Overall: Sabatino's doesn't really wow in any particular category. Was hoping for more but left with a very mediocre experience. Food: The food here was normal for lack of a better word. There wasn't anything that made it stand out from a standard pasta dish you could get at an Olive Garden. The cheese on the baked ziti came in sort of a goop, so it didn't really separate with each bite. Service: The staff here was great. We came during lunch time on the weekday it seemed like she was the only one working aside from the kitchen. Made it kind of hard for her to manage multiple tables, and we ended up waiting a decent amount of time for things to move along. Ambiance: The inside was large with lots of tables and plenty of seating.

We live near by and had been wanting to check it out. I'll be honest our first experience we walked in and were greeted very rudely for not having a reservation and then told we had to have one (no option to wait or anything- we happily left). It took us a little time before we decided to try again and decided to try at lunch when it may not be as crowded. My husband and I decided to split a salad and pizza. The salad was very fresh and the fried cheese on top was delicious. The pizza was a nice size and had good flavor. We both had different feelings on the crust. Everything else tasted so fresh but couldn't tell on the dough. The flavor of the pizza and the salad were good. The location is ideal for us and I am sure we will try another time.

My boyfriend and I visited Sabatino's during lunch on a Friday. There were only two tables filled when we came in, both with small parties. Despite that, service was extremely slow - I don't blame the staff though. It seems they were understaffed and one waitress was doing many, many jobs. Unfortunately, this wait time affected our overall experience dining in. My pasta was good, but I wish it was either crumbled or cut up. It was difficult to eat/cut up in the bowl it was served in. Overall, good food but waited very long to receive water/have our orders taken/get our food/get our check.

Sabatino's Italiano is now open in Apex. My husband and I dined in for dinner and had a good experience. We started off by splitting the arancini siciliano and a house salad. Then it was the lasagna with a glass of wine for him and the butternut squash ravioli special with a glass of wine for me. It took a while for our meals to come out and mine ended up being wrong. They served lobster ravioli instead of butternut squash ravioli in the brown butter sage sauce, luckily it was fixed quickly. The service started to slow down because a lot of parties all came in at once so I think they could have benefited from one more server or a bartender. Overall, we liked all of the food and the service was friendly. On a side note, a reservation is recommended.

We were in Cary, NC for a tennis tournament and wanted Italian and we found just that in Sabatino's Italiano. When we saw that the restaurant was in the same lot with a gas station's fuel pumps, we did a double take but the restaurant looked inviting and we went in much to our enjoyment. The inside is well thought out and oozes character. The open kitchen lets you know that they are serious. We were seated quickly and it was off to the races. For appetizers we ordered the calamari fritti and a Caesar salad. Both were tasty and well portioned; my wife and son particularly liked the Caesar salad. For entrees, we ordered the lasagna, bolognese and the Tuscan soup. All of the dishes were outstanding! The pasta is homemade. The bolognese was unbelievable and the soup! C'mon! It was so good. Each dish had fresh ingredients and it was very evident that the chef takes pride in his work. We finished the meal with a "Tartufo", a gelato dish with a cherry and almond center and a chocolate exterior-Wow! We also ordered a lava cake with gelato; it was tasty, as well. Portions were generous and it was impossible for us to come remotely close to finishing the food presented. Our waitress and other staff were attentive and very friendly. So if you're around the Raleigh/Durham area and want some truly legit Italian cuisine in a cool restaurant with great staff and a killer chef, Sabatino's Italiano is the place!! Thanks, Sabatino's!!!

3.5/4 stars. So the waitress was incredibly nice. Very helpful. The appetizer we ordered was really good. 4 stars! But the eggplant was just okay and so was the other special we ordered. They weren't bad, it just didn't wow me with the flavor.

First off, service was great - can't remember her name but she was so sweet and attentive. The food however, fell a little short for me. Both dishes we got were incredibly salty. The frutti di mare lacked a lot of flavor, it was missing the deep tomato taste you crave in this dish. The house special just lacked a lot of flavor overall, nothing to write home about.

We tried this new Italian restaurant last night on a whim. Very casual and relaxed atmosphere. It was a nice and relaxing dinner, in true Italian fashion. They were a little short staffed but made up for with delicious food. The hot bread and olive oil were right on time. My wife had the lasagna and I had the pan seared sea bass with risotto and grilled asparagus. Both were delicious. We finished with a scrumptious tiramisu. It was homemade and perfect for two. We will be back.

