Please do not ignore the bad reviews. Everything you read is true. I have known Dr. d for a long time and had 2 surgeries with him. I did a rhinoplasty which he botched and I needed to have it redone. Of course dr. D denied any responsibility but I had a hole in my septum following his rhinoplasty which caused me breathing problems and I had fixed by Sam linn at beth Israel. I also had lipo w a bbl done by dr. D. I can admit that came out good but what I can say is he was highly inappropriate and antagonist towards me when I was at the hospital the day of my surgery. First I had not really wanted a bbl. He suggested I do it and he didn't charge me much additional because he wanted to do it (he was trying to make a name for himself with this specific procedure). I wanted lipo for my disproportionate thighs. So the day of my surgery he brings in a magazine and is showing me pictures of J LO and saying he's going to make my butt really big. Which wasn't what I wanted. He also made a comment to my mother asking her "what they call a lower back tattoo?" Because I have one. Referencing a tramp stamp trying to antagonize me and my mom who drive me bc I was having surgery. So incredibly inappropriate! With both of these surgeries I can tell you everything you read is true. His success rate is about 50%. So you have a 50/50 chance of having a good or bad outcome. In my opinion, you are better off elsewhere. I can also tell you yes he will be non responsive if you have a bad outcome, deny responsibility etc. He will be hours late to all of his appointments with you. I never was seen on time and on average was always about 2 hours late... once it was clear he was out shopping with his girlfriend and just left me waiting for my follow up. Do not be impressed that he is on newbury street! He can pay the rent. That is the only prerequisite to being able to have a business on newbury street. Please do not go here. I wanted to make sure I was seeing a surgeon that knew what he was doing, had good results and from the pictures I found on Del Vecchio's website I thought that he would be the right fit for me. I read countless reviews, both positive and negative trying to ignore the negative ones. I wish I didn't and I wish I listened to them. I got a rhinoplasty by him in Oct 2018. Being on Newbury St, I expected a high level of service. From the moment walking in, the ladies at the reception weren't the friendliest. Del Vecchio himself lacked the bedside manner that I was used to. We sat in a small dark room where he took photos of my nose. He then morphed my nose into what we both had desired and thought was achievable. My nose was more complicated because it didn't have a lot of heigh to it. That was a concern I told him. The photos speak for themselves. As you can see immediately post op, my nose was incredibly upturned. Fast forward to 2021 - 3 years later and the swelling has finally subsided and it has revealed all the imperfections and irregularities created by him. You can see my nose has dropped significantly because he did not build up enough support. It almost looks like an indent was created. A piece of cartilage was also visible at 1 month post op, which I told him was a concern because I could feel and see it. He just brushed it off and said it was cartilage and it's what's holding up the nose. At my 6 month post op the indent was starting to become visible and I told him I was not happy. He gave me the option to get filler. I did not want to do that because I wanted a permanent result. This cartilage piece, now at almost 3 years post op is incredibly visible and looks as if it's about to pierce through my skin. It's embarrassing. I've called the office, left voicemails, sent emails and have gotten no response from the doctor or anyone working there. I had no choice but to get a revision rhinoplasty from another surgeon. I would never let him touch my face again. He seems too busy doing BBLs at this point. Whatever you do- don't go here. read more

I could not be more thrilled with my results. From the initial consultation to the procedure everything went smoothly . The Doctor is knowledgeable and confident. Dr. Daniel Del Vecchio should be your #1 and only choice for elective cosmetic surgery procedures. When I read the negative comments on various sites, the first thing that comes to mind is ME. Immediately after my procedure, I started to panic. Then I started to realize everything was normal. As bad and as rough as it seemed for the first week or so, it was all normal. I thought I was having all types of issues. Yes, Dr. Del Vecchio is busy but no he did not neglect my aftercare considering the COVID19 circumstances. I did not want to go for an in person follow up because of COVID19 and I'm glad they actually insisted on virtual follow ups with him. I have text him numerous times ( I was probably being a pain in the ass, literally lol) but he responded to me right after he was out of the Operating Room at times and on his way to wherever he was headed to next. I got the live, real Dr. Del Vecchio. I was not speaking with a robot via email or incompetent people via text message as many practices, especially in Miami do. Dr. Del Vecchio, exceeded my expectations. I became very emotional once all my fluids started to go down and I began to see some real results. Recovery is no joke, but I would absolutely do it all