A friend recommended this place because I wanted to support local coffee shops instead of going to Starbucks. I want to start off by saying that the shop itself is super cute and the menu is great, but my review is for the employees. I went in on a Friday afternoon and there were 4 employees working. Neither of them were wearing a mask or gloves. They are handling food and preparing drinks like this and with Covid-19 reaching a new high I was concerned that the company did not care for the well being of their customers. With that said, I will not be returning. I have found other local coffee shops that are taking the correct precautions. read more

My favorite locally owned coffee shop of all time! Excellent, high quality coffee and tea. They offer tasty bites as well! I highly recommend the peanut butter toast on their cranberry walnut bread. The staff are all friendly helpful. Very well designed interior with lots of seating. I work from home often and come in here to use their space. The coffee has a mild watery flavor at best. Have tried multiple different drinks and have had the same result every time. Drinks have also not been hot as they should be. The cold brew tasted like drinking water and had no flavor of coffee. The location is great for us and I love supporting small local coffee shops, so I hope this are things that can be improved. read more

Badfish is absolutely a one of a kind gem that deserves to be treasured! I have been coming here since they opened and have never had anything except a 10/10 experience. My favorite drink is an iced Sunday morning latte and I once ate one of their amazing chocolate chip cookies everyday for like 2 weeks straight (judge yourself)... the only thing better than their drink/food options are the owners, Pearl and Mark! I love this place. Great coffee. I mean GREAT coffee. Mmmmmmmm. Good food - this is a coffee house so that means light pastries and avocado toast type of things. So far everything we've tried has been good. Good prices. Super friendly amazing staff. No I wasn't paid or asked to write this. I just like this place so much. Decorated with art from local artists. Wow. Nice stuff. Lots of seating options. There is even a back room with a couch and table, bar seating, window seats, and good wifi. Did I mention they're FRIENDLY in a genuine way. Love the cozy feel and ambiance to this place. Nice and talented baristas as well. My only complaint was the local Chocolate Fish drip coffee was pretty bad. Had that old sour Folger's taste to it. A secluded little spot that you would never notice if you aren't paying attention to the road. I've seen the sign a few times but never had the means to stop by and check it out but today I finally stopped and went inside and was greeted by an amazing coffee scent and boho decor. Loved the plants and 1950s vibes. A lot of seating area and open space for comfortable social interactions. The menu was well equipped with coffee choices and food items. I asked the barista for good recommendations and ordered myself a hot white mocha. She was very helpful and polite in helping us choose our drinks. While we waited we took a look around and saw this small corner in the back with couches and chairs and shelves with books you can take and read and we thought that it was pretty cool! Not many places do that. When our beverages were ready we grabbed them and took them over to a table and evaluated the cups and thought they were cute and took a sip. We were surprised at how good it was honestly! Such a pleasant sweetness and perfect blend with espresso. We drank them pretty quickly and played some board games that they had and headed out and decided we would most definitely recommend this place and come back for more! read more

I am so happy to have a place like this in our community. Great staff, great environment. I love that they support other small businesses within our community. They have a variety of healthy drinks and snacks. They just introduced an amazing spinach salad that is fresh and tastes amazing. I am on the keto diet and they offer a keto coffee aka bullet coffee, and with this salad I can easily stay on track. I don't understand the point of having a coffee shop with such limited hours. I live down the street, but never able to enjoy this place since they close so early. I have tried their iced lattes and they're ok. Not many options, simple menu. Pastries were good. They also sell locally made items, like jewelry, soaps, etc. Again, I really can't stand that they close before 6 PM when after work is a prime time for people to get together, study, whine down. read more

What a perfect Orangevale Gem. They have pastries, quiche, as well as a small menu such as their heavenly avocado toast....yum. Lots of local art hangs on the wall, some even for sale. There's a small room in the back with a couch like a reading nook. This space can be reserved for use with its sliding barn door. You can even pick up a few bottled drinks or chia mixture/tea leaves if you are not currently in the mood for coffee or tea. Nice atmosphere, great management and lots of locals take a beat here. This place deserves more than 5 stars! My entire experience here was amazing. The store is so clean, and inviting. Every staff member was friendly, and went above and beyond to help me. I tend to be especially indecisive, and even with a very busy store, the cashier was so courteous to me and helped me decide on a drink. I have been here a handful of times and always make sure I stop by, even if it's a little out of my route. The owners are so amazing and down to earth. Yay! I was so excited to run into this place today when I was on my way to Star... for coffee. I am overjoyed to find a coffee shop like this in Orangevale and hope it can be the start of other new hip businesses. The owner was working the counter and greeted me, very friendly. The space was very comfortable and inviting. The coffee was delicious and my order was delivered quickly. They have multiple alternative milks to choose from, as well as smoothies and a few snacks. Badfish is right. I ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk and it tasted like real milk with barely any coffee in it and zero vanilla flavor. I must be spoiled by my favorite coffee house in Folsom. I won't be coming back here. read more
