This is our favorite restaurant in Rathdrum. We eat here at least once a week. Everything is fresh. They make their bread themselves, with no preservatives. Their sandwiches are very filling so a half is plenty for one person. Salads are also on the large side And very healthy. They make different soups daily, which are quite yummy in the winter. Tip! Take advantage of their day old bread which is always on sale; that you can buy extremely reasonably and throw in your freezer. read more

I had never been to the Local Deli. This past week I ordered a sandwich platter, a catering salad and a catering potato salad for our Fantasy Football Draft. You know, there's no good sandwich place around here because no one can seem to use good deli meat. I'd thought I should try this place because everyone seems to love it. The service was great, people were awesome! Got the Turkey club, but it came with slimy chuck questionable meat. Couldn't tell if it was chicken or turkey, very spongey! It was probably worse meat than subway. We just spent $30 on to wraps that we couldn't even eat. Ps found a hair to top it off lol if you go here, I'd say stay with veggies only. Had the 1/2 french dip today. Was going to get some soup but chicken little did not sound all that special so I passed on soup. On to french dip. Roast beef with cheddar & provolone cheese on sourdough bread, heated, with au jus. For me, too much cheese. Also, no taste to bread. Would I order again. I would not. (personal preference). Had a sandwich at San Francisco Sourdough Eatery last week and you could really tell it was on sourdough bread. Had soup there as well (potato soup, loaded) and while good, a little too cheesy for me. Between the two sandwich shops, I have to give my nod to San Francisco Sourdough Eatery. At least once or twice a month we hit the deli but haven't ate in the restaurant since Covid. Before it was a fifty/fifty eat there or take it to go. Like the atmosphere and the staff is always great! They make a mean sandwich but, mist everything else is darn good, too! After Quiznos disappeared in my area. I Have been looking for somewhere to get my warm turkey, bacon guac sandwich fix. Finally found a place that satiated my craving+ some. I ordered The Local Club. Only bad thing I can say about my visit today was that my half sand was big enough for two, and it tasted so yummy that I ate it ALL and overstuffed myself. Definitely, recommend! This sandwich shop is decent. The customer area is neat and clean. Ladies behind the counter are friendly. The sandwiches are overpriced. I ordered a whole size ham, Swiss, tomato and avocado on sourdough and it was a $13 sandwich. I just moved here from Long Island/NYC and my local deli for the same sandwich (using boars head products) is $8.99...that's almost a 30% difference and I know it costs more to operate in the NYC area that in Rathdrum. That's the problem with no competition/choices, you can charge what you want for an average product and people can either pay what is charged or go without. They can say they use the highest ingredients, but who is to know unless your blown away with the taste and can actually taste the difference. They use more bread to make the sandwich look bigger but don't use as much money ingredients (meats, dairy, vegetables)? They make their own bread... well so does Subway and Jimmy Johns.... I can go there, double up on the meat and pay much less. I've spent $120 on a porterhouse, so it's not about affording to pay the extra money but I was blown away with the taste.... so the value was there for me. I just don't see the value in their product. Don't see myself coming here again. read more

Nothing super special, the food was pretty average tasting, more bread than meat and vegetables they put on there. Overpriced for what you're getting compared to other sandwich shops (Subway, Jimmy John's, etc.) that have lower prices for higher quality. I haven't had a bad experience yet. Their ingredients are fresh(real fresh not subway fresh). I can only handle half a sandwich. Which makes it affordable. We've been hitting up the deli in Rathdrum since the day it opened, which was no small feat at first. My son has Autism and he is not the easiest person to convince to try new things. He cannot have fast food so we were on a mission to find him something 'comparable'. He was hooked from his first wrap! He loves The Wallace and the fact that the girls will put it in a wrap for him.
