. I then ordered the karaage chicken which was amazing as well, very tender and juicy also a bit spicy. My favorite dish has to be the dessert, the donuts with ice cream are to die for !!! Saturday night... group of friends sitting around the kitchen table, drinking, talking, laughing. It's around 11:30pm and we want to go out. We're in Brickell, most of the places have a "dress code" and one of the guys is wearing shorts... what to do? Obvious! Look on Yelp! I searched for nearby bars, with casual attire and found Baby Jane. According to Yelp this is a "Hot and New" place so, of course I had to go. About 5 minutes away, driving distance, we arrived to the bar. Good amount of people going in, bar was full, dim lights, DJ playing - mostly hip hop the couple of hours we were there. There were some tables open, and before I even asked if we could sit if only having drinks, a server came, with a big smile and invited us to sit wherever we liked and he would bring menus right away. He brought us the drinks menu and late night bites menu. Waters all around, he answered some questions on the drinks and recommended some. On the table we had: Melon Baby - unfortunately (and this was unanimous) this was not good. I suggest not ordering it! Old Fashioned - this was very well prepared. Moscow Mule - tasted like lemonade. I think their ginger beer was flat Jack & Coke - you can't mess that up. Plus, this means they have a full bar so, if the "specialty drinks" don't interest you just tell the bartender your drink of choice. Just don't make it a shot - only thing they were able to do was straight tequila (no, I did not have this). Del Toro - this was good but, again, I think their ginger beer was flat so was missing the little kick from it. Regardless of the issues with some of the drinks, our server was great! Upbeat, friendly and very attentive. Drinks are about $13 - $15 each, typical in Miami. Décor is pretty cool, especially the sign on the wall that says "I'm not your baby" when the bar is called "Baby Jane". Over all a great place to go have some drinks with friends, in a laidback, casual environment. Rounding up because I really liked the place and service but this should really be 3.5 stars. read more
