Once I found Bagel Bob's, I didn't need to try any other bagel place. Pretty bummed they moved further from me but it's worth the drive. Plus now we can sit and eat inside! The bagels are crisp yet fluffy and have the perfect balance of spread. I will say that even tho I ask for a toasted bagel it some times is not. But the bagels are amazing either way. My favorite is the fact that there really isn't a "bottom" bc they're completely covered in seasonings. read more

Bagel Bob's has the feeling of a classic, mom-and-pop bagel shop (though I don't know if it actually is). I got a cinnamon raisin bagel, and my friend ordered a bagel with lox and cream cheese--both were very good, fresh, and solid renditions on the bagel. read more

Saw a TikTok on this place, talking about Bob and why he opened this place. Everything looked really good so I thought I would give it a try, I love a good bagel and they are really hard to find in Houston. Yes there are some good bagel places in Houston, but most of them are just bread.. a good bagel is kind of tough and chewy and dense and boy does bagel. Bob have it down. My husband is from NY. He LOVED, the bagels. He immediately said, finally a boiled bagel with melted cream cheese. We also tried the pastrami bagel, it was to go but it didn't make it out the deli . We also had the egg, ham and cheese. There was a line but we didn't wait long at all. There is a good balance of people staying to eat and others taking it to go so it wasn't an issue finding seats. read more

First of all, Bob's does have great bagels. However, the service at this new location is not good. I ordered a turkey and egg bagel with no cheese. When they handed me the bagel, I confirmed, "no cheese, right?" And the lady said "yes there's cheese." I asked if she could scrape it off - I'm lactose intolerant - and she begrudgingly tried but the cheese and bagel had become one. At this point, there are no other bagels left because it's 1pm, and I'm starving and had to get back to work, so I said I'd just eat the other side of the bagel with no cheese. If this review is too long here's a summary: The staff do an incredible job and have a passion for their work. The bagels speak for themselves. Walk-in early and try one, I bet you've never had one this good. Ps. I forgot to mention that the bagels are made fresh every single day. This reviews abit personal because we've been coming here since the old location. For those of you who know, this was a massive improvement. I also don't mind the drive because of how good these bagels are. Since day 1 of coming here I've experienced nothing but friendly staff who are incredibly hard working and know their customer service. The new location has an open layout with enough chairs for all of Bob's customers. Which there are tons, I recommend showing up before 10am if you want to make sure they have the bagel you want. There are also tall lovely windows which let just the right amount of sun in, with no ugly glare. I saw some negative reviews and wanted to clear some things up. With all new locations come adjustments and I expect things to be more refined in about a month or two. For me, I don't care how long it takes. Just be patient with them, I don't think they expected to be so popular right after their move. If my review does anything, I just ask that you do yourself a favor and try them out. This newest location for Bob's works way better for me, in proximity to home. We know there's not any good Bagel places in this area. ..if they can repeat and be consistent they should maintain for a good run. I love their Breakfast Bagel Sandwiches. I finally tried the Jalapeño/Cheese bagel. Not a huge fan. I'll still stick to the many other options. I've only tried them once since their new location and they still rock. I plan to return. read more

Hands down the best bagels in Texas. I'm originally from NYC and just moved to Texas, and I've been seriously craving a legit bacon, egg, and cheese. This place absolutely delivers. The bagels are as authentic and close to home as it gets -- the real deal. The service is amazing, the vibes are on point, and Bagel Bob is a genuinely cool dude. This is the first time I've had the opportunity to go to bagel. Bob's, upon walking in it is a cute little restaurant. With I believe nine tables and a small bar with barstools. Upon ordering, there is a menu for the bagels, breakfast and sandwiches and then an assortment of BOB drinks and some unidentified liquid in plastic cups, but no real drink menu, I was highly disappointed that they did not have iced tea, other than some sweet tea in a bottle, I asked for my bagel to be toasted, and the only part of it that seemed toasted was the outside, it was as if they toasted the whole bagel and then cut it in half. The food itself was adequate, although it would have been better with a real toasted bagel, un toasted. The bagel seemed a bit gummy. I know that this is a new location for them so I will give them another month and then go back. The flavors were great. It was only the texture of the bagel that rubbed me the wrong way but next time I will be a bit more specific with them on the toasted bagel. I'm sure that once they get a little bit more organized, I will be able to add at least one more star to the review, definitely go and give them a shot. read more

As someone who grew up in New York City and just got back from another round of real deal bagels in the boroughs, I was genuinely curious to see what the hype was about -- especially with the claim that they bring in NYC water to make their bagels. Let's get into it: I ordered an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and a jalapeño cheese bagel with scallion cream cheese. The bagels themselves weren't bad -- decent chew, decent flavor -- but let's not kid ourselves: they're not NYC bagels. Missing that iconic crisp outer crust and dense, chewy center that defines the gold standard. These leaned more soft and bready. Biggest issue for me? The cream cheese. It had a strange, almost shawarma garlic sauce consistency -- runny, overly wet, and kind of a mess. I also asked for the bagel toasted, and it wasn't. Not sure if it was a slip-up at the counter, but that detail really changes the experience when you're looking for texture and warmth. Service was fine, young staff, casual vibe -- but execution matters. Bottom line: Bagel Bob's HTX isn't bad if you're local and want a bagel fix. We got the ban egg and cheddar on garlic salt. We also tried the lox spread on everything. Chewy soft bagel, lots of salmon in the cream cheese, salty - 10/10! The service was quick and the tenders were sweet! It was busy when we went, but plenty of seating in the small space. read more

