This review is about our brunch experience - I am now realizing from other Yelp reviews that this is an awesome DJ/dance venue but unfortunately I did not feel it is an awesome brunch experience for the following reasons: Brunch menu was lackluster - there was no French toast, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, or anything creative or unique that makes you thrilled to be indulging in brunch. There were maybe 8 options and all were uninspiring varieties of eggs, toast, bacon. Vegetarian options - there was only ONE, and it was a soggy bowl of tortilla chips topped with avocado slices. My sister is a vegan so hers didn't have the crema or cojito cheese. Literally tortilla chips in a mushy, soggy pile. The server was just ok - my friend never got a Bloody Mary, I had to ask for one twice, and overall felt impersonal and just alright. I wonder because they include 20% gratuity if she wasn't motivated to work harder. Atmosphere for brunch felt very dark and didn't have much charm as a restaurant venue - I needed sunlight after being in the club all night! God bless the GM here! Was extremely excited to see a concert this past Monday only to receive an "invalid" response when scanning my tickets. I bought from a 3rd party reseller (my mistake). The door man patiently scanned each ticket several times before grabbing the General Manager who very politely explained that I was scammed and sold fake tickets. Before I even had the chance to get upset he told me don't worry about it but for next time only use their exclusive ticket platform. Baby's All Right has been a Williamsburg music venue staple of mine for years and Anna who works the door is a gem of a human being. I used to come here at least once a week to see a show and admit I haven't been for a while, but was able to stop by this past weekend for a show. It can get uncomfortably crowded in the music space quickly because it's a smaller room, and before it was terrible when the AC was broken but that seems to be fixed now. Was here for a friends bday brunch. Plenty of space for big groups. The decor is a bit all over the place, but they make it work somehow. The food is ok, they have a good brunch menu and good drink menu as well. There were some fried chicken dishes that ended up being chicken sliders... I suggest asking the staff if you're not sure what you are ordering because the menu is not clear. If you are looking for a place that can accommodate big groups, this is a good spot, I would come back here for drinks and to watch sports, but the food is nothing special. read more

Went here for a concert last week. I watched the bouncer scream at everyone he encountered and then he screamed at me. One of the rudest, nastiest individuals I have ever met. Keep in mind majority of those attending this concert were girls 16-25. So this huge man towering over all of us screaming at us cause he's too miserable with his life. One of the members of the band happened to hear me complaining to my friend and said he's been hearing complaints about this guy all night and that he made a girl cry. I dunno about Baby, but this place surely 'allright in my book. We were looking for the place to watch futbol after work, and since I finish work early, not many places open yet (I am convinced Brooklyn adopted European siesta times in that regard). Lo and behold, Baby's All Right was open, and showing the games on TV screen across from the bar - plus, kitchen was opening shortly to save our starving souls. Very friendly bartender and servers, props. Happy Hour is fantastic, good beer, good cocktails, good food at great prices. Pretty low key decor with artistic elements I loved. There are many areas to this place - sitting area with a bar upfront, another area to the right, and stage on the back - they have live performances later in the evenings (will have to check it out one of those days). The food... Food is superb. I did not expect it - but it is. Dinner hours start at 5, so we ordered while finishing watching the game, hoping it would come quickly. And it did. I love cauliflower and could not resist ordering it - pretty big portion, fried, with lentils, cauliflower puree, pearl onions and pickled cauliflower around it - great pairing. Main course - blue crab, was sooo fresh. Real thing, none of the canned stuff, trust me on that. Served with some greens and toasted bread, it disappeared in no time - delicious! Casual, cool, good food and happy hour you know you cannot resist - definitely recommend. read more

Bought tickets to a show here at 8pm but decided to come earlier and check out the spot based on the website for the venue, which listed happy hour as "every day from 6-8pm." When I got to the bar at 6:30, I asked what the happy hour special was, and was told there was no happy hour. I ordered drinks and wings anyway and double checked the website, which indeed had listed happy hour under a copy of the menu I was given for food. When a waiter brought out my wings, I politely asked if he knew anything about a happy hour, and the bartender rushed over to ask. I told her that I double checked the website and that it still lists a happy hour. She bluntly said "well it's old" and got pretty defensive about the whole thing. I told her that it was fine and that I was still going to be ordering more drinks either way, and she changed her tune. While all of that is weird and annoying enough on its own, I also have to add that the wings were so subpar that they were maybe the worst wings I've ever had anywhere? If you're coming to see a show here and want to relax with some drinks and food beforehand, GO ELSEWHERE. read more

