8/21/25 - Before the game, we grabbed slices at the highly rated Bacali Pizza in Lakewood. I should have known better as Lakewood isn't exactly a pizzeria hotbed. The bad: the crust on the plain underneath and on the outer rim was extremely dry. So it gives you decent crunch but not much on flavor. It's clear that they are not rubbing the dough with olive oil. Pretty sure they aren't mixng any oil in the dough either. The cheese is definitely not 100% real whole milk mozzarella cheese. There's some in the mix for sure, but there's some of the cheap stuff in there as well. The sauce was bland too. No oregano flavor. No basil flavor. Very little garlic flavor. All of these shortcomings apply to the Sicilian slice with one other noticeable problem. The crust on the Sicilian absolutely has NONE of that Sicilian pizza taste. They are likely making the crust using the same dough as they use for their neopolitan pies. The result is--- it makes it taste like their regular pizza just thicker. That's a fail. Been coming here since after Hurricane Sandy, Since they LITERALLY were the only place still with power in the area. They're usually always busy because why not? They're food is excellent. The pizza to the Zepoli to the Penne Ala Vodka, and my friends who I've brought here have said "These are the best (Buffalo) Wings I've ever had!" The staff is very friendly. Its always clean. Just moved to the area . Wanted vodka pizza but they dont make it however they suggested i try the penne w vodka sauce . Was glad i did. It Was delicious! I ate leftovers 3 days in a row! now Im a pizza snob so i can only say that the pizza in my opinion is fair. My son got a cheesesteak and said it was average but he is extremely picky so...... and lastly, the zeppoles - too chewy - but, in their defense, ive never gotten a zeppole at any pizza joint that are like when u get them fresh at a fair or on the boardwalk. the staff is also super friendly but not annoyingly so. I'm not quite sure how this place is so highly rated. I moved nearby recently and thought I was getting a good deal by going for the 2lg pizzas and a 2l soda for 22.99 I was mistaken. The crust is much too thick with far too much developed gluten lending to an unreasonably chewy crust. If the dough had not been worked so far it could have easily been stretched to double the size but alas the "large" was barely 14". The sauce was barely noticeable lacking any depth of flavor, neither acidic or savory, I won't be surprised to learn it is sweetened tomato paste diluted with water. The cheese was overpoweringly bland, low quality cheap shredded cheese using quantity over quality. Overall the entire pizza lacked salt and depth. My waistline is grateful for this experience, no need to return. read more

One of my favorite places around. The guy who usually picks up the phone knows who I am and starts speaking Italian because of my name. They have reasonable prices and good quality food. Delivery is sometimes sluggish but that is because they are always busy. Everytime you walk foot into there place its packed with people.
