You have to love a place that just says what it is with no pretense. That's what you've got here: Babylon: right on the main drag that features other less notable drinking/dining options. It is in Babylon. Burger- this is where the establishment sets itself apart. I had the Great South Bay, clearly named after a local geographic feature. If that's the direction they want to go, then we need to rename that body of water the SUPERB South Bay, Or OUTSTANDING South Bay, or just BEST South Bay. Those would be more accurate appelations for the sandwich I was served. Delicious beef, topped with more beef, onions and Swiss cheese, with some Cabernet sauce on the side. Just exquisite, with very good fries and an excellent Cole slaw on the side. I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the burger menu...and I will. Bar- great beer selection, and the Sloop Juice Bomb IPA paired perfectly with the beef. My lovely wife had a blueberry cosmo that was special enough that I took a picture of the recipe on the menu. Great beer and drink selection. The ambience is lovely and the service sublime. Jess was our staff person tonight and she was perfectly attentive and efficient. My only worry about my inevitable return is that it will measure up to this incredible initial experience. You know what? Never mind...I'm not worried. Situated right on the corner of the Main Street; you can't miss it but good luck finding parking close by. Around back you can find a parking lot that I recommend. Place really got a great unique look to itself. They do have outdoor seating and on a nice cool Night I recommend it. We started with the Bavarian pretzel and everyone loved it. Baked just the way everyone like and fresh. Lightly salted with three options of dipping sauce. Cheese, honey mustard and for someone who doesn't like mustard , their spicy mustard was delicious. I decided to go for their summer time Special that is far from a burger. Lobster roll on a toasted buttered bread. At the first bite I was a bit disappointed but if you can get pass the bread the second bite was delicious. This is a compliment; it's not Your main lobster roll but comes real damn close. Has a side of potato chips which was alright. I did have a chance to take a bite of their great South Bay burger and it was full of flavor. Really delicious; Meat was cooked just the way my partner liked it. I had to try their version of an old fashion and it was horrible. Just stick to a milkshake, lemonade or water. This was a stop on Babylon's Food Done it? Tour. My group was given a huge pretzel and sliders. The pretzel was delish! Soft inside and crispy outside. The beer cheese was yummy. I didn't have any of the other sauces but they were grainy mustard and honey mustard. It's big, can be shared between 3-4 people. The sliders I didn't have. But both of my friends said they were delicious. Service was good! Our waitress was sweet and continued to ask us if we needed anything. I would return for the full experience. I think I have a new top burger on Long Island, the lunch I had at Babylon Burger Bar was pretty outstanding. I walk into a nice looking space. Bar up front with the hostess stand and small restaurant in the back. The space is tastefully decorated, its a nice looking gastropub. I'm seated at a small table. The past reviewers are trashing the wait staff? My server Anthony, who I have to mention did a great job. He was at my table every few minutes asking me if I need anything. This review is all about the burger. I ordered a beer on tap as well as the "Bacon on Bacon" burger. The combination meal comes with hand cut fries. I have to break down the burger, it was so well crafted that I'm still thinking about how awesome it was: Bun: Brioche. I'm not sure if they make it on premise. It was a fresh bun, a little spongy that allowed the bread to hold up to all the toppings Meat Patty: This is a rib eye blend that's seared on the flattop. By searing the patty, it give the burger patty a caramelized crunchy topping. More importantly, the beef is flavorful. It tastes like a high end burger. Well done with your blend Babylon Burger Bar. Bacon: The jam was a nice surprise. A little salty, a little sweet, this was a homerun hit. The bacon strips? It's mostly for effect, I'm not a bacon strip guy. At the end of the meal, I was seriously impressed with Babylon Burger Bar and the menu selections. The only issue? A burger, beer and tip cost me $30 bucks. It's always exciting when a new burger joint opens. I heard a lot of good things about this place and was not disappointed. If you're lucky enough to find street parking in Babylon Village you can't miss this place as it is right on the corner of Main Street and Deer Park Avenue. The layout is well done with a decent sized bar area to one side and dining to the other. After being seated almost immediately me and a friend sat in a nice cozy corner. The tables were close together more than I like but it's wasn't obtrusive. They have a nice cocktail menu, but I was feeling a White Russian this evening and it was made really well (you'd be surprised how often I've ordered a White Russian and it just comes out terrible). Of course my friend and I go to a burger restaurant but order sandwiches...All around me people seemed to be happy with their burgers. My friend's chicken sandwich looked delicious and she seemed to enjoy it. I ordered the "Ribeye Sammie" and it was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The meat was well seasoned and cooked to my desired temp. I was really pleased with this detail and it was in fact cooked to my request which was medium. My only complaint was that the meat was a little on the fatty side. The actual highlight of my meal was the sweet potato fries and marshmallow