My friend and I came here for brunch last weekend and it didn't disappoint. Yes, it's in the Hudson Yards area, so not super appealing location wise, but the restaurant itself is beautiful. We were seated right away and our server was so kind and attentive. My friend ordered the espresso martini which she really enjoyed and I got one of their NA drinks, which I found very refreshing. For food, I ordered the everything brunch borek which was delicious and came with smoked salmon and dill. My friend ordered the smoked salmon baked eggs and a side of the Brussels sprouts and she liked everything as well. I would definitely come back here again to try their dinner menu or just to come for a drink if in the area!
5/5 Stars -- An absolute gem in Manhattan West! If you are looking for an incredible spot to bring a group of friends, Zou Zou is it. The ambiance is vibrant and chic, the crowd is great, and the overall vibe is just unmatched. Highlights: The Food: Exceptional across the board. We ordered the brussels sprouts (which were out of this world and cooked to perfection), the branzino fish, and crafted drinks. The flavors are phenomenal. The Service: The staff went above and beyond. A special shout-out to the incredible waitstaff and the attentive water service person who constantly kept our glasses filled--such a thoughtful touch. Our waiter was also exceptionally kind and welcoming. The Ambiance: Gorgeous decor with a warm, upscale energy that makes for a fantastic night out. Tips for future diners: Reservations are a must: Make sure to book ahead, especially if you are eyeing the gorgeous booths (note that the booths are designed to comfortably seat groups of up to 8 people). Family-style dining: While we didn't order it this time, they do offer a leg of the lamb that feeds 8, making it a stellar option for larger gatherings. I'll definitely be returning with more friends. Highly recommended!
Zou Zou's located near Hudson Yards is a Mediterranean style restaurant . Without a doubt this is a beautifully done restaurant with its wood decor, high ceilings and attractive bar. The food was decent. The burger has a nice texture with the sesame bun. You can order the fired cheese melt which is like a mini fondue. Service was fine. However, this restaurant is mind numbingly expensive (I guess you have to pay for the decor). What I did not like was they charged $7 for each iced tea and did not bother to tell you the refill was extra so it was $21 for three teas - completely unacceptable even by NYC standards.
Came here with my mom and sister for brunch on Sunday and enjoyed the sticky toffee dessert and latkas! Great presentation and ambiance. Believe it's just the lamb that is halal.
So corporate so chic so fun. Great for a large party. I loved their appetizers the most - all the dips were so flavorful and fun, and the salad was insane. I wasn't as big of a fan of the main dishes (chicken& cabbage & fish) nor their desserts, but I filled up on appetizers anyways. They make a mean margarita and offered us several complementary dishes to accommodate allergies which was so kind! I'll be back for a happy hour & appetizers with the girls again soon.
I went to Zou Zou's for an early weekday dinner after work. Service was fantastic. Our waiter walked us through the menu and answered all of our questions in great detail. He gave great recommendations and was helpful in determining how much we needed to order for our party of 2 to share. The yellowtail was fresh and light and the latkes were delicious. The STAR of the show was the Fattoush salad. I ended up taking home the leftovers and it made for the most amazing lunch the next day! I would return for that salad alone! The desserts were not my cup of tea but my sister loves and still raves about the lemon frozen yogurt. Great spot for a light meal or sharing some appetizers!
The interior of Zou Zou's is absolutely gorgeous. However, everything else about Zou Zou's is lackluster. The food is just fine and extremely overpriced. The one item that I enjoyed from our order was the Mezze Mediterranean platter. The outdoor seating didn't have enough heaters, so it was super cold and very difficult to flag down someone to take our order. We left feeling disappointed and hungry.
Mixed feelings towards Zou Zou's. Having dined at most of Quality Group's restaurants, we had high hopes for Zou Zou's and booked a table for dinner on Easter. Walking in, it's a stunning restaurant and on this night, not too crowded which made us wonder why they would seat us next to the servers station away from dozens of much nicer tables. Note that I booked through Open Table where I have Gold status which I thought meant you get a better table. Next fail, we wanted to start with a Mediterranean dip, but they only offer that if you go with a $39 tray with multiple dips. Not something a party of two would be able to east, so we skipped apps altogether. Sucks too, because several tables had it and it liked amazing, just too much for two. For dinner I had the Yemeni Au Police Kebab, Filet Mignon which was absolutely delicious. The peppercorn Hawaii really sweetened the meat's flavor. So high marks for the steak. My wife had two small dishes which she wasn't as thrilled with, Grilled Artichokes which were too dry for her liking and Manti, which she liked. Main takeaways. Very pricey, beautiful atmosphere (if you get a nice table) and maybe a place that's better for a group than a couple.
My friends and I had reservations here on a Sunday for brunch. We arrived about an hour after they had opened but half an hour early for our reservations. There were only a few tables seated so they were able to seat us early. Let me just say that by the time we paid the bill and got up to leave the place was packed! The first thing you'll notice is the beautiful space and decor. They've done such a great job. You don't feel piled on top of the other diners and you can take in the beautiful interior designs while actually having pleasant converstations with your tablemates. The next thing that will capture your attention, if you're like me, is the menu. I love reading menus and the descriptions of the dishes. I was so intrigued by the creativity that I was looking up different things like "green tahini" and taking pictures of the menu and sending family members text messages about various items like the manti. I even felt compelled to look up the original chefs who helped open this place and wasn't surprised to learn about chefs Juliana Latif and Madeline Sperling (especially chef Latif's Lebanse and Jordanian background). The staff were friendly and attentive, the restrooms were clean and spacious, the food was good, the ambience was perfect. I absolutely loved this place. It was my favorite place we dined throughout our trip. I wish we could have gone back over and over to keep trying more items.
