Great coffee and nice atmosphere to sit in. Very busy on a Saturday at 9:30am, but the line goes fast. Kudos to the 2 baristas keeping orders going quickly and being so friendly. Jalapeño bagel was surprisingly very good. Bacon and chive scone was also tasty.

We noticed the good reviews and were in need a quick breakfast bite and some coffees this weekend. There was a fairly long line, but I'm a decaf drinker and always searching out places that use Water Processed beans, which they thankfully use. As for service, extremely pleasant and incredibly fast prep time as compared to most coffee joints. The 2 coffees we got were great, as was the bagel. We grabbed some beans and instants to take with us too. The place is small but cute, with a small lot and street parking. We were happy enough with the whole package to return the next day for our coffee as well. Definitely returning when in town!

Talking with locals in the area about the best coffee companies, Backporch was one that came up multiple times. Thankfully there was one right across from our airbnb so I ended up stopping in multiple mornings. The place itself is open early; it seemed most people were grabbing stuff to go on the way to work. They also had plenty of indoor seating; cozy chairs, small tables, high tops. It seemed like a great place to meet or do quiet work. They had boards with what the feature coffees of the day were, along with bags of beans to enjoy at home. For breakfast, they had a number of pastries and bagels; I went with the latter and a tall cup of black coffee on each visit. Prices were reasonable for the quality. For toasting, they have a do-it-yourself toaster at the creamer table. The staff was friendly. They also have multiple locations around the city, so if you're visiting Bend I'm sure there's one near you.

Great local coffee roaster in Bend, Oregon. They have terrific beans and excellent drinks, and are respecting social distancing in a safe, thoughtful and easy going way. Strong coffee, delicious inky iced expresso drinks, good selection, well designed and friendly service. One of our favorite new business encounters this trip to Bend.

Stopped in for some coffee after having breakfast in town, we both decided to try the Bombay latte & also bought a bag of coffee beans to use later. (You get a free 8oz drip coffee with the purchase of a bag of coffee)- overall the coffee was really good, the Bombay has cinnamon and maple flavoring and was super tasty! The drip coffee was good to, it was nice to try one of the blends they had brewed that day. The staff was all very nice & the drinks were made fairly quick. The inside of the shop is super cute, if I lived in bend it would definitely be a place I would come to read or do work. Overall just a great little coffee shop, we came here twice while we were in bend and would recommend for anyone looking for a decent cup of coffee

Super cute coffee shop with even better service! The girls working were pleasant and friendly and definitely made the experience memorable. We grabbed some iced matcha lattes, cappuccino and their drool worthy toffee. I highly recommend a visit here if you're in the neighborhood.

This is a great coffeeshop. The barista and Server behind the counter have both been friendly and helpful. The first time I went there, I got a Hazelnut Latte for my hubby, and a Green Tea Latte for myself. My Green Tea Latte was basically "off the menu" but it was the Fez green tea from Smith Tea Makers, with Steamed Oatmilk, and some vanilla & honey as sweeteners. And, my second time, I ordered the same Green Tea Latte for me, but I got a Mocha for my hubby. I tried a little sample of his drinks both time and they were amazing, really well done. And, I was very impressed at how delicious my Green Tea Latte came out! Also, the 2nd time I went I got a "baklava roll" for my hubby that was Brioche dough, with cinnamon roll feeling, and a chocolate chip cookie for me. Everything was delicious, and it was a great space you could grab a table and read a book or do work on your laptop or other device. I am grateful that our airbnb is 1 block walk away from this place, it is such a great find!

Peloton coffee beans - Colombian roast with flavor notes of cherry, toffee, and sweet chocolate. Can't wait to try this at home!