over again with him knowing and experiencing first hand, the art and amazing outcome. I am only 2 months post-op and let me tell you. I fit clothing I have had for several years hoping to one day fit it. I am down many pounds. I have curves. I look and feel feminine (mom of 5 right here yall) and I cannot even begin to talk about the other topics this procedure with him has intensified and supported in a positive way! I am forever thankful for Dr. Del Vecchio. I am planning to return to him for a second procedure in the Winter time!!!! I am so excited! Let's no forget his Staff. If you care about what type of person your doctor is, you'll want to read on. Surgery of any kind should be carefully considered and it seemed that Dr. Daniel Del Vecchio had a good reputation online. I'm not totally sure why because the behavior that he displayed in my initial consultation was so unprofessional that I can't imagine going back. The front office staff was friendly and courteous when I arrived. They were clearly having some IT issues that were causing a lot of stress for everyone. His two office staff members were clearly working as hard as they could to resolve the problem, but he could only treat them with such disrespect that I couldn't even look him. He actually referred to one of them as "Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum" - right in front of me! It was awkward and totally uncomfortable - especially given how obviously decent and lovely his staff had been the entire time. I never got a chance to consult with Dr. Delvecchio. I was looking forward to doing so, hopefully in the near future. It's been a very rough couple years and I'm wearing the stress all over me. I figure it'll be a nice gift to myself to kind of freshen up and remove some of the outward appearance of all that stress. So I've been following him on realself for about a year, and recently started following him on Instagram. But today he deleted me from his Instagram account because another user asked him how to find out if he was a member of the plastic surgeory board, and I told the user they could easily look him up by name and gave them the website. BOOM! I'm kicked off his page. LOL WOW! That's just a little messed up! I noticed there were a lot of negative comments on his instagram, (I also noticed he deleted those today too before I was banished), but I hadn't consulted with him yet so I wasn't putting too much stock into those comments just yet. On another post I even told others not to let those comments discourage them from consulting with him. Oh well, maybe I dodged a bullet here! I have know Dr D for 20 years on a personal level. He has been a dear friend and when I needed one the most he was there for me and I will never forget it. Let me start off by saying that I never post reviews but this Doctor definitely deserves it. I had liposuction done by him and he exceeded my expectations. So much so that I have referred many of my clients to him. My body has made a complete transformation. Dr. Del Vecchio is very honest and to the point. I first had a consultation in 2018 but didn't decide to get the procedure until this year. My only regret is not doing it sooner. His new staff is very attentive and helpful. If I could give zero stars for this review I would. Let me give you a short run down of the past two hours of my afternoon. I arrived at Dr. Delvecchio's office at 3:25 for my 3:30 appointment. I was told to sit and wait, and nothing else. Turns out Dr. D was running VERY behind schedule today, however the receptionist didn't feel the need to tell me that before I sat down. At 4:15 I asked the receptionist how much longer the wait would be, and she said I was second in line and it would be 10 or 15 minutes longer. As 5:00 rolled around I noticed two other girls had been called before me. I went up to see what the issue was, and the receptionist told me my appointment was for 4:00pm and the girl who had been called in before me had a 3:30 appointment. Now this is laughable considering it's clear that they changed my appointment time after I got there to try and save themselves from getting in trouble. What makes it funnier is that I have a voicemail from Dr. D's office this morning confirming my 3:30 appointment from Giovannica, the same lady who told me my 4:00 appointment was no mistake. Moral of the story- I'd think twice before booking an appointment at Dr. Delvecchios office. They clearly have reception and booking issues, and to make matters worse are extremely inconsiderate. If you're going to make your NEW patients wait two hours, at least give them the courtesy to let them know. Maybe offer them a water or something? This review does not reflect my opinion on Dr. D- as I've only heard good things about his work. He's lost my business due to reception issues alone. It's clear that he already knows this is an issue, as I heard him getting down on the receptionist for overbooking. I have known Dr. Del Vecchio for over 50 years from the time we were both children and know him in a broader context than few outside of his immediate family do. I truly understand, knowing Dr. Del Vecchio as I do, why there would be those who would interpret some of his comments as insensitive and at times unprofessional. He has a very unusual sense of humor and can come across as short-tempered and cruel at times. But his staff is well-aware