Walked in out of the scorching sun with 30 minutes to kill before I board the train. Greeted by a refreshing hostess and air conditioning I chose to sit at the bar. It was fully stocked in the retro modern decor. The bartender immediately sat a glass of cold water in front of me to my relief. I ordered red snapper fish tacos to go and a tequila sunrise. No more than 15 minutes later the order arrived and I left. It was on the train when I decided to peak at my order and to my dismay, I had 3 tiny tacos and an empty container for ??? Immediately disappointed I began to taste one and to my surprise it was a very tasty taco by itself. One star lost for the missing ingredient that probably would've made it a spectacular taco.

Girl dinner, girl dinner! This place is the perfect spot to grab a bite with the girls or coworkers after a long week. The food is consistently good in taste and freshness. I always grab the ahi tuna wrap, and it hits the spot every time. My friends ordered the red snapper tacos, which should have honestly come with a side of fries, and the chicken wings, which would be better if there were more dipping sauce options. Their drinks are good, and happy hour is until 7pm (not including N/A drinks). We did have a little blip about our reserved tables being set aside for another party, but that was sorted out quickly. Overall it's a nice spot where the food actually tastes good!

1st the positives: Excellent service from Brenna K - she was very helpful and efficient and has a great attitude Positive- the soft shell crab sandwich was excellent and the chicken wrap was very good. Kudos on the French fries and tender Mussels in a spicy tomato bisque with crostini bread for dipping Negatives: entrees arrived at the table less than 10 minutes after we had started the mussels appetizer. Negatives: the music is super loud and most of it was disco which hardly suits a gastro pub. It made it impossible to hold a conversation at normal volume. Negatives- no heat and felt like the air conditioning was on and blowing

We stopped there for a quick dinner before departure from NYC. It is a sport bar atmosphere at the ground floor with high tables and regular restaurant salon an 2nd. Extremely attentive waiter welcomed us in ( helped with luggage) We had good margaritas on happy hour price, tasty crispy calamari, really flavorful truffle fries , crispy wings and B&B burger. The menu doesn't have a great variety of choices, but it can please different tastes. Was really good choice for us as a last stop in NYC. Will visit again and suggest to friends!

Good food, good service, worked with our large group to get us seated quickly! Glad we were sharing things as the portions were huge!

What an amazing restaurant and just a few steps away from Penn Station, super convenient! My girlfriends and I came here for an early dinner one Sunday. The place is absolutely beautiful and we had a nice view from the second floor. Brunch was just about finished so we only got to skim the menu before receiving dinner menus. At quick glance, I would likely come back for brunch. This desire was certainly reinforced once I got to taste my app and entree. I had an order of wings and a salad with fries. Yes, I finished it all and yes I was extremely hungry. Anyway, the wings had an excellent crunch and were seasoned well. The salad was flavorful, and I enjoyed the citrus notes of the blood orange. I do think if it was cut smaller or differently it would've had a greater impact on each bite of the salad. The salmon was cooked very nicely and also had excellent flavor. I can definitely see myself coming back here. My only hope is that the service will improve as it was occasionally slow, although the place was not crowded at all. We also encountered multiple servers as they had shift changes and breaks during our time.

Popping into NYC for a play and I needed a place near the theatre. Love the ambiance. High ceilings. Holiday decor but even without it, it's upscale bar vibes. The music was poppin and staff personable and attentive. I sat at the bar. Both bartenders acknowledged me. I asked for a menu but knew exactly what I needed and I was short on time. I promptly placed my order Slider Stack and Woodchuck Pineapple Cider. My time was dwindling down so I asked for my order to be go. It wasn't caught in time and was delivered to me. I was able to gawk and nibble on it before I packed it up to go. The sliders were cooked as I ordered - medium well, juicy and the fries tender and crispy. I loved the cider.