We went here right before a concert, we ordered the prefix menu "chef's selection" $79 per person. All food was amazing, my favorite dish was the filet mignon. Service was great and the place is really warming and cute.
A weekend brunch out at this fantastic restaurant and I was thoroughly impressed! The dip tower was a highlight, with each dipping choice being delicious; the squash option was my favorite. The cheesecake surprised us with its generous size and rich flavor, making it a fun sharing experience. The service staff were friendly and took the time to explain each dipping sauce, adding a personal touch. The modern, chill ambiance makes it perfect for any occasion. Overall, a delightful spot that I highly recommend for great food and a relaxed atmosphere!
We were fortunate and got last minute reservations and had a great food experience. My only complaint that our waiter was seldom available and someone else had to step in at times but she was quite lovely! We had the chefs special which is served family style and almost every dish was wonderful. My only complaints would be the side of citrus rice (which no one found appealing, too much orange zest and the pineapple dessert which was underwhelming. The dip tower, brussels, tuna, filet and branzino were spectacular. Give it 4.5/5!
Came for an early dinner on a Saturday and found this gem tucked away near MSG. The service was phenomenal- all the staff were kind. Our bartender gave us great recommendations on what to order and made great conversation with us. We got 3 things to share for 2 people and confirmed it was definitely a lot. We did the dip sampler which is a must - all the dips were delicious and it came with a side of both bread and vegetables. this in my opinion is a must order its very filling and great for sharing plus the dips were so good we also got a beef patty and pork chops which were cooked to perfection and equally as good. definitely a lot to share between 2 people but was very much so enjoyed beautiful and spacious inside 10/10 would recommend and return
How have I not reviewed Zou Zou's? It's one of my favorite places. High points: Decor- it's beautiful Service- every time I've been there it's been outstanding. I brought a friend with a specific allergy and everyone involved in service was aware and assured us that dishes didn't contain the offending nuts. Food- I live for their branzino. The duck borek is amazing. My friend who rarely eats meat proclaimed the filet on the skewer as the best steak she's ever had. The cheesecake is phenomenal. I really recommend the chef's menu. You get a sample of everything served family style and at $79 a person, it's a deal considering that if you ordered appetizers, an entree and dessert you'd pay much more than that in any restaurant in Manhattan. I've done that twice and still ended up taking food home. Drink prices are in line with mid-town Manhattan but $12 for a bottle of San Pellegrino is a little excessive. I'd be okay with $8 or $9 but I guess a few bucks in the grand scheme of things is not the end of the world. I've been there a few times and I'll note that I had reservations on a busy Thursday and was seated outside (which was lovely) but then it started raining hard and they were so helpful and gracious in finding us a place to squeeze in on the inside. Really top notch service. I'll also note that I brought a friend from Seattle and her husband is an architect for restaurants and she was wowed by the entire experience, which made me feel great! read more
We all know that New York is home to so many great restaurants, yet I can confidently say that Zou Zou's is one of the best. They have a lovely rooftop bar while you wait for a table. Then, when it was finally time to be seated in the dining room, I was so pleased with the upscale, romantic interior. Our server for that night was Ferdian, who was so attentive and had real class service. We made the reservation with OpenTable for 12 and ended up with 13 people. I love that the staff was so accommodating with the last-minute request We did the pre-fixed menu to make things easier. Everything was delicious from the beginning to the end. They were also able to accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free restrictions among those wonderful meals. My favorites were the dips, branzino, and hamachi. duck borek, and the desserts! The grilled pineapple was out of this world. Simple dish with complex flavors. The crunchy cheese cake was delicious too. I had the Road to Jericho cocktail, and it was yummy. read more
I came here with a large group so got to sample a lot of new things. - the kasseri cheese comes with a focaccia that has a pleasant sweetness to it - fattoush is probably going to be my go-to salad here with a moderate vinaigrette and candied pecans to balance the cabbage - the rice was good but didn't think it was so memorable; same with the roasted chicken which was tender and juicy and suited for a healthy meal - the Yemeni steak was my favorite thing here so far; the green sauce has a sweetness that complements the meat well and it's actually cooked medium rare - Moroccan fried chicken was just fine; came with a sour cream like sauce (perhaps for latkes?) and a sweet fruit compote that was good but besides a kick to the breading, this was some regular chicken - the charred broccoli is savory with a kick from the cashew harissa - Latkes were good and hot, but nothing too memorable Desserts: chocolate tart was good enough, the lemon froyo was actually even better, and the toffee pudding was too much cinnamon cake rather than decadent sticky pudding for my preference. Overall, I like the vegetables dishes a lot more here and I know what I like now, but not very interested in trying more things. read more

