It was warm, soft, the perfect blend of lox, cream cheese, red onion, capers, tomatoes. It's cut in half. Wrapped in parchment and wrapped again in a fancy red checkered parchment. Hubby had the steak cheese sandwich. If you love beef, get this!!! Everything bagel and sun dried tomato cream cheese - a generous portion of cream cheese! We also got a treat from Bob! Came at 3pm on a Saturday and all the bagels I wanted were gone. No everything, garlic, or onion :( I had to settle for plain. It was surprisingly sorta busy, even though they were close to closing. Service was fine, not great. It felt like all the workers were teenagers who didn't really care, if you know what I mean. SAUSAGE, EGG, & CHEESE: It was exactly what you'd expect, in a good way. The bagel was hot, soft, and satisfying to eat. The TURKEY SAUSAGE, EGG, & CHEESE tasted almost exactly the same. Hard to tell the difference. JALAPEÑO CHEESE BAGEL: Surprisingly loaded with jalapeños and spicier than expected. PLAIN BAGEL: My last option. Plain is plain is plain. Not much else to say about it. I overheard a worker say that he likes the egg bagels more than the plain, and I instantly regretted not getting the egg instead of plain. It isn't bad, it's just not anything special with no flavor. LOX SANDWICH: At first, I thought it was loaded with salmon and was impressed, only to realize that there were thick tomato slices blending into the salmon slices. I felt a little bamboozled while eating because I thought it was loaded with salmon, but it was really loaded with tomato. The ratio was definitely off, with more tomato than salmon. Very disappointing. I could taste the salmon, but it definitely wasn't worth the price. Also, the bagel was too hard. I don't think they heated it at all. Or if they did, it wasn't enough. You could probably request it get heated more when you order though. Also, extremely messy to eat. The salmon and tomatoes kept sliding out with every bite. All in all, not a terrible lox sandwich. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and a breakfast sandwich made on a quality bagel is unbeatable. I've had some of the best bagels on the East coast and when a NYC native told me about Bagel Bob's, I had to come check it out. From what I understand, this is their new and improved location located near I10 and 610. Having some errands to run in the area made it to be the perfect time to try this place out. It's kind of tucked away and hidden off Post Oak in a business park of sorts. I came on a weekend so Bagel Bob's seemed like the only place open which made parking a breeze. I came mid morning and underestimated the popularity of this place. The line was long but moved at a steady pace. The inside space is pretty small and tables are tight. Luckily seats regularly opened up so I got to enjoy my breakfast hot and fresh. The wait allowed me to see what they had to offer. They have a couple of display cases full of pastries, deli meats, salads, etc. Things you would expect at a deli. I came for a breakfast sandwich, but there are all kinds of options here. Their bagels come in all the typical flavors and they have all kinds of spreads like plain, scallion, veggies, strawberry, blueberry, jalapeno cheddar and cinnamon. In addition to the all day breakfast sandwiches, you can also get lunch like egg salad, chicken salad, tuna, ham, turkey, roast beef, and pastrami. It was early, but I saw they have a pizza bagel and good ole Hebrew National hot dogs as well. With the owner being a NY native, I thought I would see some pork roll or Taylor ham, but regular ham was the offering along with bacon, sausage, and turkey sausage. I got a sausage, egg and cheese on a on a plain bagel. It took a bit to come out, but it was expected with the amount of customers steadily coming through. The food came out hot and fresh. The bagel exceeded my expectations as it was as close to a NYC bagel as I have had in Houston. They hand roll, boil and then bake them to perfection here. The outside was crunchy while the inside was soft and pillowy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I washed it down with fresh squeezed orange juice. It was a little too pulpy for my liking so I'd probably skip that next time. If you're looking for quality bagels like you would get in New York, Bagel Bobs takes the crown in Houston so far. Found this place on TikTok and glad that I decided to go. It gives family owned but not 100% sure. There is seating available with tables. I wouldn't chill and work there but do encourage to sit and chat over a bagel and smear for sure. The staff