DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! Arrived at 4:20pm today 4/24/19 (they close at 5pm). Took about 10 mins waiting at the register for someone to come over and help me, mind you they saw me there waiting but no one had acknowledged me. Ordered 2 backyard bowls and asked to substitute the blueberries for pitaya, they told me no, it would cost extra, I said fine, I will pay extra for the pitaya, they did not give me a receipt. When receiving my order the guy said he put a P on the one with pitaya (dragon fruit), got home to split my bowl and there was NO PITAYA. I PAID EXTRA FOR NOTHING!!! I called to complain and just got the voicemail that was full so lesson learned, this company is poorly managed and rips you off. My coworkers at the Hospital warned me about this place and how long they make you wait and try to lose business with 20 min wait times. Heck I could go back there and make my own bowl in less than that time. Note to the manager/owner YOU ARE LOSING BUSINESS! Don't waste your time/ money here, not worth it. So disappointed. read more

Why have the option to call in an order if they're not going to make it until I get there? This is not the first time this has happened. I'd be more understanding if they were packed but they all look too high to qualify and no one had any clue about my phone order though it popped up to be paid for. Even though it is my first review here it definitely is not my first time here. I would say about once a week we get something here. My review it's only about this last time, called in order girl was friendly asked if wanted honey and nuts, said yes and she said it would take about five minutes to get. I was there about 7 minutes later to pick up. First at the register people are taking too long to place and pay for orders. Girl there very friendly, and quick for me to pay for my order. She tells me my order will be ready soon, so even though it's been like 12 minutes since placing order, and she said 5, and it's not ready, really? So I wait, once my name is called the guy making the bowls asks me agin if I want nuts and honey, so didn't she ask me already. I Daisy yes again, and I get my bows handed. It just seems repetitive asking same thing few times, if she asked me and there's a receipt with that printed on, why keep asking. Probably next time give a more accurate time frame when it would be finish. Not just say 5 minutes for the sake of saying, and make people wait much longer than that. read more

I have gotten the Green Bowl (delicious and healthy tasting), Diego's Power Bowl (LOVE the PB inside this bowl and it kept me full for hours and hours), PB smoothie (awesome post workout shake), and the Backyard Quinoa (high protein breakfast option). This is the original backyard bowls location. I have loved their bowls since the day they opened years ago! I got a lot of my friends hooked on them and we all tried making them at home! They have a variety of bowl types to fit palate. I am partial to the the island bowl (first one I tried), berry bowl, and green bowl. They can get pricey if you add more toppings to them or get the larger size, but their portions are generous and always keep me full for a long time. I moved to LA a year ago and haven't found a place like this yet! Whenever I am in SB I stop at one of their locations to get my fix. read more

This place is Amazingly delicious! I came to another backyard bowls in SB two years ago and now that I was stopping back through town I made it a point to stop in again. I was surprised to find there are now multiple locations (lucky locals). I had the Berry Bowl in a small and it was great the perfect ratio of Acai blend, granola and fruit. The service here was fast and friendly, didn't have to wait long at all and all the fruit was fresh.
