After adventuring at Holley Canal Falls, we stopped by Back Porch 585 Tavern for some grub. We've chosen to sit outside where we were served by a very kind waitress. Starting off with one of their house-made soups, the New England Clam Chowder was scrumptious. A nice thick and well-seasoned soup. For mains, I opted in for their Fish Fry which is offered every Friday and Saturday. I inquired whether the fish was fresh or frozen and was informed fresh. This was one of the best fish fries I've had anywhere. Crispy batter, and moist and flaky fish. For sides, I asked for coleslaw and mac salad. The coleslaw was nothing to write home about and I felt was a bit bland. As for the mac salad, one of the better mac salads I've had. Normally it tastes like the fridge, but this one was nicely seasoned. This restaurant took me by surprise and I'm glad to have stopped by and had one of the best fish fries ever. read more

The food is ok. The place is loud. As I was walking from the bathroom, a customer came in from the outside and whacked me in the shoulder with the door. The door had a curtain on it so neither of us knew we were there. I said some thing to the owner's sister about it. I recommended they lock the door so no one else got hurt . all I got was "I'm sorry" with a smile. No honey you're not. I will never go back there and I will tell everyone that can hear me not to as well. read more

This place is a hidden gem ! The food was amazing! My Beef on Wick was outstanding and the wings were very crispy and delicious! Our two previous experiences here were not favorable. However, we decided to try this place one more time. I am very glad that we did. We were seated quickly, our waitress was fantastic and the food was delicious. My hubby had the beef on wick and I had the Bbq chicken melt sandwich. We both picked tater tots as our side. The tater tots were crispy and our sandwiches were yummy. My only regret is that i couldn't finish mine and when i went to put my leftovers in the to-go box, i dumped it on the floor. i think the key takeaway for friday night dinner is to arrive early (5 ish). We were camping at Big Guys Campground and found this place sharing a parking lot with the campground. We had brought lots of food with us and had plenty of adult beverages in our coolers, but, we found ourselves at least a couple times a day rolling in to the back porch 585 for a drink or a snack. Drinks were delicious and the popcorn was free. Had chicken tenders, hand breaded, with homemade blue cheese, They were incredible. Amber and Summer were our bartenders and they were both incredible. I want to give it a 4. A lot of really good and some not so good. The space is open and inviting. The bar is well stocked and plenty of seating. The staff was friendly and greeted us quickly. We were seated quickly even though it was a busy night with the college graduation weekend. We ordered the Mac and cheese arancini and were very impressed they tasted fresh and the chipotle lime ranch was a perfect compliment. I ordered chicken tenders... not something I would normally do but "handmade" intrigued me. I was pleasantly surprised when they were very clearly homemade. Incredibly well seasoned fired to perfection. The side of Mac salad I got was great and the homemade buffalo hot sauce has a decent heat and didn't lack flavor. My wife ordered the sirloin and asked it prepared medium rare. When it came out there was no give to the steak and when cut into it was very much well done. My wife brought it to the attention of the waitress who agreed it was over cooked. She immediately took the steak back... awesome! Then the manager (and I believe owner) came out. Fully expecting a "hey sorry this wasn't cooked properly we have another one firing off" he looked both of us in the face and proceeded to tell us that's a medium rare steak. The double down of "oh so you want the steak rare" was a nice touch. The second steak came out and was more blue than it was medium rare. My wife did admit it was seasoned well and undercooked is better than over cooked. As we left the lasting image was the wait staff on their phones near the POS system and a couple with their vapes in their hand. Will we go back? Was excited to try a new place, beautiful night for music on a patio. We waited 1 hr 30 minutes for simple fish fries. Made our date night out not enjoyable. My partner had to go in to check on our order and I'm positive the order went in as he asked about it. Claimed kitchen was swamped, restaurant was dead. Spacious atmosphere with plenty of table options as well as a beautiful bar to sit at. The deck outback was busy so we stayed inside. Not from the area, we asked our waitress to recommend what is popular to eat and she was very friendly and helpful as we ordered the chicken tenders, beef on weck, mac salad adn cole slaw. Our drink order was brought quickly and our wait time for our food was within ten minutes. The chicken tenders were hand breaded, very crispy and the meat was so moist. They were the best tenders I have had in my entire life! I also liked the dipping sauces that they came with. The beef on weck was delicious as well. The side salads were a perfect compliment to the main food. My family and I went here for the first time after an after noon outing for an early dinner. It's right next to the campground which is convenient if you're out camping. Dont be fooled by the bar as soon as you walk in, theres another side with actual tables and chairs for a family to sit at. The menu they have is a decent size, and they have something for everyone.The waitress we had was wonderful, and very accommodating. Especially to our 2 year old who happened to accidentally spill her drink. We had a blooming onion appetizer which was really good. It was coated with seasoning​ nicely. Our meals were really good. The home made chicken tenders were very good along with the Ranch and mild sauce I ordered on the side. I'm not sure if they were home made but it tasted great.
