After a full day of wandering the city with friends, we stopped by Bourbon and Branch for a drink before heading to the train station to go home. We sat at the bar upstairs and it was pretty empty. It was nice having the place to ourselves. The cool thing is that they have happy hour on Sundays. Therefore, that is what I went with. I got the margarita off the happy hour menu. Eventually, one margarita turned into two. Our bartender was nice. I didn't try any food here, but I'd love to come back. As a person who loves bourbon and whiskey, I'd like to come back and try some of their bourbon based cocktails. Bourbon and Branch seems like a really cool spot and it's not far from Penn Station. I'll definitely keep it in mind next time I hit the city. read more

Visited on my way to see Lady Gaga at MSG, and this was the perfect spot! The interior is gorgeous with lots of gold and has a very mid-century modern feel that I absolutely love. The staff was very welcoming and just as excited as all the fans headed to the concert, who clearly made up the majority of the patrons. They offered custom cocktails themed for the concert, including my favorite, "Wine With A Smile"--a drink Lady Gaga herself loves, built on red wine, diet coke, and maraschino cherries. They also had a wonderful espresso martini, a bacon & fig old fashioned, and made a solid dirty martini. The slider stack was absolutely delicious and so filling that it ended up being the only food option we got. I will certainly be back when attending any event at MSG in the future! read more

Truly impressed with this nice, big spot that's a stones throw from MSG and Penn. I loved how the upstairs got so much natural light. The service was super helpful, brought us an extra chair. There was a hockey game so this place was hopping and loud in the bar area. Plus there was a DJ, The acoustics are not so good so probably not a first date place on the first floor. Regardless, service was attentive and quick. And drinks came quick. We had reservations and came a little earlier but they were able to seat us. I made a reservation at Bourbon and Branch knowing it would be a busy night because of the knicks playoff game. I specifically requested a table with a tv nearby. They were able to accommodate which was great. They gave us a table that was big enough to fit the group too. We were seated upstairs and there was a large private event happening. It was pretty loud for the first hour or two, but it quieted down after a few hours once the group left. One thing that kept frustrating me during the Knicks game was the sound. They had the sound on, but kept switching between game audio and music. Commit to a sound! We visited during happy hour so we got a few drinks. I ordered the summer sangria and I enjoyed it. Foodwise it was a bit of a hit or miss. I ordered the turkey burger that came with fries and didn't like it. The arugula and jam combo was a miss. I'd skip it next time. My friends ordered the fried risotto ball and avocado hummus both were interesting. The hummus had a bit of a kick. Combination wasnt anything that I ever had before. Overall a mixed experience. Walked in out of the scorching sun with 30 minutes to kill before I board the train. Greeted by a refreshing hostess and air conditioning I chose to sit at the bar. It was fully stocked in the retro modern decor. The bartender immediately sat a glass of cold water in front of me to my relief. I ordered red snapper fish tacos to go and a tequila sunrise. No more than 15 minutes later the order arrived and I left. It was on the train when I decided to peak at my order and to my dismay, I had 3 tiny tacos and an empty container for ??? Immediately disappointed I began to taste one and to my surprise it was a very tasty taco by itself. Girl dinner, girl dinner! This place is the perfect spot to grab a bite with the girls or coworkers after a long week. The food is consistently good in taste and freshness. I always grab the ahi tuna wrap, and it hits the spot every time. My friends ordered the red snapper tacos, which should have honestly come with a side of fries, and the chicken wings, which would be better if there were more dipping sauce options. Their drinks are good, and happy hour is until 7pm (not including N/A drinks). We did have a little blip about our reserved tables being set aside for another party, but that was sorted out quickly. What an amazing restaurant and just a few steps away from Penn Station, super convenient! My girlfriends and I came here for an early dinner one Sunday. The place is absolutely beautiful and we had a nice view from the second floor. Brunch was just about finished so we only got to skim the menu before receiving dinner menus. At quick glance, I would likely come back for brunch. This desire was certainly reinforced once I got to taste my app and entree. I had an order of wings and a salad with fries. Yes, I finished it all and yes I was extremely hungry. Anyway, the wings had an excellent crunch and were seasoned well. The salad was flavorful, and I enjoyed the citrus notes of the blood orange. I do think if it was cut smaller or differently it would've had a greater impact on each bite of the salad. The salmon was cooked very nicely and also had excellent flavor. I can definitely see myself coming back here. My only hope is that the service will improve as it was occasionally slow, although the place was not crowded at all. We stopped there for a quick dinner before departure from NYC. It is a sport bar atmosphere at the ground floor with high tables and regular restaurant salon an 2nd. Came here solo and sat at the upstairs bar pre MSG. Immediately upon sitting the bartender came up to me super friendly and explaining the menu and specials. I had a specialty margarita called Antidote tonight for Lady Gaga (went before her show). It was mixed really well, tequila tasted high grade and the overall flavor was a good ratio of sweet and spice. The beef sliders were average and truffle fries were good. The over atmosphere of the bar was a mix of tourists and pre show goers making for some fun conversation. The upstairs windows had great views of MSG and all the lights and signs around. The food was pretty good, the service not so much. I was sat in the front, it was very cold and nothing to offset the wind. I didn't mind because I agreed to sit there. Didn't know how cold the front would actually be. I was fine until I realized how inattentive the waiter was and I was pretty turned off. The waiter went to another table to hang out with a girl over 6x as I waited to order a second drink and pay the bill. I already had to ask someone to get him previously. I saw the waiter bounce from watching tv and talking to another patron multiple times and eventually someone took it upon themselves to assist me. The front tables looked a bit more inviting as they are by a window, but the back was dark / not very warm ambiance (may be better in the evening!) Our server was great! In such a short distance from Penn Station made it the perfect location to hide during a storm. The ambiance was stunning with a retro decor style setup. We got there around 12, so they were still serving brunch. I got a Bloody Mary and their Prosciutto Flatbread and both were very tasty. The bloody mary had bit of a smokey taste in my opinion, which I thought was pretty unique. I usually order them spicy and it had slices of jalapeños in it. Both dishes were average. The BLT was slim not many fillings and the fries were luke warm and wilted. The Benedict had little amounts of brisket and the hollandaise was typical. We each ordered one prosecco $17 each, and one coctail $18, the spritz and summer sangria.
