On my first visit, I ordered the Three Brothers Special, which lets you choose three different meats and two sides. I went with chicken, brisket, and ribs, and let me tell you--every bite was packed with smoky, tender, fall-off-the-bone goodness. It was the kind of meal that makes you sit back and appreciate great barbecue. Since that night, I've returned four or five more times. And here's the thing--I don't live in Brockport. I live in Pittsford, a solid 30-minute drive away. But when you find a place that not only serves amazing food but also makes you feel truly welcomed, it's worth the extra miles. Sue, my server on my first visit, made sure I felt at home, and the rest of the staff has continued that same welcoming energy every time I've returned. Not really sure what happened throughout the years but it didn't go good for the place. Came here with family from PA and we told them it was a great place for years, however tonight it wasn't. One member wanted Medium Rare steak and got Medium Well. Another wanted Medium and got Medium Rare. Someone else wanted mac salad and got mac&cheese. Someone got a burger and it was blackened! I ordered medium buffalo wings and the sauce didn't taste right at all. Same for the blue cheese/ranch/i don't even know because taste was so off! Plus wings were also overdone. 1hr wait time and I get they were busy - we were chatting during this time as well. Noise volume was ok and not really has changed throughout the years but definitely might need a new chef. Also saw the kitchen violations - should've checked the seating too. I have never seen a BBQ restaurant boil their brisket. This was my first time ordering from here, and after spending $71, nearly half of the food ended up in the trash. The ribs and chicken were okay, but the amount of BBQ sauce they put on everything was ridiculous. The "brisket" was sliced very thin and completely smothered in sauce, which felt like an attempt to cover up the flavor and texture of boiled meat rather than properly smoked brisket. Yuck!! Also the sides they serve with the meal are baby side! Very disappointing experience. I won't be ordering from here again. The only reason I give this to star is the ribs!! read more

I used to stay in LeRoy and go to the Smoking Eagle's they had great chicken wings there so after I moved to Byron I usually go to Brockport for things around the house while my wife was pregnant last year my in-laws suggested 58 Main Street so we go I automatically noticed the similarities of the decor to Smoking Eagles while being served I casually asked the waitress if the person who owns this place do they own Smoking Eagle's in LeRoy to my surprise it's the same person so I ordered the smoked fried grill wings which was amazing along with a few sides of macaroni cheese ,macaroni salad and coleslaw.The food was delicious and my wife and son was very happy as well so this is one of my favorite places to eat in the area hey I even went there this year for my birthday ,it's definitely a STAPLE of the Brockport region!! read more

Second time at 58 Main. My family and I take an annual trip up to Kendall every year for some salmon fishing and this isn't the first time at this restaurant, but I recall it being much better 2 years ago. This time I had ordered the Taste of 58 (comes with a pulled pork slider, brisket slider, 2 sides). This was probably the worst bbq I've ever had. The meat was super watery and just looked, tasted, and smelled old. The pulled pork smelled sour. 0/5 on the meat. For my sides I had the macaroni salad and bbq pork baked beans. The beans were good despite having the same pulled pork in them, I think the beans masked the bad pulled pork flavor. The macaroni salad was as to be expected. 3/5 for the sides. The wings were shared for an appetizer were good, the sweet and sour sauce we had on them actually tasted great! It was surprising the bbq that came after that was so disappointing. 4/5 for the wings. For a drink I had the 32oz Voodoo Juice rum bucket. Solid drink! If I were to come here for just drinks I'd give the place 4 or 5 stars. Something about a bbq joint having bad bbq is very disappointing and because of that I can't give this place more than 2 stars. If I were judging solely off the sliders I'd give it a 0. The service was a little slow but not awful. We did get drink refills and the server was pleasant to deal with. read more

Wish I could give no stars. Placed our order at 6:30 and by the time 7:25 rolled around with no food, no check ins from the server, we asked for our order to be boxed up to take home. I wish i had just cancelled the order all together. Both burgers that were ordered medium came out over well. I ordered the three brothers, the ribs were dry, the chicken was tough and rubbery, and the brisket looked and tasted like it had been boiled. The salt potato side order was literally boiled potatoes with a ton of salt dumped over them. Now mind you it was far from busy so there is not really any worthwhile excuse for the poor quality. I had issues in the past with food ordered here( NY strip that was just a sirloin in disguise, as well as the A1 that was whatever sauce they serve as "house sauce" that they put into an A1 bottle), I still chose to go here for Fathers day. Never again. Not sure why the quality of Food has fallen off so drastically, hopefully they can find a way to fix it. read more

