This was a first visit for me and found it to be a pretty decent choice for lunch. I opted for the daily special , which includes a half sandwich and a bowl of soup. That set me back $10. The sandwich was stuffed with ingredients and was pretty large for a 'half'. I had opted for the beer cheese soup which was very, very good. Even during the lunch rush and long lines, I received my to-go bag in short order. Parking in front is very odd, with driving on the sidewalk as the only way to get into the spots. First time coming here, instantly greeted by 3 smiling, friendly folks. The inside is small and cozy. The tables and chairs are patio furniture which isn't fancy at all for indoor dining but honestly who cares when it comes to having a sandwich right? The place is at least clean! I ordered the French dip with pepper jack since it was cold out and they whipped that up in 5 mins. Most of the time I can't taste the cheese on a French dip but I could taste the peppers so that was good! The sandwhich was hot and they wrapped the au jus container in saran wrap which was a nice touch for a to go order! This wasn't my favorite dip in town but it was simple and almost made me feel like a kid again with the quick and easy meals mom would whip up! I want to come back to try something else (no pun intended!). Overall I would rate the sandwich a 3 but the overall experience was a 4, it's not common to find great customer service where you feel at home these days so thank you guys for the experience! read more

This is the cheers of sandwich's places. Everyone seems to know everyone. Great menu, cool tunes, friendly staff. Love me some local sandwich shops. Easy parking if you come just before the noon lunch rush. Ordered the Santa Fe chicken on French roll. It's a hot sandwich with some great flavor. The pickled jalapeños are key to add that extra spice. Next time I'll probably get it on the focaccia toast they recommend since the French falls a part with all the amazing sauce. A little pricey, my sando with a side of jalapeños was $11, but food prices are high anyway. Looking forward to trying the chili next time and another sandwich! read more

This is one of my office's favorite places to order lunch from! I usually get the chicken Caesar salad because I love the croutons. You also get a crusty roll with your salad. If you order early enough in the day they will deliver to your office. I had my son w/me today & he got a small whole sandwich, which was still rather large for his little hands! This place makes its money delivering sammies to many offices in the Downtown Spokane area. If they didn't have that, they wouldn't be in business in my opinion. They are on the lower end of all the sandwich places in town. Quality is not very consistent. Some sandwiches had a ton of meat on them, and others not so much (mine, sadly). There were missing items on the sandwiches, as well. My Reuben came without swiss cheese. Say that out loud: no...swiss...on...a...Reuben. My daughter's build-your-own came without her requested tomatoes. It's a nuisance to have to go back up to the counter and ask for a couple slices of cheese and a portion of tomato. I sampled their 'Wisconsin Cheese' soup of the day, and almost laughed out loud, because it's the same powdered cheese mix that I get from a membership store that shall go nameless. Serving/charging for that is incredibly bush league, especially when it's essentially a corn starch festival with barely any cheese flavor. And while service is never too much of an issue with me, everybody in there probably needs to think about enrolling in Charm School... read more

Huge salad selection, great sandwiches, awesome soups, and the best carrot cake in town. I try to make this a stop at least every couple weeks. The decor isn't much, but the food and service is great! The daily special is 1/2 sandwich (changes daily) and a cup of soup or salad. This is enough for most. My personal favorite: salad bar - this is a huge plate consisting of a small scoop of a variety of noodle salads, marinated veggies, green salads, fruit, and whatever else shows up in the salad bar. read more

I've been coming here for years for lunch since my mom introduced me. The staff is really friendly and you can tell they build relationships with their regular customers. The Santa Fe chicken sandwich (chicken, chipotle sauce, tomato, guac, and cheese on a warm focaccia roll) is fantastic. I also like their chicken Cesar salad ($6.60 w/ roll). My mom loves the Maifun salad. They have rotating pasta/small salad bar that has never disappointed if you want to add a cup to any sandwich or salad. Yay! I finally found a sandwich place with fluffy bread I like! The owner couple are so friendly and nice too. I ordered daily special which is a half roast beef sandwich and a cup of soup. Something else has a great formula and they stick with it. The salad bar is one of the best, all the selections are made fresh daily, it's a fantastic value. I've tried most of the sandwiches but I usually return to the triple treat, 3 cheeses and three meats on your choice of bread. desserts are amazing as well. I travel to Spokane for work frequently and stopped here on a suggestion from a local colleague. It was a great experience and I will definitely be returning. The place was packed when I went which is usually a good sign and judging by the clientele it was mostly locals who frequent the place. The décor is a little odd but WELL worth the wait and stay for the food. I had the Santa Fe chicken sandwich which was phenomenal. Great seasoning and fresh focaccia bread. It wasn't too spicy but also not boring. They have a wide selection of sides to add to the sandwich. You can choose either chips, soup or from a surprisingly large selection of 'salads'. The salads range from pasta, vegetable or garden salads. I had the broccoli and it was excellent. The dressing was slightly sweet with raisins in it and wasn't overdressed like some salads can be. The service was very friendly and seems like it might be a family operation. With the number of combinations they have of sandwiches and salads it would be a great place for regular lunch stops. The price was more than reasonable and on the way out grabbed a butterscotch brownie for the road and it was the perfect afternoon snack. read more

The name says it all. I ordered a Taco Salad and what I received was Something else. My office placed a delivery order so I was unable to grab the deliver person and have them take it back. When I opened the container marked Taco Salad what I received was a regular salad (iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, olives, a load of sour cream, cheddar cheese and salad which I paid extra for). I was so hungry I decided to eat it anyway and have to say it was not good. Everyone else had similar experiences with their food: mediocre to poor. I called to order something for my employer and the woman who answered was very rude to me from the time I gave her the order, the name and then requested to verify the order was correct. If I had been ordering for myself I'd have said never mind and hung up. Rude, rude, rude. Wonderful food! But today I was reminded why I quit spending my money there. Horrible horrible customer service! I felt as if I was a burden on almost all of the employees there but the first cashier who took my order. The owner treated me as if I was a complete nuisance and the woman making a sandwich for me made a completely rude remark to me when I asked her a question! I will not ever spend money there again after being treated so poorly very disappointing considering it's a small local business that have wonderful food and is owned by a family which I would love to support but I will not if I'm going to be treated that way on a regular basis and history and talking to other people prove that that is how you get treated when you go there. read more

I haven't been able to walk into a deli to get a sandwich on GOOD gluten free bread ever in Spokane. Something Else Deli carries the best gluten free bread from a local bakery in town. So I love the fact I'm supporting two Spokane businesses when I order a sandwich from this shop.
