The service was friendly and attentive. I have to say the highlight dish of the night for me was their focaccia bread given at the beginning of our dining experience. It was warm, soft, and I think I ate too much of it while waiting for my coworkers to pick their food. It is served with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was so simple but so tasty. I ended up ordering their chicken quesadilla and it was uniquely presented. The dish consisted of multiple layers of flatbread and sausage/chicken/cheese/tomato stacked horizontally on one plate. Nevertheless, the sausage and chicken were tasty on their own. If you come here, do not skip the focaccia bread! The prices are slightly higher than average for dinner. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in the area and craving some good Italian food. read more

The focaccia this use for the sandwich is the same as the complimentary bread they give you. The bread itself is really soft, so it's actually not great for a sandwich because the structure doesn't hold that well. I wish the focaccia had a bit of crisp on the outside like what I recently had in italy. The chicken itself was fine, but since it's breaded I wish the sandwich had a fresh green in is to balance it out. The grilled onion and roasted peppers were good, but maybe some arugula and a squeeze of lemon would work well with this dish. Recently ordered pizza from Babymoon Cafe when in Durham for a visit to Duke Medical Center. After a long drive and 3 very tired people, we were looking for an option to deliver food to our hotel. Babymoon was what we selected after a Yelp search. The transaction was seamless - a super friendly and efficient person took my order via phone. She even asked if we needed plates, napkins and forks. Around 45 minutes later, the pizza arrived. It was still hot and so good! It was a New York style pizza, and the crust was delicious. We chose pepperoni, mushrooms and extra cheese as our toppings, and they were all tasty. We'll definitely use them again when we're back in the area. read more

If you talk about ambience, patio seating, their cute sign this place has all the makings of a cute date night spot. I had been to Babymoon cafe years earlier and remember the food being decent. I am not sure if pandemic changed up things but my recent visit was very disappointing. The place was buzzing and we were promptly seated. Our server seemed a little confused but was sweet. Our fitst order came out wrong but was promptly corrected. The margherita pizza was okay, nothing special and the fresh basil flavor was missing. We were also given an additional side of focaccia for the mistake. I would really like to give them points for Customer service. We ordered pesto pasta as well; the spaghetti reminded me of something straight of grocery store shelf. The peato sauce was heavily watered down, no seasoning and flavors were lacking. I was so disappointed that a picture was last thing on my mind. Tried to bring it home and salvage with some additional seasoning but the pesto sauce was really off. I really hope they work on their pasta flavors because for the price quality was really missing. The food here is actually really good. And the portions are pretty big, as you can tell from my pictures. The bread that they bring out in the beginning was really soft. A little too soft. I had a good time at this restaurant catching up with my sorority sisters for lunch. We were seated promptly. Our food also came out in a timely manner. We ordered a variety of dishes. Everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered the grilled salmon with herb butter, herb risotto, and grilled veggies. Everything was very tasty. I especially enjoyed the salmon. The salmon was moist, tender, and flavorful. My risotto was a little overcooked but tasted good. The portion was OK but could have been larger for the high price. Our hostess was pleasant, professional, and friendly. She was also gracious enough to take a picture for us. I will visit again. The free bread was amazing. The table had a chicken topped salad, chicken Marsala and a shrimp tomato soup. All of it was good but not great. I had the Marsala. I never had Marsala with onions. I hate onions and that's why I always order a Marsala when at an Italian place. Dish was loaded with them and the description made no mention. So I was already turned off. I picked out what I could. Otherwise the dish was good. Chicken was done right and the mushrooms were awesome. Though there wasn't much flavor in the sauce. Little taste. My dad who had the salad said his chicken was rubbery but the rest of the salad was good. And the soup was excellent. The main reason for the 4 stars is the waitstaff. Very attentive. Perfect! I'm not sure what to think of this place. I've eaten here a couple times and gotten takeout and it's like the personality of the food changes each time. Definitely a solid place to grab a bite. There are lots of options on the menu. But the inconsistency is difficult for me to get past. The bolognese is awesome one night and mediocre another night. It's not bad per se, but for the price point the consistency needs to be there. My personal favorite is the bolognese so maybe that's why I'm so picky about it. When it tastes amazing one time, I want it to taste at least mostly amazing the next time. If the food consistency tightens up a little definitely a 4/5 stars!! The inside is super fun and just has great personality. I really like when a place takes so much care with creating ambience that makes a place special. It can get pretty loud so be aware of that during peak times if you're going to eat inside. read more

