Visited on my way to see Lady Gaga at MSG, and this was the perfect spot! The interior is gorgeous with lots of gold and has a very mid-century modern feel that I absolutely love. The staff was very welcoming and just as excited as all the fans headed to the concert, who clearly made up the majority of the patrons. They offered custom cocktails themed for the concert, including my favorite, "Wine With A Smile"--a drink Lady Gaga herself loves, built on red wine, diet coke, and maraschino cherries. They also had a wonderful espresso martini, a bacon & fig old fashioned, and made a solid dirty martini. I made a reservation at Bourbon and Branch knowing it would be a busy night because of the knicks playoff game. I specifically requested a table with a tv nearby. They were able to accommodate which was great. They gave us a table that was big enough to fit the group too. We were seated upstairs and there was a large private event happening. It was pretty loud for the first hour or two, but it quieted down after a few hours once the group left. One thing that kept frustrating me during the Knicks game was the sound. They had the sound on, but kept switching between game audio and music. Commit to a sound! We visited during happy hour so we got a few drinks. I ordered the summer sangria and I enjoyed it. Foodwise it was a bit of a hit or miss. I ordered the turkey burger that came with fries and didn't like it. The arugula and jam combo was a miss. I'd skip it next time. Walked in out of the scorching sun with 30 minutes to kill before I board the train. Greeted by a refreshing hostess and air conditioning I chose to sit at the bar. It was fully stocked in the retro modern decor. The bartender immediately sat a glass of cold water in front of me to my relief. I ordered red snapper fish tacos to go and a tequila sunrise. No more than 15 minutes later the order arrived and I left. It was on the train when I decided to peak at my order and to my dismay, I had 3 tiny tacos and an empty container for ??? Immediately disappointed I began to taste one and to my surprise it was a very tasty taco by itself. Girl dinner, girl dinner! This place is the perfect spot to grab a bite with the girls or coworkers after a long week. The food is consistently good in taste and freshness. I always grab the ahi tuna wrap, and it hits the spot every time. My friends ordered the red snapper tacos, which should have honestly come with a side of fries, and the chicken wings, which would be better if there were more dipping sauce options. Their drinks are good, and happy hour is until 7pm (not including N/A drinks). We did have a little blip about our reserved tables being set aside for another party, but that was sorted out quickly. What an amazing restaurant and just a few steps away from Penn Station, super convenient! My girlfriends and I came here for an early dinner one Sunday. The place is absolutely beautiful and we had a nice view from the second floor. Brunch was just about finished so we only got to skim the menu before receiving dinner menus. At quick glance, I would likely come back for brunch. This desire was certainly reinforced once I got to taste my app and entree. I had an order of wings and a salad with fries. Yes, I finished it all and yes I was extremely hungry. Anyway, the wings had an excellent crunch and were seasoned well. The salad was flavorful, and I enjoyed the citrus notes of the blood orange. I do think if it was cut smaller or differently it would've had a greater impact on each bite of the salad. The salmon was cooked very nicely and also had excellent flavor. I can definitely see myself coming back here. My only hope is that the service will improve as it was occasionally slow, although the place was not crowded at all. Came here solo and sat at the upstairs bar pre MSG. Immediately upon sitting the bartender came up to me super friendly and explaining the menu and specials. I had a specialty margarita called Antidote tonight for Lady Gaga (went before her show). It was mixed really well, tequila tasted high grade and the overall flavor was a good ratio of sweet and spice. The beef sliders were average and truffle fries were good. My friend and I walked in for lunch without a reservation and were sat immediately in the back of the restaurant. The front tables looked a bit more inviting as they are by a window, but the back was dark / not very warm ambiance (may be better in the evening!) Our server was great! I really love this place. My coworker brought us here for lunch and I'm so glad she did. The place has two floors and it looks beautiful. Even the lighting had an art feel to it. We were seated on the second floor. The service was awesome: from the hostess to the waitress, they really make you feel welcome. I ordered the sliders with potato wedges and cheese sauce. In such a short distance from Penn Station made it the perfect location to hide during a storm. The ambiance was stunning with a retro decor style setup. We got there around 12, so they were still serving brunch. I got a Bloody Mary and their Prosciutto Flatbread and both were very tasty. Located a stone's throw away from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station, Bourbon and Branch is my new favorite after work or pre-MSG event location. First and foremost, it's not your typical NYC bar that is overly cramped to where you'll be shoulder to shoulder with everyone without room to breathe. It's a 2-floor setup which allows for ample space for patrons and even during a busy rush hour, you won't feel confined or restricted to a small section. The atmosphere is energetic and upbeat without getting too loud to where you can't have a proper conversation. My favorite cocktail on the menu is the "Concrete Jungle" - Tequila, Campari, Pineapple, Lime, Honey and a Lemon Twist. Perfectly balanced and never too sweet despite the additions of pineapple and honey. While I'm not the biggest Espresso Martini fan, they do make a damn good one featuring Stoli Vanilla, Kahlua, Mr. Black Espresso and Chocolate Bitters. Highly recommend both! Food wise (unfortunately not pictured), their Croque Monsieur Spring Rolls are quite delicious. The bechamel sauce coupled with the honey mustard offer a sweet and savory element to pair with the saltiness of the ham. My favorite food item on the menu is the French Onion Soup Burger. It was packed when we came in but still got a table for two quickly. It's a lively, younger crowd. Unfortunately, it was so loud my friend and I couldn't speak to each other throughout most the meal. I tried their non-alcoholic Rutti Tutti Fruitti and it was delicious, sweet & tangy. The ceviche is SO close to being good- but it needs way more lime & salt. I dumped a ton of salt into it and it helped tremendously. The turkey burger was basic, my friend said it was okay but a little dry. The Shrimp Tempura Tacos are a crime- no sauce, exceptionally dry and bland, and for 3 small tacos it comes to $22.00. I just picked the shrimp out and ate it. The service started out good, no issues with orders, but it took an exceptionally long time for food and drinks to come out. I asked for a second drink at the beginning of the entrees and didn't receive it until well after the meal was over. We told our waiter we wanted the check, then never saw him again. All the other tables, made up of big groups, have left. I have to leave my table to approach one of the many waiters who continued to walk past us, clearly ready to leave. He says he will bring us our check, great. I go back to the table and we put our jackets on and prepare to leave. He never brings it. I'm watching him walk back & forth in front of us until I finally go to the bartender and ask if we can just leave at this point. He tells the second waiter, the one I asked previously, and gets our check. I can't make heads or tails of this. We were waiting to pay for almost 40 minutes. TLDR; Lackluster food, good drinks, horrendous service. Fashionably modern interior but very loud. Would not return. read more

Attended a Baruch Alumni - a private event here and totally enjoyed the atmosphere. The space is incredibly spacious with a huge bar and big screens hanging around.