of his style and that he may at times be a bit rough on them. Dan sets high standards for himself as well as his staff and believes strongly that each staff member is highly-capable at what they do and he expects perfection, particularly when patients' health and even their lives depend upon a perfectly-functioning office. Yes, he is occasionally rough on his staff and sometimes those moments are unintentionally observed by patients. What's not observed is the apologies that come from Dr. Del Vecchio after such an event and the degree of his generosity and support of each staff member he has on a regular basis. I'm certain that he would acknowledge that he could do a better job at being more sensitive to his staff, particularly when patients are nearby. While, generally-speaking, there should be no excuse for a doctor as accomplished as Dr. Del Vecchio to speak unkindly to his staff, his primary role is to be the best plastic surgeon. I'm sure he welcomes your comments, particularly in this Yelp format, as a wake-up call to be more cognizant of how he interacts with his staff and, for that matter, anyone else he comes in contact with. I felt compelled to share my long-term friendship with Dr. Del Vecchio in an attempt to shed some light on the more sensitive side of him that one ordinarily does not observe at his office. I hope anyone who feels as "Melissa W." does and might observe the good doctor lashing-out would be comfortable enough to pull him aside and remind him to be a bit more compassionate and to re-examine his unusual sense of humor as being a bit tough. Dr. Daniel A. Delvecchio is the best of the best. I have had many many cosmetic surgeries with many many surgeons all around the world and so I have the experience to say he is the best. I have been to 2 of his offices, the one in NYC & Boston. They're gorgeous & clean. To have a great doctor he must not only be experienced but intelligent & confident. Dr. D is so confident in his work & I love that. There is nothing more reassuring than knowing when you wake up you're going to get the results you want. I read somewhere that he humiliates women? His entire office staff is women. I personally have sent SIX of my own friends and family to him as well & they have ALL been elated with their results. Anyone who speaks negatively on his name or practice is not only ignorant but they're giving inaccurate information. If they don't have good results it's how their own personal body is reacting and not how his technique. I know for a fact that Dr. D travels all around the world to learn new things & is beyond informed with the latest & greatest techniques. When I did my surgery with him, he gave me his cell # & was available to me 24/7 with anything I needed. Other doctors I've used have passed me onto their assistants but he helped me himself. I can only speak for myself but the other 6 people that I have sent to him have their own judge of character and opinions-they have been nothing less than thrilled. this man, who was suppose to be the person to help boost my morale and self esteem did nothing shy of almost kill me. he was unresponsive, lacked the knowledge of infections and silently tried to play it off, the hospital i went to after the surgery stated he was negligent in practice. i acquired over 6 different infections which in-turn required me to have a surgery wash out to clear infections (twice), blood transfusions, i went into kidney failure because of the highly aggressive antibiotics they needed to put me on due to the gram negative and gram positive infections, i spent almost 1 month in the hospital and have been left permanently disfigured after paying him $10,000 for the devastation he put me through. my hope is that other women will step forward and contact the attorney general office and also the massachusetts board of medicine 781-876-8200. i would love the women who have been mutilated to step forward and email me brittanyalexis978@outlook.com so we can put an end to treatment he subjects vulnerable women to. read more

We all have to agree plastic surgery is something that is very frightening I am sure that we all have heard horror story. Story of People that go into surgeries in come out looking worst than ever before. My experiences with Doctor Daniel Delvecchio did not even get to the stage of even having surgery and I am grateful that it did not get their. It all starter with my first visit to the office when he walk in the door he entered the examination room and showed no type of manners. When I reach out my hands to greet him he walk passed me and just took my field case, I felt like such a subject not a patient. A good doctor takes time to listen to what their client has for goals and expectation. Any time I would express myself on what I wanted and expected he would dismissed my opinion, almost talking down to me instead of consulting on what was possible. Things were his way or the highway that was how I felt. My procedure was a breast augmentation using fat injection. In this process I needed to use a breast extender 2 weeks prior to my surgery, for about 6 to 8 hours at a time. I never mind this because I knew that this was part of the process. I did not mind sacrificing the swelling of my breast, the extreme back pain that I was getting or even the bad skin marks cause by the suction of the extenders because I knew it was