After looking at it the technician informed me that the compressor was bad so it was time to buy a new refrigerator. It's rare but very much appreciated for someone to be up front and honest vs trying to sell unnecessary and existing dive repairs. The technician let me know that due to its age my refrigerator has went past its life expectancy and that it's not worth spending over $1,000 for a repair on such an old refrigerator. He even told me when I go looking for a new refrigerator what brands to stay away from as he has seen many of those brands require constant repairs. Can't say enough good things about Trusted Appliance except for their name truly says it all.

In June 2025 we searched for an oven repair project on Yelp. The oven was overheating and the door…read morewould lock as a result. Food inside would burn. Error codes appeared and were provided to Peter who responded timely. Over time Grant and Peter both came to our home and attempted to repair the oven. Both were cordial, on time, and left the place clean but neither seemed to have the knowledge or capacity to complete the job. First visit: Grant spent a considerable amount of time researching the error codes and how to proceed using his electronic device (phone or tablet). He replaced a small part and the oven worked a few times then the problem reoccurred. We requested a more experienced tech come out and the owner (I believe) Peter came out. During that second visit Peter suggested rebuilding the motherboard. After months of waiting we received a text that the motherboard had come in. Peter reinstalled the motherboard on the third visit. During our Thanksgiving meal preparation on Thanksgiving Day the problem reoccurred. We called and sent a text in desperation - advising our ham was in the oven. We didn't hear back. We received a text message on 12/1/25, stating they were closed for the holidays, and asking if we were able to get our oven fixed? During the fourth visit Peter didn't know what else to do, and offered to install a new oven or refund the amount of the service call. He sent a quote for over $2100 for a new (low end) Whirlpool wall oven (our current oven is a slide in) which included installation and haul away of the existing oven. I had done some research and determined that that price was greatly inflated so on 12/12/25 we accepted the offer for a refund for the service call of $477. We finally received the refund via Zelle on 1/14/26, after numerous follow up attempts in writing and by phone. Based on this experience it doesn't appear their skill levels go beyond maybe simple repairs or installations. Both Grant and Peter admitted that a lot of the work they do is for home warranty companies. The integrity however is a bit bothersome - the delayed refund, lack of communication pertaining to its status, a lie from the office staff stating an email was sent on 1/5/26 asking if we had Zelle, accepting a job they weren't equipped to complete, and not having on-call response for emergencies. Sorry I can't recommend at this time.

Called Scapelli Repair when my Frigidaire refrigerator stopped cooling…read more Chris came out and diagnosed a failed control board and a bad valve. Quoted me $700 in parts and labor. Told me he was ordering the part and that it would be in on Tuesday. Tuesday came. No call, no text, no part. I reached out and got nothing. I kept texting and eventually got a reply saying it would be another day. That day came and went with no contact either. I reached out again, and again after that. Then nothing at all. No answer to calls, no answer to texts, no explanation. My refrigerator sat dead in the kitchen the entire time. Two weeks of my family living out of a cooler and buying ice while I waited on a part I have no evidence was ever ordered. I finally gave up and hired another company. That technician found the actual problem in a couple of minutes: a refrigerant leak in the sealed system at the compressor. The control board was fine. He also pointed me to warranty coverage I didn't know existed, which is going to save me hundreds. The $700 repair I waited two weeks for was not the repair I needed. Also of note: the new tech said he just cleaned up a washing machine job Chris abandoned. He said Chris left parts all over the lady's house and said he'd be back, but never came back. The one thing that went right is that I never paid anything up front, so I lost two weeks and not my money. I'm not going to guess at why he went silent. Here is what happened. He took the job, gave me a date, missed it, gave me a second date, missed that one, and then stopped responding entirely. If you hire him, pay nothing in advance and get a firm commitment in writing before he leaves.

Then, they sent me another message saying a senior tech's schedule opened up and can come by right away. I asked to confirm if they indeed serve my area since they are located elsewhere. To my surprise, the rep responded "Hello, let me see if we have available techs in your area". I was confused since they told me someone is available. Then, I waited for 20 min and asked io confirm before I send my phone number and address. Total silence after that. Would you look at the requestor's zip code before telling people you service their area? If this is how to deal with scheduling, I would not let touch anything in my house even if it is free. Don't waste your time. Go with another company for your repairs.