Bagel Bob's is our all time favorite bagel spot!! Aside from the delicious bagels (you really can't go wrong, order literally anything and you will be impressed) the customer service is above and beyond. If you've been to the old location, and are debating making the drive out to the new one, I highly recommend it! The inside is adorable, and there is space to sit and enjoy. On a busy Sunday morning, expect to wait for fresh bagels to come out. When we visited today, we were told 20 minutes so we went out to the car to wait to leave open tables for other customers. The bagels were out earlier than expected, and one of the sweet employees came outside to find us and deliver our bagels! This establishment puts customers first, and delivers such an amazing experience each and every time. read more

I love bagel bobs! My mom and I have been coming here since their old location. Their bagels are fresh and soft. I've gotten turkey sausage and egg on cinnamon raisin and my mom has gotten the lox sandwich on a blueberry bagel. We have tried other bagel shops and they don't compare as their bagels are smaller. Since moving to their new location, they have had a lot more traffic. When we first came to the new location it took us about 45 minutes to receive our order. We waited about a month before coming back and this time it only took about 10 minutes. I do recommend maybe crossing out which bagels are sold out on their menu by the cashier so customers know what is still available. Overall I do recommend! read more

4 stars because this is probably the best you'll find in Houston. My boyfriend is from NYC and Bagel Bob's hit the spot for him! We ordered the lox sandwich and a bacon, egg, and cheese. Both on an everything bagel. We asked for scallion schmear on the lox, but they gave us plain. Other than that, the lox was great! As for the bacon, egg, and cheese, we really appreciated that they provided two layers of bacon. My only criticism is that the cheese tastes like a Kraft or some other lower-tier cheese. It's not sharp at all, and we could hardly taste it. They also didn't seem to provide much of it. Overall, Bagel Bob's is reasonably priced and provides a nice, chewy bagel. Best you'll find in Houston. read more

Went on a Friday morning around 9:30 and there wasn't really a line and didn't have to wait to long. Bagel sandwiches were great and so was the plain bagel with cream cheese. My wife didn't like the blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese, but she is also pretty pregnant so it have just been that. 9/10 and would definitely try again read more

I was in the area and had a craving for an everything bagel. Saw that Bagel Bob's was nearby and decided to give it a try. Holy cow!!! YES! Arrived 30 minutes before closing and it was packed. I waited less than 5 minutes to order and our bagels were being made fresh and brought out 10 minutes later. I was so impressed that they made more bagels even though they were closing soon. I feel like most places would just say they'd run out of that variety. The ingredients were quality and the texture of the bagel was literally perfect! I will definitely be back! read more

It wasn't until roughly 10:45 that I received a message saying the bagel flavor I selected was unavailable. No big deal at all -- I responded immediately and said everything bagels would be great. Then... nothing. Two separate DoorDash drivers went to the restaurant and waited for the order. It still wasn't ready, and we received no meaningful update explaining what was happening. Finally, at around 12:30 p.m., more than two hours after we ordered breakfast, the delivery arrived with only the cookie. No breakfast sandwiches. No half-dozen bagels. Just a cookie. The most frustrating part wasn't even that the food didn't arrive. Restaurants get busy. Items sell out. Mistakes happen. The problem was the complete lack of communication. If someone had simply said, "We can't fulfill this order," we could have cancelled and ordered breakfast somewhere else. Instead, we waited for more than two hours and ended up without breakfast. Other reviewers may love the bagels, but unfortunately I never really got the opportunity to find out. The pickles are a fan favorite for me, and I tend to devour several of them. This visit I decided to try the fried fish sandwich (made with halibut) with onion rings and french fries and my friend, a Houston native who had never been here, went for the Schleppy Joe with onion rings. These sandwiches were stunning and wonderful. I saved half for to go so I could have their classic New York Cheesecake... the best in the city. The entire dining experience was top notch, exactly the experience I always have. Ziggy knows how to make the customers dining experience an "experience", I have never had a bad one, from the service down to the cleanliness of the entire place. In this review I want to give a special shout out to Beverly, our server, as she was amazing and whom I recommend. She practically read our minds and was an absolute star. Thank you, Beverly, for the fine service that was speedy with a smile!

I had the seasonal jalapeño pepper jack bagel, Asiago and cinnamon. For the schmears I got the cinnamon, scallion, and jalapeño. The worker told me the best way to heat it up which was to air fry it for about 5 min and it did stay nice and soft inside while slightly crispy outside. I loved the scallion cream cheese because it comes with a shallot or mild red onion that gives it a lot of flavor. The jalapeño and cinnamon were solid. Overall, this is a good bagel spot and I like how many different bagel and schmear flavors they have. A competing popular bagel spot has recently opened in Houston and luckily they aren't very close to each other. Each have pros and cons. While those bagels are better fresh Jeff's has more options, is better priced, and has no wait time.

They'll hit the spot if you're craving authentic New York bagels without leaving Houston, but they're not worth a detour. Nothing groundbreaking here. Does it do what it says on the tin? Yes. Would I fly someone in to experience it? No. Would I grab one before work if I lived nearby? Absolutely. It's the bagel equivalent of a solid neighborhood joint. Reliable, friendly, does the job, doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. Tried the lox on plain, jersey special on jalapeño cheddar, and ham egg and cheese on everything. All competent. None memorable. But that's not really the point, is it? You're here for accessible NY bagels, not life changing experiences. Bottom line. Locals, this is your spot. I wouldn't compare Royal Bakery to Leidenheimer. Royal Bakery's bread is just great in its own right. The old concept of "there's something in the water" applies here in the same way that comparing Houston bagels to New York City bagels is rather pointless. Service here is always great.