Just across the street from Madison Square Garden sits a bourbon bar you wouldn't expect to find in the middle of energetic NYC. Bourbon and Branch brings a touch of Southern refinement to all the city buzz. This place is a vibe with two bars, one on each floor. We chose to head upstairs for a better view of the city. My eyes brightened when I found the turquoise bar and mustard-colored stools. It struck me as warm, stylish, and inviting. See my short video! My husband came for the bourbon, and the selection did not disappoint. I, on the other hand, was perfectly happy with my mid-afternoon iced tea. We stopped in on a quiet weekday afternoon, and the sparse crowd made it an ideal place to relax. As someone who always appreciates a clean restroom, I was pleasantly surprised; I took it as a sign Bourbon and Branch is thoughtfully maintained. You can easily tell this spot transforms into a lively, packed space on event nights at MSG. Food is served as well in case you want to settle in for a drink or grab a bite before a show. Elevator available if you're not able to take the stairs.

If you are looking for a spot near Penn Station, Bourbon and Branch might be just what you need. In an area where quality bars and restaurants can be hard to find, this place really stands out. We stopped by during the week for some midday cocktails and had an amazing time. The aesthetic is great and the service was excellent.

I've been here before Knicks game, after Yankee games and after a Knicks playoff win. The vibe is always electric. The bartenders are always super friendly. We've had the food before it's good, they're great with buy backs. We got wasted a few times here. Especially last night. LFG KNICKS!

I love Bourbon and Branch! They do not disappoint. We came here last weekend for my brother's birthday and the service was awesome. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. For our appetizers, we had the Philly Cheesesteak Spring Rolls and Buffalo Wings. Everything was well prepared. For my entree, I had the Slider Stack which comes with beef sliders and potato wedges. I enjoyed my meal and shared some with my brother and sister. We were celebrating my brother's birthday. We went for brunch and there was a DJ playing nice music. We enjoyed ourselves and we'll definitely be returning.,

Great location and close to MSG, huge place with 2 large levels and high ceilings. It can get a bit loud depending on what event is being hosted, however still a great place for well made American food. Really enjoyed the chicken burger- super juicy and fresh. Truffle fries were incredible.

The food was pretty good, the service not so much. I was sat in the front, it was very cold and nothing to offset the wind. I didn't mind because I agreed to sit there. Didn't know how cold the front would actually be. I was fine until I realized how inattentive the waiter was and I was pretty turned off. The waiter went to another table to hang out with a girl over 6x as I waited to order a second drink and pay the bill. I already had to ask someone to get him previously. I saw the waiter bounce from watching tv and talking to another patron multiple times and eventually someone took it upon themselves to assist me. I do recommend stopping here if you're near Penn station but sit at the bar. Service was very subpar and felt disrespectful. The food does come out quickly and the music was good. One of their bathrooms didn't lock and the toilet was clogged.

Is this a family friendly restaurant?

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

From the outside it didn't look like much but after passing through the two sets of glass doors... It's packed. And lively. And (really) loud. And it was only a Tuesday night?! (How are all of these people living so high on the hog, without a care in the world?!) We were escorted off to a little tucked-away enclave near the back, but the restaurant was just too boisterous and we had to shout just to talk to people at the other end of the table. We got our menus and there was a bit of 'sticker shock' on my part, I can't lie. "We're in NYC, what did you expect?" - the Mrs. whispered when she saw my eyes go wide. But $38 for chicken parm? (Which is what I went with after seeing it had its own little "parm-fection" hype on the menu.) And $36 for the Branzino (which consisted of one fillet on a small bed of wilted spinach)? Our table dabbled all over the place and for the most part everyone really enjoyed their meals. The food they're knocking out is legit, for sure. But the bill came out to over $60 a person (including the tip, but we didn't have apps or dessert and half of us just had water), which hurts when you're a cheap-o like myself. Our waitress was awesome (and she didn't even seem fazed when I tried to rattle her that we were going to split the check onto nine different credit cards... but we only used one). And Bryant Park (right across the street) was the perfect nightcap on a lovely spring evening.