were nice and offered general customer service. I was new to this place so I had no idea if there was go to however a gentleman in line said he was a regular and gets a sausage, egg and cheese on everything bagel so that's what I did! I came in here not knowing what to expect. I ordered the jersey special that has pastrami egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheese bagel. The bagel was definitely not what I expected, a slice of American cheese with some jalapeños on top of it, however taste wise it was good, it had a good crunch since it was toasted and the jalapeños were fresh and even though they did not have seeds it was still spicy. I also paired it with a raspberry tea that was very refreshing and helped calm down the spicyness. I have been wanting to try this place out and finally got the chance after popping by Awty. I got the everything bagel with salmon. First of all it was an overwhelming amount of cream cheese and the bagels were too hard. Made me sad because I've really been looking for an awesome bagel place. Everyone inside was very nice. It's good, but not drive 35 minutes good. Service was great, truly. And to be fair, it was almost 11 by the time I got there, so naturally all the best flavors were already sold out. The space is tiny and cozy, and it's tucked in an industrial office looking area, so I was definitely confused when I pulled up. But once you're inside, it's cute and welcoming. Food was good. Has the same energy and most similar flavor to a NYC bagel shop that I've had in Houston so far! Line on a Saturday morning was out the door but the line moved pretty quickly. Seating is a bit competitive and cramped, but turnover is pretty fast and I feel like it adds to the energy. In addition to the bagels, they've got some good looking pastries including enormous black and white cookies and fluffy cheesecake. Looked like they also had freshly squeezed lemonades and fruit juices which looked good. Bon Orzo, the owner, was in the middle of the action behind the counte coordinating everything and handing out a few orders at the tables while we were there. Seeing a framed newspaper listing of his bagel shop in NYC made me feel like this was going to the a legit spot, andi wasn't disappointed. Full disclosure, I'm a bit of a bagel snob and have around 3-4 bagels each time I'm in NYC (around 2X per year). We got a lox sandwhich with sesame bagel and scallion cream cheese, and a sesame bagel with plain cream cheese. Sesame bagel itself was the highlight and had a good textured chew/bite to it with some fluffiness in the center, similar to a NYC bagel, though slightly drier and less "stretchy" (ifykyk). Cream cheese had good flavor and felt fresh, but felt more buttery than creamy and fluffy which is what I prefer, and it felt like it diluted the flavor a little bit (like 1/2 intensity of flavor?). Salmon was great, and especially at a price point of $12 with a good portion (compared to $20+ in NYC), I can complain here though I would say it doesn't have as much depth and flavor. Even so, It's definitely the closest I've had to a NYC bagel (Russ and daughters, Essa bagel) in Houston so far so I will be coming back for more. read more

When a friend from New Jersey recommended this spot, I knew I had to try it. I came by a few weeks ago around 11am on a Saturday, and there was already a line wrapped around the building. I didn't let that stop me and thankfully, it moved pretty quickly! The inside isn't anything fancy, but I trusted the process. After placing my order, I only waited about 5 minutes before both of my bagels were ready. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese, and a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese. I originally wanted them on jalapeño cheese bagels, but they were sold out :( The cashier suggested asiago instead and WOWWWW it was a great call. Both bagels were seriously good, but the turkey sausage was hands-down the winner. Good bagel with flavor- got the bacon egg and cheese on everything with scallion cream cheese. Got there right at opening and was greeted by I assume the owner, and the cashier was very friendly. A few things: They forgot the cream cheese on the bagel. Not happy about that, especially since they just opened, but the egg and bacon were cooked well and the cheese was nice and melty. This is not exactly a typical NYC bagel you'd find in Queens or Manhattan. If you've had Russ and Daughters, Utopia, Tompkins, Liberty...doesn't quite hit the mark. BUT- it does have good flavor in the seasoning and is not something you'd find in the supermarket. Bagel was over toasted and so some parts had a decent chew to it, and others just too dry and hard. Didn't feel like finishing most of it. Coffee is DELICIOUS. Gotta give it that. The place was clean and there's plenty of seating. Overall- a pretty good spot for a quick breakfast and straight up good coffee. Wouldn't go super out of my way, but I appreciate the option if you're close by. read more