My father decided to surprise me with lunch at Babymoon Cafe before my flight home to Indy. This was a wonderful Italian restaurant with beautiful ambiance and decor. The menu looked terrific and our waitress was very professional and friendly. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with a side salad. My father and his girlfriend ordered the grilled salmon salad. Both dishes were excellent and extremely fresh! The bread and olive oil they brought out first was wonderful and a good starter for our meal. Babymoon Cafe is a wonderful hidden treasure that is right close to the Raleigh Durham airport, and I'm surprised that not a lot of people know about this restaurant. This was a wonderful treat that my father provided to me, and I look forward to coming back to Babymoon Cafe for dinner one night with my father when I come visit him for the holidays. The restaurant decor is absolutely stunning and gorgeous, and makes you feel like you are in Italy itself. I highly recommend this restaurant to the locals in NC or to anyone visiting from out of town. The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. The only redeeming quality about the restaurant was probably the cute ceiling light decoration. The moment we walked in we were shuffled along between three different "hosts" who finally got us to someone who was able to seat us. We ordered three dishes: the rigatoni, fussili, and marg pizza. We should have known when they brought out their bread - which was drenched in some garlic oil, making the bottom of the breadsticks very soggy. The pizza: hard to see from my photo but it's was 95% just bread. There were also chunks of tomato (imagine a whole tomato just chopped into 8 piece cubes). The toppings literally just slid right off the bread (I say bread bc it was more a loaf than a pizza) The fussili: can pastas become soups? Because this one sure was. It was boiled noodles with steamed chicken and broccoli. Imagine a pasta meal prep. the rigatoni: probably the only palatable dish. All the noodles did taste like they were boxed dried pasta - which was quite disappointing Tl;dr: you may be able to find better italian at Olive Garden. read more

OMG so good. I went here with a friend after work and was blown away by the food. We started with spinach and artichoke dip and it was VERY creamy so just FYI if that is or is not your style of dip. I personally loved it. They also put bread and oil on the table which is a delicious focaccia type bread and the oil also seems to have some balsamic vinegar in it. VERY good. I had the special salmon dish which was served with roasted potatoes and asparagus and an Asian ginger wasabi sauce. It was definitely good! Although next time I would certainly try something else. My friend got the special seafood carbonara. I tried it and it was good. We also each got a dessert at the end - peanut butter pie and tiramisu. HOLY MOLY SO GOOD. Food was good and service was decent at first. But, when your server makes the monumental mistake of confusing your bill and card with another table, thus resulting in a goliath debit card pull for $183 on a $50 bill...you failed. This is the one unforgivable mistake any server could ever make! Now, that charge will sit as a pending transaction for the next 4 days with the cash out of the bank and there is no remediation until then. I'll post pics of the food but my chances of returning here, are slim to none. I'm livid. 1 STAR just bc the ravioli was good. **Update: In response to the business manager's reply, I fully appreciate the empathy that Jimmy, the GM, showed when he came over to apologize and attempt to remedy the situation. Sure...that amount being pulled from the bank is not pleasant, but we have plenty to get us through. It's the principle and how the server approached me about the issue. He was slick and tried to pass it off as no big deal, and with no sincere apology. I asked him once what amount was charged, and he dodged the question, stating it would just be a hold and would fall off in a few days. I, then, asked sternly, "may I please ask what amount was charged to my debit card?" When he replied, it was a lackadaisical, "oh, just $185." His entire approach and lack of empath is probably what triggered me the most. I had to get up from the table and walk outside just to cool off. He knew he messed up. Bad. Then, he tried his best to make it seem like it wasn't a big deal. Not cool. Thank you, for the offer and the second attempt to smooth over, what could have been a very good experience. I don't "need" the $200 loan but your offer is admirable. I'm going to take a week or two to calm down from this and reassess how I think. Had he only came over to the table first to ask which card was mine because he mixed them up, rather than taking an unnecessary risk by running it through, this could have all been avoided. He made the choice to gamble on black and that ball landed on red.