part of the process. What I hated was that after 2 long weeks of following procedure, when I went back to see Dr Delvecchio he talked down to me. Telling me that I was not putting the extenders on. He started saying that he was going to give up my operation day to someone else's can you believe that?, how unprofessional, how rude, how disrespected I felt. I had been referred to dr Delvecchio by a friend who had great results. I had an augmentation done after I had my baby. After they healed they were still droopy, which is what I wanted fixed. I had to go back in for surgery for a lift which he was supposed to do the first time he went in. I am now healed and am very disappointed in my results. All the money I spent and my breasts are still droopy a little bit and have no upper fullness. I have always dreamed of wearing low cut shirts and I cannot wear them even after spending $11,000. I moved to the suburbs of Boston recently during my first winter I decided I wanted to get a jump start on my spring and summer body so I started looking into plastic surgeons around the area I found one who specialized on exactly what I wanted which is hard to come by. When the day came I didn't really know what to expect iv never experienced a doctors office right in the city when I got there I loved it the front office was so helpful and kind and then when I met doctor delveccio I loved his up beat and happy personality and trendy attire! I appreciated doctor Delveccios honest opinion on what he thought was best for me he talked me out of my original thought of what I wanted because of the possibilities of future issues and explained my best options I really thought that showed a lot of who he is as a doctor because the procedure I went with cost alot less then the 2 procedures I wanted originally. When leaving my consultation I was so please I put the money down for my surgery and made the appointment right then and there. Two weeks later was surgery day we had a crazy blizzard coming the night before doctor delveccio was so kind he called me the day before and had me set up to stay the night at the hospital where id be getting my surgery just in case the roads were closed down due to heavy snow fall. The next morning we talked before surgery he made me feel very relaxed and confident next thing I know I'm waking up and I have my new body he came to see how I was doing before heading to his next surgery and even called my Fiancr to tell him How it went. Basically, my post care was terrible. I traveled for this procedure and many do, and once he was paid and I left town, I was forgotten about. When I had questions or issues, it was like pulling teeth to get help and for him to respond. He is always "busy" as his staff says. I went to this surgeon to have a tummy tuck and lipo, when I consulted with him he was friendly and said he could fulfill my epectations with no problem at all, even though I've had 2 kids I wasn't big or anything it was mostly exta skin and love handles I wanted to take care of. He wanted to do fat grafting to the breast which I declined, I went there for tummy tuck not that when I scheduled the surgery and went to the preop appointment he then insisted on doing fat grafting to my butt which again I declined, he gave me a good price for the tummy tuck and lipo 8,000. The day of the surgery he again insisted to have the fat transferred to my butt that it'll give me a better overall result, I then agreed, everything went fine I felt good after the surgery but I found it weird tht a surgery like this, tummy tuck, lipo, fat grafting to the butt, anf hernia repair only lasted like 2 and a half hours. Well I was super swollen when I finally could take care of myself I noticed my belly botton was horrible he didn't cut enough skin off so he didn't cut through the belly botton so ge just relocated it a little lower, I,didn't think tht was gonna b a problem untill all the swelling went away I have all the extra skin I had before surgery only relocaded lower than before I look horrible I hate how it came out, the only things I like from tge surgery was the butt and the lipo wasn't that bad,its not perfect but not bad. I am so mad that I spent 8,000$ in something I didn't even get good results on I am going to call his office tomorrow and see if he'll reimburse some of the money I already got,a second opinion and they have to redo the tummy tuck :(. So even though he has all the education, credits etc he doesn't know what he's doing and focuses on what he wants to do and not in what you go to surgery for. read more

My first impression of Dr. Delvecchio was when I entered his office- which was small & disorganized- not what I expected for a Newbury Street surgeon. I also noticed that Dr. DelVecchio comes out to get his own patients...how many "good" surgeons have to do that? I assumed like many I'm sure; that because he has an office on Newbury Street in Boston, that he must be an amazing surgeon. Well I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that he IS NOT an amazing surgeon and the location of the doctor's office means NOTHING. When I had my first consultation with Dr. DelVecchio he was very arrogant and short with me, I assumed that was because he was so good; well that was my first mistake. I ended up scheduling a breast augmentation with him for the following month. The surgery that morning- he was