This place is... Weird. When you first walk in, there's this cool light wall emanating from the left side, and you may think, okay, pretty cool. Then you'll order a drink from the bar and ask yourself... Why is the pre-show DJ spinning downbeat bossa nova/house? Why is no one talking? Why do there appear to be random employees scattered about sitting in chairs staring at their iPhones? (Seriously, the "will-call" dude, the "coat check" gal in her "coat check" hallway, the aforementioned DJ, and especially the top-of stairs bathroom passageway attendant, were all smartphone-tanning the shit outta their faces.) You sip your Modelo and wonder all of these things. Eventually you might need to seek the bathroom. You'll be directed to the back of the second portion of the bar where you'll encounter a door. Down a flight of stairs and around a few corners, you find an odd little bathroom with 2 urinals (1 broken) and a stall. The upper third of the walls are covered in faux-tufted leather that is actually just all-white plastic moulding. When you try to leave the bathroom, you'll find the door handle barely reaches your knee. You might be seriously creeped out by the interior design flaws of this concert venue. When the show finally started, they raised up a little partition separating the front bar from the back, and I thought, "here we go magic!" (Also, that was the name of the band.) They were pretty good, and the sound was great after a few tweaks. The music itself was a tad more schizophrenic than I'd anticipated, but okay... I suppose form meets function at B.A.R. They did manage to whip the crowd into a fervor with raw, frenetic layers of sustained elation that seemed to go on for minutes at a time. Wild stuff. Anyway, after the show, the entire crowd poured out onto Broadway. I could be wrong, but I think we all had the same feeling of relief to finally be free of the venue. Honestly, I'd go back there again for the right band, but I really need them to get their crap together and simplify, so they can become a regular fixture. I knew of/heard of this place as more of a concert venue than anything (had a friend who played here and thought it was a great venue/experience). So when it was suggested for post-concert drinks on a Friday night, I guess I expected more of a front room of a concert venue, Mercury Lounge/Knitting Factory kind of scenario. Instead, I walked into what felt like the worst raging cliché of Williamsburg as overpriced, rich, white, hipster-douchebag central. The DJ-ed music was way too loud to converse at all, and I can't imagine it wasn't audible to whatever concert was going on in the back. We got shoved around rudely by the entitled crowd, and our motley looking crew was not made to feel terribly welcome. Also, good luck trying to get the bartenders' attention if you don't send a willowy 6 ft+ model up to order. I'll throw it 2 stars on the insistence of multiple friends that it's a good venue to see a concert in the back room. And I can't speak to the food, of course. Visited Baby's All Right today for brunch and a cmj show with my girlfriends. This is a spacious cafe / event space with two front rooms with bars meant for seated dining and a back room meant for shows. I got the french toast which was delicious but was missing candied pecans. It was a packed event and I shouldn't have been eating them anyway, but a little notification about not having pecans would've been nice. The space itself is really comfy and the waitress, while frazzled by all of the going ons, was nice and tried her best to give us good service. The bathrooms downstairs was a little gunky, but besides these minor points we had a great time! Our total bill was something like $40 for all three of us and we had a lot of food. Even though there were live performances going on, since we sat in the side room it wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear what each other were saying. The other people who come here are all hip / cool brooklynites and you feel like you're in a hip / happening spot. Lastly, I loved that even though the space was packed we weren't being rushed out. We chose Baby's All Right after an extensive search for the perfect boozy Brooklyn Brunch. When we saw Baby's included a 90 minute all you can drink, we knew we were up for the challenge. We called the night before to see if we would get a reservation for 5, and they told us just to come in the next day and they would be able to seat a table of 5 right away. When we arrived the next morning however, we were told it would be a 45 minute wait, yet there were no people in front of us. We noticed there was an open table with 4 seats and asked if we could just squish in there, which we ended up doing. We didn't even seem too crowded so I'm not sure why that wasn't thought of by the waitress, but oh well we were just glad to be seated. The brunch menu is amazing. For $30 you get to choose an entree and you get the 90 minutes of unlimited bloody marys, mimosas, or greyhounds (grapefruit juice and vodka), also you