Bottom line: My first visit at Sabatino's was good. The meal was nice overall, noting that the carbonara was a bit heavy with the cream added but enjoyable. I liked the lemon ricotta cheesecake for dessert, great selection. Only one server/bartender to cover everyone during this late afternoon visit was noted, but very positive and helpful server during the challenge. The Deets: I saw Sabatino's ping on Yelp recently so I ventured over to check them out, located in the small shopping area at the corner of Davis Dr. and Old Jenks Rd. in Apex. I was greeted promptly at the entry/host area and shown to a table with a menu to look over. They have a good variety of Italian style selections with appetizers, salads, soups, pasta, and main entrees. It was a good bit until my order could be taken as there was one server/bartender covering the three other tables present and the bar area as well during this late afternoon visit. My server was very pleasant and helpful while doing her best to make sure everyone was taken care of there. I decided to start with the Italian Wedding Soup and their Caesar salad. The soup was delicious, I enjoyed it as it had great flavor and not bland but noted there were not many meatballs detected. The Caesar salad was nice, definitely good portion, but was not evenly dressed. For my meal, I opted for their Spaghetti Carbonara (here served with pancetta, onions, cream, butter, egg). It was a nice portion and tasted delicious but was pretty heavy due to the cream component added here. I am a fan of classic carbonara where there is no cream used (the egg and cheese creates the light creamy impression). I felt like dessert this visit and went for their lemon ricotta cheesecake. I enjoyed it a lot, a perfect slice portion and the lemon really came through with the great texture from the ricotta. I am glad I gave them a try, and will hopefully try other choices in future visits.

I would give it a four star rating if the previous chef was still there, but since leaving the food is mediocre at best.

Used to go here a couple of years ago when it was Ashley Harvest Moon for breakfast, been wanting…read moreto try Spazio for ages. I knew it was a local fine dining restaurant, but just making reservations was an interesting experience. (Call and leave a message, there's no open table. There's a form to fill out. What?" As soon a we arrived we realized a reservation wasn't necessary as we were the only guests there for 30 minutes or so. My wife and I ordered: Glass of Wine, Ravioli, a Roman Pizza, a side of green beans, and a desert of tiramisu. The food was quick as we were the only ones there for a while as other guests came in. But as other recent reviews indicate, the menu options are pretty small, but the pricing and ambiance doesn't meld. I expected more redesign of the dining area that was used by the former restaurant; but that wasn't the case. It was a bit small dining room. I'll go back for an appetizer or glass of wine due a gift, but the pricing is too high for the food and the portion size that you get.

We booked an outdoor igloo for what was supposed to be a special night out with friends, and…read moreinstead got a cold, confusing, overpriced dinner that honestly felt like a parody of a "premium experience." First -- the ordering rules were never explained. Four adults sat down and each ordered an entrée, only to be told that apparently we were only supposed to share one entrée and one pasta for the entire table. How exactly are four people -- especially with dietary restrictions -- supposed to eat that? It made no sense, and the confusion led to us ordering extra just so everyone could actually eat. The igloo itself was freezing. There was one tiny heater doing its best, but only the person sitting directly in front of it was comfortable (YAY ME!). The rest of our party spent the night cold and distracted instead of enjoying dinner. It would get a little warm and then a server would unzip the dang igloo and leave the flap open and we were back to freaking COLD. Food timing was chaotic -- two meals came out, and the other two arrived about 20 minutes later. One guest who is lactose intolerant was hungry while waiting and asked for more bread, only to be told no. That's not hospitality -- that's just frustrating. Like... you can't bring the cold hungry man some bread? I'll PAY for the tiny pieces of crust but good Lord, just poor hospitality. Then the bill arrived: about $437 when we expected closer to $330, largely because of the unclear ordering situation. They SHOULD have 1. explained the "deal" better 2. automatically taken something off of the bill due to the additional meals being 20 full minutes behind the other people at the table. 3. Brought bread when asked ffs. They did take one of the "additional" meals off, so to be fair... when pushed... they did fight back, make a bit of a scene and ultimately took some off the tab. It was never about the $$ by the way... but paying over $400 for a sub par meal in Holly Springs in a cold igloo will be a good story I suppose. And the biggest disappointment of all -- the food simply wasn't good. At all. For the price and the hype, the quality just wasn't there. The lasagna was bad. Risotto pretty good honestly but not great. We are easygoing people who go out often, tip well, and genuinely want to support local restaurants. But this felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and not worth the risk -- especially when we've since heard similar feedback from friends. It's a shame, because the concept could be fun with better communication, warmer setups, and much better food. Unfortunately, we won't be back. We left colder than when we arrived and not happy with the food at all. Just no... go elsewhere.

I chose the lunch special with the Cotoletta di Pollo and house salad. Unfortunately, the bread on my sandwich was burnt when it arrived, but the staff quickly replaced it without any issue. The second sandwich was better, though just average overall. The real standout was the Berry Blossom cocktail, which was absolutely AWESOME! It was refreshing, flavorful, and easily my favorite part of the meal. The fries were also excellent, and the pasta dishes were definitely the stars of our lunch. Our bartender was serving us and did a fine job taking care of everything we needed, but the service felt a little less warm and personable than we typically enjoy. That said, the issue with my sandwich was handled promptly and professionally. Overall, the rigatoni, delicious pasta, amazing Berry Blossom cocktail, and great fries made for an enjoyable lunch.