The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was ok. We got the "Q for Two". It came with ribs, brisket, pulled pork and chicken with 2 sides, beans, Mac n cheese. We got 2 extra sides mashed potatoes and coleslaw. All the meat was dry which was disappointing, except the chicken. That was very tender. The beans and the mashed potatoes were good. On a visit home for the holidays, my dad decided he wanted some smoked meat/bbq and suggested we take a trip to this locally owned restaurant in the village of my college town for lunch. The place has a local "townie" vibe and had heard him speak highly of their food before so I knew it would be hard to choose between the pork bbq or the brisket and was happy that I had the chance to sample both! Sadly, I don't recall the name of the meal as it was listed on the menu, but it came with two sliders, a bbq and brisket slider, two sides of my choice, corn bread and some cinnamon apples. Let me say that the portion sizes were very very generous! I really enjoyed their the bbq sauce and the slider rolls. I very much preferred the brisket over the pork bbq. I ordered Mac and cheese and broccoli as my sides. I was not impressed with the Mac and cheese and the steamed broccoli was fine. I was soooo full after the sliders and a few bites of each of the sides that I brought home most of the sides. I did take a bite of the corn bread which was good and I didn't even taste the apples! Stopped in here for the first time for our first visit to Brockport. Man it was so so so good! The place itself is very casual and lots of both indoor and outdoor seating. The pulled pork was fantastic, the bbq baked beans, mac and cheese, and included corn bread and baked apples were all delish! Great value as well. I met a good friend there for dinner and it was at first not alot of people there but by 6pm the place filled up quickly. It's your typical barbecue/ bar restaurant. Lots of wood paneling and kitchy alcohol based items on the wall. It's really clean and the atmosphere is a happy vibe. My friend had the Pumpkin White Russian which she said was very delicious. Her meal was the Pulled Pork sandwich with Coleslaw and Mac and Cheese. I had the delicious Brisket Shepards Pie. I had never heard of using Brisket before but the Brisket was so tender and was seasoned very well with vegetables, mashed potatoes and a nice cheese on top. I also ordered the Crab Cake sandwich with sweet potato fries for take away. My husband said the sandwich was just OK. He felt it lacked seasoning. Overall, the waitstaff is very nice and helpful. Where do I start ? I went out with my daughter for dinner and it was the dinner from hell!!! Fisrt of all the waitress was rude, she was not friendly. She was rushing us. We ordered appetizers and she placed the appetizers on top of the menus, , them she made a comment saying the menus were not table matts. I asked to speak with a supervisor after she told me i couldn't smoke next to the smoking ashtray that they have in the entrance The waitress said it was only for the owners/employees. To my surprise she was the manager. Our food was ready after 2 hours and everything was burned (personally I think thry did it on purpose) the Strawberry martini was good BUT the service was horrible. It feels like it's important to say that there wasn't anything that was bad. The food was all fairly generic tasting and needed salt. Even the drinks (tea, lemonade) weren't good. Also, I encourage all barbecue places to put their house sauce on the side rather than putting it on things. Sometimes it does not help. I would go back for the wings, which were smoked and the highlight of the meal. I'd also probably go back to try a burger and several of the other interesting looking items on the appetizer menu. The appetizer we wanted to try was "ended for the season." :( Our service was fine and honestly I think people are still adjusting to not having the usual stuff already on the table. But it always rubs me a little bit the wrong way when 1) servers pass you standing at the door and say nothing and 2) they smooth the check onto the table without asking if you want dessert. Because, I almost always want dessert. It was all just underwhelming. So, not bad. Not recommending randomly but would recommend the bar. Would give another shot in a pinch. read more

I wanted to give a 3 but my friends suggested a 4 star rating. The BBQ was good, no doubt but the corn bread was not very good, mushy and blend. We ordered the beef brisket which was very well prepared and my friends had 1/2 rack pork. The bbq sauce is tasty and not overwhelming the meat. On the down side, the French fries are a bit undercooked, the Cajun corn are everything but Cajun, it's salty with a bunch a spice that they throw in there calling it Cajun. I have been coming to 58 Main for years. The BBQ they serve is really good and I never have any complaints. We do a mix of online (takeout) or in restaurant orders and the food quality is the same - it translates well for takeout. Pro tip: call in your order versus online as it will save you some extra fees due to the order provider they use. I generally will get their ribs which are well seasoned, but can be overly sauced (so be aware). Their sides are good, I prefer the Cajun fries and Baked Beans. I don't think there is a side I have tried and not enjoyed. I do wish they had a chili side on the menu. If I don't want to make a trip into Rochester for Dinosaur BBQ, this place beats the others in the area hands down for BBQ. read more

You can sit in the bar area with high tops the have a section of booths with privacy and an area that is great for big groups. The food is always great. I have over the years never had an issue to complain about. I have had steaks, the varying bbq affairs and some sandwiches all have been great. The bar has an outstanding amount of beverages to choose from. There are a number of televisions for games and sports. I've been a customer, who has enjoyed my experiences at the restaurant. I walked into the restaurant to pick up an order and was met by a manager. I told her who I was and the order name. She then responded by telling me to leave the restaurant because it was busy and I'm in the way. I was told to wait in my car until I receive a text letting me know when the order was ready. If I remained in the restaurant before the order was ready I would be "barred from the building." I was shocked by her comments and rude tone but had no response and returned to my car waiting for the text. After waiting over 10 minutes I received no text and decided to go back into the restaurant to check on the order. I told a waiter the name of the order and it was ready. As he handed me the order I asked who the manager was and as I was asking she appeared. I told her that I never received a text message. She responded by telling me in an extremely rude tone "that it was my problem." I told her that she was extremely rude and I would never return to the restaurant specifically because of her. I asked her for her name and she told me it was Jen, also telling me to go ahead and contact the owners. I kept my voice down with no intentions of making a scene. My hope is that she doesn't treat other customers and her staff as poorly as I was treated that evening. read more

Meh..... It feels like you're at somebody's private party...and you're not welcome. I've tried a bunch of their food, because they're local to me. I've been underwhelmed by all of the items that I've ordered. You know when you find a meal on the menu at a restaurant that becomes your go to order? This place doesn't have one. If you do want to try this place...make sure they set you away from the bar area. The local trailer trash sits near the bar and make for a horrendous experience. The only plus since the pandemic is they spent a couple of dollars on the bathrooms finally, and you won't have to be subjected to their "entertainment "......some dude with an acoustic guitar playing crap you don't want to hear. I feel bad for some of the wait staff...they do really try. But the fact that the bartender's are so seemingly hating to be there makes for a horrible experience. read more