can change up your drink order as you go which I appreciate. The food options are creative and each one sounded more delicious than the next. I had the pork belly eggs benedict with a side of the crispiest potatoes. I couldn't eat it fast enough. Our waitress I believe was the only person working the floor, though she did a great job serving us for being so busy. Our drinks were quickly refilled and the food came out pretty fast. Once our bill was paid the waitress did ask us if we would mind leaving so the next family could be seated, which caught us a little off guard, but due to the size of the place makes sense. This is for the concert venue and not the attached bar or restaurant. We took a look at the menu to see if we wanted to eat there - it seemed pretty standard/uninteresting so we decided to read a book by the cover and find somewhere else to eat while we wait for the show. Now as for the venue itself - it does have some character as the entire back wall seems to be made out of either ash trays or bottoms of glass bottles so with the different color lights shining through it created a nice effect - I'm sure it's gets better the more wasted/stoned you get. That said the venue is basically a box and most critically the acoustics are pretty poor as the musicians and their instruments sound washed out. We saw Cherry Glazerr here (honestly can't remember much about the other bands except that the bass player from band #2 was a beautiful beautiful girl). Clementine's (that's the lead singer/guitarist in the picture) voice and guitar were rendered completely incoherent. Otherwise it is a pretty intimate venue, probably fits max 100-150 people. And if you get there early enough you can stand right in front of the stage - close enough to shake the artists' hands... read more

I want so badly to be able to write a glowing review for Baby's All Right. The stage decorations are amazing (Every time I visit, I find myself wondering how they engineered those ash tray lights) and the restaurant areas are nicely designed. This venue is definitely a step up from D.I.Y spaces that book similar shows and it's nice to have a solid space left in Williamsburg after the great Vice takeover. They book great bands from the local scene as well as a few bigger names and if I could rate this venue based on bookings and ambiance alone, they would get five stars. Factoring in the actual venue and service however, Baby's All Right deserves three stars at the most. Every show I've attended has had terrible sound. There always seems to be one instrument that drowns out the rest and the bass is out of control, even during quieter sets. Last night, my boyfriend and I arrived at 5:45 for an early show (doors at 6:00, opening band on at 6:30), planning to grab some of the happy hour $1 tacos and $3 pink babys before the show. Given the early time, it wasn't surprising that the place was fairly empty. When we tried to get a table, however, we stood around waiting for ten minutes before somebody told us to wait in the next room. After that, it was another ten minutes before somebody told us the server hadn't arrived yet and to order at the bar. Usually, I would cut them some slack for being slow on service, but by then the place had been opened for an hour. The server arrived just as we were about to order at the bar and she seated us promptly, but then left again before taking our order. The rest of our meal continued this way, with the server disappearing for long stretches and our meal taking far too long to prepare. You would think that a concert venue would try to give a little faster service, given that most of the people would probably be trying to catch the show in the back. The food itself was pretty tasty, but the lack of detail on the menu left us wondering what exactly was in our tacos. The pastor seemed more like a shredded pork than a true pastor (still well flavored in its own right, but not al pastor by any stretch), but the sauces more than made up for it.They're pretty tiny but still a good deal given the happy hour prices. Went to Baby 's All Right to attend Freedom Party's "Brunch Event" before.... When I first walked into this place it was very crowded, the brunch event was in full swing and the dj was playing fantastic music. I was originally told that it was going to take 30 minutes to be seated at a table. However, we soon found out that there were others on line in front of us that were waiting longer including a party of 4 that had been there for almost 2 hours! We were able to talk to a Manager that sat us down about 30 minutes after walking into the restaurant ....the only thing was that they stopped the brunch service and were going to start the early dinner service! Due to us being disappointed in missing out on the "Baby's All Right" brunch experience, the Manager was so kind that he told us that whatever we ordered would be on the house! Very cool live music venue a block from Peter Luger Steak House. Convenient to any bus that terminates at the Williamsburg Bridge Plaza depot. Unfortunate that there are no bathrooms on the main floor, and that the one in the basement (2 urinals, 1 toilet) is too small to serve the 200 men upstairs. Bartenders are wildly inconsistent from one to the next. One drink -- generous (price-appropriate). The next -- stingy to the point of being