Today was my second time here. The first time it was super crowded and the wait was awhile but the service and food was great. Today was strange. The middle aged man at the counter didn't even say hello just said "what do you want" then when I asked for a multigrain bagel he said they were out but 2 were in the basket I pointed to. He just said "oh guess I lied" in this monotone sarcastic tone. While waiting for like 15 minutes for 2 sandwiches the same guy yells over to the table my husband and I are sitting at and says "you know your order is ready and has been ready" in this weird tone. Not one person including this guy told us the order was done. We were the only people in the place. Not sure why they take a name for an order and then just let it sit there without telling anyone it's been ready for 10-15 minutes. It was just such a strange experience. It felt like no one cared about anything. And on top of it The food was not hot anymore and was soggy... I'll stick to Holmdel Bagels where the service is always great. read more

I've been searching for a decent bagel place in the area since Eli's closed, and after trying this place a few times, I can safely say Bagel Boyz is not it. The bagels are on par with grocery store freezer bagels in terms of taste and texture, and the breakfast sandwiches are definitely lacking in fillings (one tiny piece of bacon, seriously?) Every time I've come in here, I'm met with nothing but a nasty attitude from staff. No hello, no how are you, just a grunt, or a gruff 'what do you want'. And heaven help you if you have a question or problem with your order. I politely asked why I was charged a different price for the exact same order I placed the previous week and the man behind the counter immediately started arguing with me. I work for a small business myself and understand that polite and professional customer service is key, so I am not sure why Bagel Boyz is so comfortable having such a rude and argumentative attitude. Very disappointed lately with the customer service offered by Bagel Boys. I have been on hold sometimes close to 10 minutes or nobody picks up the phone. When arriving in the store there's more wait even though the order was placed on the phone. Not sure if they are understaffed but I will not order from here anytime soon. read more

It's Monday morning at 10:00am. Where the hell are all the bagels? They had like 4 choices. I got a salted bagel lightly toasted with cream cheese. Got it home. Bagel was hard as a rock. Threw it in the garbage. Didn't have a great selection of muffins either. It's the summer. School is out. Should be more busy. Up your bagel count for the day. Get it together. Not the first time I've walked in at 9:30 10:00 and they've had no bagels. It's a bagel shop! Not happy. Downhill for sure. read more

Well first off coming from New York I am a little skeptical about the bagels in New Jersey. I have found a few bagel stores that were pretty good and then I tried bagel boyz. From the minute I walked in I was greeted by the staff behind the counter in such a friendly way. There was one girl in particular named Kim who politely took my order and was just such a Colorful and pleasant person to see first thing in the morning. While I waited for my order to be completed we chatted for a little bit to pass the time. Within minutes my order was ready and it was delicious. Exactly what I wanted and took me back to New York. I see some people complaining about the price but I did not think the price was bad at all. Like everything else prices go up but I thought it was very reasonable especially since my breakfast sandwich was delicious. I give them five stars and have finally found my new bagel Spot! read more