dipping sauce. Crisp but soft on the inside. A group of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch yesterday at Babylon Burger Bar. The menu offered many interesting choices, it was definitely hard to decide. I had the Baha Chicken sandwich (delicious) and the rest had a variety of their burgers. We were all very satisfied. The staff were fantastic. Went here after a Christmas show at Argyle Theater with my family. Saw it was conveniently across the street so we went in. The menu is crazy huge so you'll def find something for yourself. The hostess was sweet and sat us down immediately. Our waitress was super nice and very hospitable, especially with a toddler and a 1st grader with us. My mom had a grandma chicken sandwich she loved, and the presentation was great! I had the burata burger, super juicy and perfect bun! Fries crisp and hot. Kids had chicken fingers, they weren't the super crunchy type but still had good flavor. Had lemonade, thought it would be homemade but it tasted like a ready made version or possibly a mix of some kind, wasn't a fan but it was decent. The order that made this place my new fave is the huge shakes! Stack high, frosted outside with candies and such. My nephew got the birthday cake shake which had an actual slice of cake at the top! Along with a pop rock Candy stick in the center. I got the brownie sundae shake, with a brownie on top along with 2 double chocolate chip cookies on both sides of the glass, vanilla frosting with chocolate chips packed on. The brownie super decadent and sweet, mixing it into the shake hit the spot. I changed out the menu default of chocolate flavored shake for vanilla instead, perfect update. I promise they deserve it! I pass BBB on my frequent trips to Argyle, but I never went in. Surprising, since I'm forever on the quest to find the perfect cheeseburger. Today I met up with a friend. She had heard good things about BBB and it was bookmarked on yelp for me so when she suggested it, I said absolutely. We met up at 230 on a Friday afternoon. We were seated immediately due to the minimal crowds. The restaurant is very well lit and feels very homey. There are fun pictures on the wall and the music played classics from Billy Joel, Elton John, Journey, Genesis, and the Police. I was born in 1985, so this music just felt like home to me. My friend and I decided we would each get a burger and cut it in half so that the other got to try it. She got the Bayberry BBQ Burger, which had the burger with bbq sauce, onion straws, bacon, and pickles. I wasn't feeling too adventurous so I got a create-your-own with the burger patty, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, and bacon. We both got fries and we split a milkshake (more on that later). The burgers were brought out in about 15 minutes. They were warm with a nice-size serving of French fries. We had full size bottles of ketchup, mustard, and Tabasco on the side of the table. The waitress brought out a garlic aioli sauce for the French fries. It was amazing. The waitress told me to let her know when I was ready for the shake. She must have been watching our table because she didn't wait for me to tell her I was ready, she just instinctively knew I was ready. My Oreo milkshake looked like heaven. The little kid at the table nearby pointed and said wow!!!! My inner kid pointed and said wow!!!! There were several other options available, but as I said, I wasn't feeling adventurous and Oreo is always a safe bet for me. I was able to finish my burger and fries, but we were only able to take down about half of the shake. The waitress was impressed with our efforts! I've complained on other reviews about the price of a meal. I don't mind paying a lot for food, but I feel like it should be worth it. At about 16 dollars a burger and 15 dollars for that shake, our afternoon lunch was practically the cost of a date-night dinner. But the money is well spent. I had an angry orchard with a perfectly cinnamon sugar rimmed glass. The men had a beer and my friend loved her Moscow mule. The food was very pricy and cost way too much for two people though. Even though delicious, for two burgers, 1-2 appetizers, two drinks, and a dessert was about $100. The food was delicious and the drinks where good, I don't want to discard that. If it wasn't so much, I would go more often than I am. The reason why I'm giving three stars is because of the price. This was a great burger place. It replaced a restaurant that was below average so this is a nice addition to town. My husband had a great burger with goat cheese. My daughter had a burger with bacon and cheese and I had a vegan burger. I have no idea what the ingredients were bc it wasn't a veggie burger (which should be added to the menu) but vegan. I am extremely upset by the terrible service here. It is my second time here and very likely the last. The first time, I didn't have an issue. This time was horrific. The waitress gives me time to look at the menu. Ignores me for 40 minutes. And comes back. I told her nicely I was ready a long time ago. She said, well I'm here now. Puts my order in. And someone comes out with a to go bag. She said it must've been a mistake. I feel like it was done on purpose. They don't want to serve me and my two year old. She brought it back to the kitchen. And they brought it out on a plate and the shake in a glass cup. Didn't bring utensils nor napkins. Tried calling other waitstaff. I was totally ignored. I had to wait another 30 minutes for my waitress to notice me and bring the utensils and napkins. I am very angry and feel upset. If I knew that I was going to feel unwelcome here, I wouldn't have came. This unwelcoming experience has made me loose my appetite. So I immediately asked to put it to go.