Overall, I'd give this place 3 stars. The highlight was the hot cheese appetizer--they actually light it on fire, and it comes with warm bread that was really good (4/5). The branzino was pretty mediocre and had a bitter taste, which I think came from the grill. I even asked for lemon to help cut the taste, but it didn't really change much (2.5/5). For dessert, the baklava crème brûlée was decent, not too sweet, and the hint of Pistachio was excellent. It was a fun place to try, but I don't think I'd come back to explore more dishes. read more

Let's start with the ambiance and service since that made the biggest impact.. For starters I wouldn't really classify this spot as Mediterranean new American. There is a distinct spice pallet that is more Israeli and middle eastern. Lots of outdoor seating but no heaters. I know it just got cool but if you have that amount of seating outside you would like there would be heaters. The service was pretty terrible. For a table of 2 we were there for about 2 hours. There was one waitress for the entire outside table section and plenty of bussers and people delivering food but our table never got cleared. Drinks that were empty before appetizers remained on the table until dinner arrived. Appetizers were never cleared by the time they arrived with our dinner plates so there was no place to put the food down and he couldn't get anyone to help. We ended up having to stack plates ourselves on the table next to us that had left. That table remained until cleared for about 20 minutes. It was just messy, unorganized and felt very not attentive especially given the amount of people. The food was decent but not worth the price. We were a table of two and opted for the $75 chefs menu. Honestly it's way too much food for two people and honestly wouldn't recommend it, even though it's a good deal. The standouts we had were the fattoush, manti, Bronzino and the rice. The fattoush is super fresh and flavorful. People rave about the dips and truly they are just dips. Nothing crazy outrageous to me... The Bronzino is very simply done but filleted and grilled to perfection. Overall, the some of the dishes were good but coupled with the poor service I likely won't return on recommend to others. read more
This is not typically a place that I usually dined at, however I wanted to use up my Chase credit from Infatuation and this was one their list. The place itself is super vibey and super lively even on a 8 pm on a Monday!! I think it is commonly used for work dinners - solid place for groups (a lot of the people there were actually in a large group or it seemed like they were there for a work dinner). It is super spacious with both outdoor and indoor seating. The severs were extremely friendly and nice - they gave great recommendations for food and cocktails especially if it was your first time there. Some of the cocktails can be made into mocktails which was really nice. The menu was not huge but a lot of the dishes sounded really good: -Octopus Carpaccio: So fresh and yummy, very light -Tuna Tartare: another solid dish, very light and fresh and a great starter. Highly recommend -Whole Lobster Kebab: This was alright - they pretty much come on a "sword" and it's pieces of lobster on cabbage. The lobster was a little on the tough side. -Brussels Sprouts: Really cannot go wrong with Brussel sprouts -Roasted Sweet Potato: This was another dish that was really good, highly recommend. It is a bit on the heavier end so something to be aware of but great for sharing. Overall - solid food and great vibes. Recommend checking out and make sure to make a reservation because they are very busy here. read more
Beautiful, lively modern Mediterranean restaurant. Cozy and lively environment and beautifully decorated. The staff was very attentive but our waitress Ewa was amazing. She was knowledgeable and checked in on us frequently. Food was delicious - our fav was the yellowtail. It was so good that we ordered 2 plates. After looking around for a dinner reservation for 5-6 people, all of our local favorites were booked up. We anticipated to find the same at Zou Zou's, but were pleasantly surprised to find an opening at prime time on Thursday evening. Our table was ready upon arrival and we were greeted by the friendly hosts and seated promptly. Our server was attentive, paid close attention to any table allergies and intolerances, and our waters were kept full and our plates served and cleared by the team as needed. Of our group, the majority of us got the Field Trip cocktail, made with mezcal, mint, and cucumber, along with the herbal liqueur Genepy, and a salt and pepper syrup, which was enjoyable. For appetizers, we ordered their take on a fattoush salad with red cabbage and pita crisps, their potato latkes which were perfectly crispy and came with 4, and their dips tower which included several varieties along with pita bread and crudité. For entrees, we got the lobster skewer, the filet mignon au poivre skewer, the Moroccan fried chicken for two, and the duck borek. The portions on the mains were sizeable, and everything was delicious - but for me, the favorite was easily the filet mignon skewer... and I don't usually eat red meat. It's such a beautiful space, too, feels very upscale / and is adjacent (attached) to the Pendry Hotel. The entrance is in the Manhattan West plaza right by Whole Foods and across from Daily Provisions,...not necessarily street side. Zou Zou's has become one of our favorite splurge meals and our second visit was just as good, if not even better than our first. read more