late, when he arrived he was very short and seemed angry. He actually asked me if I was "pissed off" which of course I was not, I was just quiet and nervous. He also had me sign consent/release forms AFTER they had given me heavily sedative drugs.....They took me into the operating room and he was on his cell phone while they were prepping me for surgery. It would have been nice to have him next to me while I was put to sleep. I woke up and Dr. Delvecchio never came in to tell me how surgery went. On the way home my fiancé said that Dr. Delveccio came in the waiting room looking for someone else, happen to see him and told him the surgery went great and how great I looked. Well on my way home, I looked at my breasts. To my horror I saw my implant on my chest wall, very high; and my skin/nipple was at the bottom. I called his office the next evening and his "assistant" Dawn called me back. I asked for Dr. DelVecchio to call me back and I told her what was going on- she said that Dr. Delvecchio was at a funeral and it was not a medical emergency, it was an "esthetic" issue. Dr. Delvecchio did end up returning my call and he told me that he was out purchasing a new ski jacket because he was going to Aspen. I felt completely lied too- why did Dawn lie to me? Why did she have to make me feel like my breasts with nipples and skin hanging wasn't an important enough issue for him to take the time to call me back? Dr. Delvecchio told me that I had sagging breasts to begin with and that the skin needed to tighten up- this was not what he told me in the beginning nor was it what he told my fiancé. He also started off the conversation with....."I wondered when you were going to call me". That obviously means he knew there was a problem and didn't call me first- he waited to see if he had to deal with me. Let me back up a little- when Dr. Delvecchio arrived at the hospital the morning of my surgery; he asked my fiancé where he was making the incision. He asked if it was going to be under the arm- why wouldn't he just check my chart? Did he forget? He was also doing a c-section scar revision- which I had to remind him of THE DAY OF SURGERY- he seemed very annoyed that he had to look at my c-section and mark it for surgery. I had three follow up appointments after my surgery- he was dismissive through all of them - until the second one where my fiancé urged me to go back in and demand some answers, so I did. He told me that he knew they didn't look good and for me to go home and not to tell anyone that he did my breast augmentation. He said that he wished he could take my bad boob job and give it to his X-wife....how professional was that? He acknowledged that the implant was riding high, the incisions were a mess, there was a huge gap between my breasts and that he would fix them in a few months when my body healed a little more by revising the pockets, fixing the incisions and placing some fat in my breast to take up the loose skin- he called that "the icing on the cake"- When I pointed out the infected incision; he asked me if I wanted a band aid, that was it! When I went to my last appointment with Dr. Delvecchio (which was just this week) he told me that since my implants had dropped he would not be fixing the pockets the incisions or adding fat. He took skin my the "underwire" and now I am left with one breast that has little droop at all and the other is very saggy because he did not take the skin off evenly. My left incision is red and swollen still months later and my right one is "folding in" on itself with skin hanging off the bottom. My breasts are uneven, scarred and horrible. Folks I cannot stress to you enough just how awful my experience was at Back Bay Surgery was. It doesn't matter how many positive comments he posts to make his practice seem professional and outstanding. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR PLEASE!!!!! He is rude, arrogant, abrasive, unfeeling, unprofessional and has the worst bedside manners!!! I can go on and on! I went to him to have Botox and juvederm done when I was visiting my sister- in-law. I should have went with my gut which told me to run but my sister-in - law had it done it she got lucky. I did not and ended up with lumps instead of smooth skin. One side of my face was noticeably different from the other. I called the office and was told the doctor said to come in and he would be able to fix it at no charge. I expressed that I was driving from New York and back in forth it would take me 9 hours. She told me the doctor is aware of that and I should come in and he would take care of me. That was not what he did!!! When I showed him my face with the lumps in one area and what looks like a skinny worn on my face in another area he became snippy. He said he did a good job and I shouldn't worry because it isn't permanent and it would be gone in a few months. He was rude and dismissive. My 19 year old daughter was with me, and she could not believe that a doctor would speak to a patient as he did with me. I have since been on many rating websites that have reviewed him and found that many have shared the same awful experience as mine. Others say he had disfigured them after having plastic surgery with him. He pushes fat injections and I am It's Justin going to the gym wanted if u guys wanted to come glad that I did not go forth with that surgery!! It could have been worse!!