Wow what a great local chain for coffee. We were heading to brunch but didn't want to wait an hour so we pivoted to Backporch. We parked on the street so I'm not sure if they have their own lot but we had no issues with finding parking on a Friday late morning. I got a honey lavender latte, half sweet with oat milk sub. It was nice and creamy and the espresso was perfectly done with hints of chocolate and nuts. I'm not too big of a fan of their lavender syrup as it almost tasted just a bit soapy for me. Next time I'll stick with simple syrup and just enjoy the wonderful espresso. The oat milk was perfectly creamy and a great complement to their coffee :) They carry pastries from a couple of local bakeries including Sparrow. I tried the Ocean (croissant dough with cardamom and vanilla plus a hint of sea salt) which was incredibly tasty and perfect with coffee, and also the bacon and cheese scone which was surprisingly filling. They also have banana bread but I like to try the off-the-wall unique pastries whenever I visit new coffee spots. Highly recommend theirs! I also bought a bag of coffee beans for my coffee snob sister LOL. I asked one of the baristas for recs and got the Peloton which is a Colombian roast that brews nicely as a drip coffee with lovely tasting notes. The place is cute inside with plenty of seats but there were also a few tables right outside where we could enjoy the sun and the beautiful Fall weather. The baristas are all super kind, friendly and genuine which made the experience even better. We will definitely be back before we head out of town! :)

It's very conveniently located within walking distance to the rest of downtown Bend. It can get pretty packed, and seating isn't always guaranteed, but if you have time to hang around, the atmosphere is well worth experiencing. There's a bar-style seating area where locals seemed genuinely settled in, giving the shop a true neighborhood feel. I ordered a large Belgian Mocha, which was rich in flavor while not being overly sweet. The espresso was definitely still there, so the drink was beyond just a dessert vibe. Service was friendly and efficient, with my drink ready in just a few minutes despite the crowd. Overall, this is a lively downtown coffee spot best suited for those who want quality drinks and don't mind a local crowd.

I looked around for something similar, but less the cardamon and came across Cafe des Chutes. We visited at 9 am on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded at all, with only a single person ahead. They have plenty of seating and I think most people decide to eat their treats in the cafe; we had to hit the trail though, so we got ours to go to eat while hiking. Mango Sticky Rice Honey Glazed Croissant ($6.25) - Woah, this is an exceptionally sticky pastry, so sticky it's actually a little cumbersome to eat since the glaze spreads on any surface it touches and becomes very difficult to remove. The glaze tastes just like fresh honey - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it were mostly honey. There's not much mango flavor until closer to the center, along with another flavor of something very fragrant almost flowery They sprinkle coconut flakes on top, giving a somewhat fruity flavor. The croissant itself is very good - great crust, nicely flaky and crisp with a great texture on the interior, chewy and airy. The lamination seems to be good based on a cursory inspection, but I didn't have a sharp bread knife on me for a clean cut as I usually do. The pastry is very sweet and the glaze covers up the flavor of the croissant entirely. (5/5) Oregon Roll ($6.25) - This base, on the other hand, is really buttery, combining the great lamination, crispy and flaky, with great flavor. There's a fantastic honeycomb texture on the inside combined with the perfect chewiness. They do add a marionberry swirl on the interior, which is pretty obviously included in terms of color, but can't really be tasted on top of the croissant butteriness. On top, they spread a spiced hazelnut glaze, sweet and nutty, almost like peanut butter in texture mixed with butter. Delicious pastry overall. (5/5) Savory Bread Pudding ($10) - This is a super dense and heavy (in weight) bread pudding baked in a muffin mold. They offer to heat it up and it's a really good idea to eat this warmed. We opted to get it cold since we weren't going to eat it for a couple of hours (for a picnic lunch) and it basically wasn't edible, with super dense, bitter and stale tasting bread, making it hard to even stick a fork into the top. We ended up waiting until we got to the hotel room to heat it up the next morning for breakfast, which made it much more palatable. There's some mushroom essence with tons of black pepper and a dense yet pleasingly chewy bread. Cheese is baked on top and there's a little vegetal bitterness from spinach. Not rating this since we ate it the next day. Overall I enjoyed my treats from Cafe des Chutes. I would visit again the next time I'm in Bend. Bathrooms - Tiny room near the front. The water heater takes up some of the space inside, so it's quite warm in the room