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food offerings in Hudson Yards. This is the type of place that you can go with just about anybody you can bring a friend family in town that's visiting go on a date. The ambience itself is stunning. The restaurant has some of those beautiful decorations and vibe that you can find in the city. In terms of food, things are well portioned and well priced for what they are. You will have an elevated experience so expect that price tag to go with it. The service is pretty standard in New York City careful attentive, but nothing so stand out overall I would recommend coming back, especially if you have one of those crowds where you're not really sure exactly where to bring someone this might be the place Make a reservation if you can or check out the bar upstairs as well. read more

Zouzou is an experience! The ambiance and attention to detail is the first thing you notice as you walk in, and then you start looking at the food being served and cooked and you are wowed by both! We went without a reservation on a Monday night and got a seat at the bar right away. The service was prompt and good! We tried some wine and a signature drink both of which were amazing. We got the dip tower, and everything was so good. The big thick homemade pita was amazing! We also got the grilled artichoke and it was by far the best artichoke I've ever had! It was definitely pricey, but certainly worth the price for an amazing experience with great food and beverages. read more
I've only been here one time before and loved the vibe of this place. This time around, I sat at the bar and ordered some delicious appetizers. I got the tuna tartare with cucumbers, beets and feta and the French fries. The food was so good and my bartender was super nice. Love this place and can't wait to come back. read more

