Hello! My boyfriend I recently celebrated our four year anniversary. He loves Turkish food and I found this restaurant through Groupon. The restaurant is charming, inside and out. We sat outside; the twinkle lights and high walls created a blissful atmosphere. I almost forgot I was on a busy street in South Miami. The service was excellent, the waiters were attentive and nice. The food was wonderful, I ordered the Sea Bream, it was delicious until the last bite. My boyfriend and I met the manager and thanked him for the wonderful service. Fantastic ambience, there's traffic bustle, but who cares? Beautifully decorative and the wait staff is quite friendly and accommodating. The manager is a great guy who always checks in on you and cares about your patronage. The Dumas was spectacular, and the yogurt it came with was a perfect complement to everything else at the table. We ordered family style and got the lamb and chicken shish. The lamb was bursting with flavor, and the the chicken was melt in your mouth good. the Mixed Grill Platter was for me just ok. the presentation was great but the flavor of all the meats were just ok. the lamp chop i was asked how do i want it cooked. i requested medium rare and it came out cooked well done no pink in it at all & it had a lot of fat so it was a tiny piece of lamb that was actually edible which was a disappointment. the rice on both plates was very wet almost pasty rice. the consistency was not very good but it was edible. the shrimp babylon my gf really enjoyed. she said it had flavor and the shrimp were huge. so that was a bonus. the mojitos were made very well! the zucchini pancakes were over fried. they tasted almost as if they pre-fry them then fry them again when some one orders them cause they were not crispy & not easy to cut thru. we did not order desert because i was turned off by the food. the service was ok but we were surprised to have the tip added to our check at the end & forced to pay it because we requested it be removed so we could tip at our discretion & the waitress told us she can not remove it. i googled it & found that its a thing south beach does. add the tip to the end of the check & the manager can remove it but most people don't bother. so we didn't, we paid our check & left. over $100 wasted money. south beach has a lot of really good places. this place is not one of them. read more

The food was really good. We ordered the octopus and mixed grill for two. The server charged us for an appetizer we never ordered. It was bread and dips so we were unaware that it was extra or not part of our $54 entree otherwise we would have sent it back. That was $21. We were charged auto gratuity even though it was just 2 people dining so I'm guessing he didn't want to take it off for his mistake because it would have affected his guaranteed tip. He also asked if we wanted still or sparkling water as soon as the menu hit our table and I quickly noticed upon opening the menu after he left that it was $6.50 for each bottle. Had to stop him at the bar to keep from spending $13 on water. The food was good but do not appreciate being manipulated as customers to make the bill higher and guarantee a good tip when the server was sub par based on this behavior. read more

We had visited 'Babylon' a couple of months ago, and we had a good time, so we decided to go back the other night with a couple of friends. I will start saying the food was excellent as the first time we went. We had a meze sampler, fried calamari, various kebabs and surf and turf and everything was very good. Two issues clouded our enjoyment. First, our waitress. I forgot her name, but she was over-zealous, to the point of clinginess. She was as clingy as a barnacle. Multiple times she interrupted the conversation, already difficult because of the noise, asking insistently if we wanted something else. We asked for the check, which took 20 minutes to get to the table and she wanted to offer Turkish tea or baklava that we had previously declined. Second, the alcohol. My husband ordered Johnny Walker Black and I asked for Absolut and cranberry. They said they didn't have Absolut, so I settled for Stoli. It was not Stoli nor Johnny Walker: it was cheap alcohol that made us sick for two days, with bad headaches and massive dehydration. Avoid having drinks. read more

Had the opportunity to visit this place for dinner tonight and was looking forward to it because of all the positive reviews. First of all, food was mediocre. In the middle of my plate, i noticed a hair on chicken piece. I showed it to the waiter and he seemed upset that i brought this to his attention. He was extremely rude to our table, threw the check on the table. We wanted to take this to the manager but didn't think it would make a difference because all the waiters n host were looking our way and talking about US for their mistake.