offensive. Also: price fluctuations from one to the next. The bossa nova music between bands is...cute, but honestly, between the bands on stage tonight and the crowd which came to see them, it got old quick. Like 2.5 songs quick. As I finished that sentence the great Tom Tom Club song came on, which gets high marks. Perhaps the NSA was relaying my review to them as I wrote... Nope. They blew it by following that up with a Hot Chocolate song. Come to think of it, leading into garage/punk act Broncho, neither of those are appropriate. And now disco? Boo. Hiss. Time and a place for everything. This is not the time or place for any of these between-band records. Still, bands sound great and it's a fine place to see music. Came in 145 and was told a wait for two is 30-40 minutes. Returned after 35 mins after walking around and i was told that it would be another 15 minutes while larger parties who came after us were seated right in front of us. That is not acceptable. Why take our names if you weren't planning on seating us after the wait time we were told?! Then 15 minutes later we still were not seated. The waiter expressed how it was first come first serve but as a worker they should definitely know how long it typically takes before making up a wait time. 30 minutes of waiting for a second time and still not seated. Now this is actually ridiculous. He offers us the option to eat at the bar at this point(315pm, mind you they close at 4pm) but where was this offer before when we walked in the first time or even the second time?! We drove all the way to this place from LONG ISLAND to have brunch and it was such a disappointment. Never again, don't waste your time. I don't think I've ever had a worse experience. For many years, I've been coming to Baby's for all sorts of reasons but on my most recent visit, I experienced horrendous service that may keep me from going back. I went on a Sunday with a group of friends (some of them visiting) for brunch. Those of us who lived in the neighborhood were certain we'd have no problem getting seated and spoke highly of the food. Upon our arrival, we saw a HUGE line waiting to be seated, which in hindsight should have been a red flag. We were told a table would be ready for us "soon." We waited about 30 mins and some in our party became restless. Eventually it was our turn to be seated, and we were brought to our table without ample amount of seating for our entire party -- we were missing two chairs. Another table was also missing chairs... the waitstaff was running around looking for chairs for about 10 mins before two individuals from our party left because they had been standing for about 40-45 mins at this point. The waitress was not very apologetic. When she came to take our drink order and we were obviously frazzled by a portion of our group leaving and asked she come back, she disappeared again for 20 mins...we asked multiple times to place a drink order before it actually happened (and witnessed our waitress take a shot at the bar). Getting food was another unnecessary obstacle. After we placed our food order, our table was neglected; no one returned to check in on us and it wasn't until the service industry individual at my table brought up drink comps privately to our group did they offer any sort of "on the house" gesture of good faith. It was a passive aggressively placed basket of donut holes. The food came out. My sunny side egg was hard and the food was tepid. I told the waitress I was disappointed given how long we had waited and once again, she was barely apologetic but did offer to buy our table a round of drinks, even though no one was drinking. This brunch was anything but relaxing. We were there for over 2 hours from start to finish. I understand you're the pinnacle establishment of hipster hell, but your waitstaff is not too cool to do their jobs correctly. If you're not prepared to seat a table, don't. Then perhaps you won't have a forgotten table of hungry individuals disgruntled by your total lack of service. read more

Thankfully, there is a FINALLY a Williamsburg bar that serves food on par with its drinks. Along with a great classic margarita, I tried a number of food items: - Bibimbap, + chicken, + avocado - Broiled salmon - Kimchi fried rice - Grilled chinese brocolli -- the standout...who would have thought the veggies at a bar would be my favorite dish?! - Korean hot wings - KF cauliflower Highly recommend ordering and eating family style so you can try as much as possible. The ambiance is low-key, even though it's an event space, so you can definitely catch up with friends without having to scream over anyone. The photos on yelp really don't do it justice. I went on a Wednesday evening and it was surprisingly empty, so don't feel intimidated if, like me, you generally steer clear of rah-rah scenes. I went on Saturday, and in the one bathroom, there were 4 stalls: 1 was out of order, two had doors that didn't close, and the last one had NO DOOR AT ALL. It wasn't a urinal, just a freestanding toilet that people were using because options were limited. For such a big space where people are drinking, that is beyond disgusting. I don't often do a boozy brunch as 1) I'm a lightweight and 2) it often means I'm in bed by 6pm HOWEVER, my mum was in NYC and it was her birthday so I thought what better then boozy start to the day?