Went to Zou Zou's for a little bday celebration with gfs and had a great time. Not to mention, there was such a sweet little bday care when we got to the table. So thoughtful, and such a great touch to start the evening for us. We decided to order the family style menu and we enjoyed the whole dinner. All of the dishes on the menu were really good and great price for $74pp. I wish we had a 4th in our party so we couldve had the duck, but we'll definitely be returning to do so. The dips were so good and so fresh! I think all of the dishes were perfectly seasoned. I get sad when dishes are overly seasoned or overly salty. Oh, and im not much of a sweet tooth, but their dessert was marvelous and the sweetness was balanced so nicely. read more
I really wanted to like Zou Zou's, but it fell flat. The dip trio had good flavor, but the crudités were wilted. Both crisps served on the side tasted off, almost sour. The pineapple dessert was overly tart and just not enjoyable. Service was surprisingly lackluster, especially considering the place was nearly empty. No sense of warmth or attention. The space is beautiful, but the food and service didn't measure up. read more
I'll start by admitting I am a Steak and potato lover. I'll seek out the best steak house in town so this was really a one off for me. The take away is it's important to step out of your comfort zone as each dish was amazing and different from the next! It is the flavor combinations this establishment has developed that makes it truly stand out. The restaurant is as expected for a 5 star, just beautiful. The lighting is dim, seating comfortable and the back ground music just right. Our server was, "Amelie" and notch, period! She didn't hover and didn't need to as there was an army of people looking over the tables. Your glass does not get below half full. We completely over did it with food but I can honestly say there was nothing I did not like. Started with my normal Hendricks Martini, no Blue Cheese olives but it was mixed perfectly. Moved on to the appetizers: Started with the Yellow Tail and Oysters. The Yellow tail was served with a Clear sauce (not Soy) but very good, The Oysters came prepped with their mixture of Horseradish and hot sauces. It was a perfect mixture and the oysters amazing. DIP tower: It is served with fresh vegetable to dip as well as a Flat Bread. All of the dips were excellent but the one off I loved was the "Green Tahini". I was told it has Avocado I believe as well as many other flavors but just blew my mind with flavor. Hot Kasseri Cheese: This is served Flaming! Just a really nice cheese you spread on your bread. Wonderful. Salads: Tried a few and can't honestly remember: Golden Beets was again something I would not have ordered but it was so full of flavor. Fattoush was again something that was shockingly outstanding! Main Course: Had the Filet Kabob, Lamb Chops and fresh Salmon. The Filet was as expected just on a skewer but the Lamb was out of this world. Full of flavor and not buried in any sauce to cover up poor cooking. Just amazing... The Salmon! If I had to pick one this this is it. I am from the Pacific northwest and love Salmon. I wait all year for Copper River and always buy as much as I can of the King so I do know a bit about Salmon. I have have eaten Salmon from Anchorage Alaska to Seattle. This was Arguably the BEST salmon I have ever had! Again not covered in heavy sauce just a nice filet cooked to absolute perfection! It was so moist and delicate I am still shocked! Sides we had the Brussel Sprouts and Wadi Rum Jeweled Rice. Sprouts were cooked perfect and I wish we had more. The rice was a lot and after this meal might have been the one thing we didn't devour. Desert: Kataifi Cheesecake and a chocolate dish. The Cheese cake is something I have never experienced. It's not tradition. The inside is heavy and soft at the same time kinda combined and extremely rich! It looks amazing and seems everyone was getting it but not my thing. I'm more traditional I guess. The chocolate dish (Can't recall its name) was as expected... If you are in the area and want to treat your senses to a five star dining experience you have to try this out! I came here for dinner one evening with a group of friends and it was a good spot to have some Mediterranean food! Located near Hudson yards, this spot is located near the shopping area and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Service here is kind and attentive. We ordered their dip tower, grilled branzino, Mediterranean fried chicken, steak, and a side of brussel sprouts (along with some drinks). The dip tower, although delicious was more of a plate than a tower. Nonetheless, the dips were delicious and was paired with veggies and soft, fluffy bread. Their grilled branzino was a bit underwhelming and didn't stand out. Their fried chicken was also alright and a huge portion (note: it is for two). And, the steak was delicious but definitely cooked on the more rare side (when we asked for medium rare). The total came out to be ~$530 for 5 people, which we thought was a bit expensive considering the quality of the food that we got. Overall, not a bad spot but you could definitely find more affordable, and delicious Mediterranean food in NYC. read more

Unreal! Celebrated my birthday here last night and I honestly can't stop thinking about it. Service was great. Love the vibe. The food is incredible, like wow Go with the Chef's (pre fixed) Menu - trust me, you will not be disappointed. Eveerryythingggg is amazing. Lovely presentation down to the little dill places on the sauce. The portions are full on- we had plenty of leftovers. The only thing I was not a fan of was the cocktail menu as I'm not big on prebatched drinks, but it's not a deal breaker. I've been telling everyone about Zou Zou's. My partner and I can't wait to come back! Oh! I'll also add that I LOVE when places do small intentional things when you are celebrating a birthday. Thank you! read more

We had a great experience dining at Zou Zou's in Hudson Yards. Our group sat outside, where the ambiance was lively and stylish -- perfect for a relaxed evening with a bit of buzz. Service was a standout: attentive, warm, and impressively knowledgeable. To start, we ordered the Dip Tower, beet salad, and fattoush salad. The Dip Tower is a must -- beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The salads were fresh and well-prepared, though the combination of ingredients in the beet salad felt a bit unconventional. For our main, we shared the whole fish. It was generous in size and paired with tomato and oil accompaniments, which helped elevate the somewhat mild flavor of the fish itself. On the side, we had rice (very well done), sweet potato (a bit bland), and broccoli (a touch too spicy and saucy for our taste). We kept it simple with drinks -- just sparkling water and an espresso. The total came to over $300 with a 20% tip, which felt a bit steep given we only had one entrée and no cocktails or wine. That said, the overall experience -- from the setting to the service -- was memorable. Despite a few uneven notes in the food, I'd definitely return and look forward to trying more of the menu. read more

Business casual. I saw one man wearing a suit jacket. All else were wearing a sweater or button down shirt.

Is the meat here halal?
Every time I look on Resy, I see availability around 7-8 PM, but never around 5 PM which is when I'm looking to dine there. It seems strange because usually 7 or 8 is more popular. Anyone know why this is? Do they not take reservations that early?
They do take reservations in open table, also the busiest time of this restaurant is from 5pm to 8:00 pm guessing because all the offices nearby come after work ;)