I'm sure they're still working out kinks but... it would probably be in their best favor to get some sort of menu of the bagel options, and a concise menu of what they offer - just to get the line flowing for efficiency. Oof today's pick up order was rough. Totally unorganized, no menu, employees taking orders from memory then forgetting. It was just a hot mess. The only good thing I can say is the bagels themselves are good. The bad was everything else. We received an incorrect bagel with our order. We ordered a bagel and lox with cream cheese. Instead we got a lox cream cheese bagel. We ordered a cortado and a vanilla latte. Both coffees were not only made incorrectly, but they ran out of milk, leaving you only with the option of almond milk or half and half. It's hard to explain what mine even tasted like. Hubby's cortado def wasn't a cortado. When the guy brought the coffee, he forgot the other coffee all together. There was a constant line, but everyone was in the same situation. On the phone with their loved one so that when you get to the front of the line, you can basically ask the employee what's on the menu. Not sure what's going on over at Bagel Bob's, but it's not good!! I've been going to Bagel Bob's for over 3 years and followed him from the Dairy Ashford location to N. Post Oak. I haven't been in a 2-3 weeks as we've been traveling but Saturday morning I was all excited to run over to Bagel Bob's and feast on bagels over the weekend. I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!! All the bagels they were turning out Saturday morning were about 1/2 to 2/3 the normal size and several looked deformed; they tasted different too! They weren't the thick chewy bagels we'd gotten used to from Bob's. What's happening to my favorite bagel shop in town?!?! I've bragged to dozens of friends about how if you're not getting your bagels from Bob's you're just limping along. To be honest the bagels in the bag from HEB were MUCH better that what I got from Bob on Saturday morning. I've post so pics from the "bagels" from Bob's on Saturday to prove what I'm writing. I'm not giving up on you Bob, but you're going to have to much better than Saturday to keep your following and loyal customers. But if I find this hasn't change in the next visit or two, I'll be going to HEB and buy "bag bagels" which are better than Saturday's production. read more

Bagel Bob's is definitely the best NY style bagel shop here on the westside Houston. Bob came down from NY to open up shop here for a change of pace in life and I am glad he made the right choice. The new location is a but far for me but I am willing to make the drive to get some bagels from Bob. The new place is much bigger with seatings and tables. I love the back is also much bigger where he has the space to make more bagels and other pastries. You can get a single bagel, by the dozen, or make it into a sandwich as there are a good variety of options here. I usually get a sandwich with two eggs and ham and cheese. Now I mentioned pastries earlier as he have a rotation of sweets or croissants fresh baked for the day for sale. But he also have the $1 leftover special from the day before. I'll be up front here, this is the best deal if you don't mind being a day old. I have pretty much tried all of his bagels before and they were all great. Great little bagel shop on the cusp of the heights. The bagels are super fresh and made with that special New York water and have that non bready feel. Once I found Bagel Bob's, I didn't need to try any other bagel place. Pretty bummed they moved further from me but it's worth the drive. Plus now we can sit and eat inside! My husband is from NY. He LOVED, the bagels. He immediately said, finally a boiled bagel with melted cream cheese. We also tried the pastrami bagel, it was to go but it didn't make it out the deli . We also had the egg, ham and cheese. There was a line but we didn't wait long at all. First of all, Bob's does have great bagels. However, the service at this new location is not good. I ordered a turkey and egg bagel with no cheese. When they handed me the bagel, I confirmed, "no cheese, right?" And the lady said "yes there's cheese."
