There was one person working the counter during lunch hour. Not a huge deal, but there were a few in front of us with more complicated orders. The inside is kind of like a generic cafeteria. Not a lot of decor and not very welcoming... just kind of odd. I got the hummus sandwich with pasta salad. The food was just kind of mid. The hummus was good, but the sandwich didn't have many veggies on it and the pasta salad was very bland. The restrooms here were also kind of grungy. Overall, it was just a very average place with odd vibes. Nothing particularly wrong with it, but I probably wouldn't return unless going with a group who wanted to try it. One good thing is that they do have plenty of vegetarian options and a gluten free menu (you have to inquire about that).

Pickin' Porch forces a mandatory 10% "staff tip" on all orders. Because you stand in line and pay at a counter before you are even tended to, they are essentially demanding a tip before providing any service. Sometimes you stand in line for longer than it takes to receive the food you're paying a 10% premium on. If a business needs to cover higher staff costs, they should just raise menu prices. Forcing a surprise surcharge at the register is a cheap tactic. Furthermore, didn't ask, but suspect one is likely required to pay this fee even if you're just getting food to-go. For a restaurant located inside a craft mall, playing these corporate "gotcha" fee games feels completely out of place in this wonderful spiritual community Branson has always been. Branson is a city built on genuine kindness... However, Pickin Porch Grill's compulsory 10% tipping fee billing practice is the exact opposite of the nature of Branson. Come for the food, but be prepared for a frustrating mandatory fee at the register.

Awesome food, I enjoy the ambiance; some of the wall decore doubles as sound "insulation" - just keeps the room from echoing.. delicious food, and great visit. I look forward to visiting more often!!

It is so delicious! The original is probably my favorite or the French dip with aujus. They have these new calzones that are huge and are the bread folded over into a sandwich. I had the French dip calzone and could only finish half. My husband and I could have shared it. It was so good! My husband got the bacon, Smokey cheesy sandwich. It's roast beef, cheddar and bacon. All of the sandwiches and salads I have tried are delicious! They have a free bar that has pickles, banana peppers, and jalapeños for toppings. It also has herbs and spices you can also use.
